    Now, this was recorded in June 2020, and I have since found that you are able to alter the power of moves in the adventure mode, but the power is still slightly (less) unbalanced near the end of the game, so...point still stands. Aaaannnyway.

    I'm glad someone else noticed the unfair balancing. Some of the harder exercise you get early on like the squads and planks should definitely do more damage. I'm still doing them because I want to actually do something that challenges me, but it does feel like I'm shooting myself in the foot sometimes.

    • @MasterTrainerPeter

      Yeah, its rough in that sense. I try using those physically harder moves in my custom workouts to make sure I'm still doing them, but for adventure I've ended up swapping them out.

    For me, Ring Fit Adventure is an excellent fitness game. However, there are only 3 cons.
    1- Ring is the only character with voice acting while the others are grunting when dialogues appears.
    2- The game is always reminding you on how to do the Ab Guard, which is a move that you have been doing since world 1. As well as all the moves you must do in the overworld or dungeons, like breaking boulders, opening a chest, climbing, etc. We don't need a reminder. We've been doing these actions during the entire adventure.
    3- The game is asking you way too many times if you want to take a break. There should be an option to change how often do you want the game to remind you if you want to take a break. Some people knows when to stop.

      Great points there! I'm really frustrated with Dragaux not having a VA. Seems weird. And yes, there should absolutely be optons to turn off the tutorials after a while. Maybe you'd have to unlock it.
      I get the game asking you to take a break, its definitely a good call for those who are newer, but also an adaptable option for it would be appreciated.

    • @Cien22n2

      the reminders are great though, if anything they could give option to turn them off, but I love the fact that they keep popping out so there is no way I get confused about some sections

      Even when taking a class at a gym I need reminders periodically. I’m new to gaming and working out. Sometimes I get so focused on what I’m doing that I forget a move or control so for me the reminders are nice. I also slight memory issues too. But I can see how it would get annoying very quickly! Haven’t gotten mine yet but the more videos I watch the more I want it!! Thanks for the feedback everyone!

    • @CadenzaVvi
      @CadenzaVvi Рік тому +1

      Not only the tutorial for the ab guard. It's pretty useless for the victory pose as well, and it would be nice to have an option to skip the explanations for the minigames. Maybe I need a reminder, but maybe not, and it's frustrating to go through the tutorial (which is relatively lengthy) when you don't need it.

    I realized recently that the habits I got of moving in the last month is something that I miss when I don't do it. Like, yesterday, I gamed for 4 hours. Afterwards, I really felt a urge to move, and played some Ring fit. Today, I played quite a lot (I had my dinner delivered and the food arrived earlier than expected, so I was in the middle of my training; the 40-minute break made it so I was able to play longer) and it felt so good afterwards!
    I'm so glad that this game helped me staying active after my yoga lessons stopped and that it is now a part of my daily routine. I'm hopeful that this can have a similar result for other people. This game is really neat!

    My biggest complaint so far (I haven't had the game very long) is that with only 6 slots for exercises in battle, it's hard to get enough variety in each level. I've heard that as you progress you can upgrade the number of slots you have, so I'm looking forward to that.

    • @MasterTrainerPeter
      @MasterTrainerPeter  3 роки тому +6

      Definitely a goodpoint there! I know that you can increase those slots, yes. I currently have 8 slots, so I use two per attack type right now, unless it calls for a specific colour in the menu.

    • @mcventi4859
      @mcventi4859 3 роки тому +2

      skill points come at about level 40-50 and there is an option to increase skill slots. and also there is a increased skill tree at level around 60-65 and it might increase again after (i’m only at world 11)

    Oh, I am so glad to hear input from a fitness trainer about Ring Fit Adventure. I'm enjoying your videos and just subscribed, too. You are so right in the advice about listening to your own wisdom (and that of a trainer) above the generic guide info: I've got old injuries and scar tissue to deal with and there's no way the game can tailor advice around that. I also agree that some of the chatter from "Ring" is jarringly weird - but ignoreable. One feature I appreciate is the pulse meter that helps me assess light, moderate and intense working out.
    I've been using it for about 90 days (80 days of actual use), beginning at level one and working a 45-minute session of about 14 minutes of clocked exercise. I'm in my 60s, mostly sedentary and did NOT want any injury to stall me out (which has happened so often in the past) so I started out at the bottom. I am having good results: Progressing to level 9 now, losing 8 pounds, 2" off waist, etc. and enjoying the process.
    One tip I have for newbies is to RECALIBRATE after a bit. When I first got it, I was nervous about damaging the Ring, so when I first calibrated it, it registered me as way weaker than I am, and as a result, the game expected less of me. I figured this out as I noticed after about a month that I never needed to use any of the in-game smoothies. Even after upping the level to 8, it was still letting me win too easily. I re-calibrated ring, leg and running and it became a more 'honest' workout.

      I'm glad you're getting use from the IR reader, I've found it fairly ineffective for me as it rarely reads...could be a joycon issue!
      Thats really great how you've rebuilt from the ground up, and its great to see the older generations getting on board with this game too! Fantastic effort, keep it up!

    Hey, I enjoyed the video. It's always nice to hear a professional's take on something related to their field.
    I don't totally agree with some of the cons, namely the voice getting irritating. I personally find Ring's constant cheery attitude encouraging and appreciated. It's nice to have someone as excited about me getting healthy as I am.
    Obviously though that's totally subjective, and just a difference in opinions.
    I do very much agree with your #1 con though. I too have found it annoying that some very easy workouts are as effective in combat, if not moreso, than more physically challenging workouts.
    That's one of those things I've learned I just need to mentally discipline myself on. "Don't set nothing but super easy workouts! Regardless of how much damage they do!" I keep one or two of them as kinda a mid-battle break, but try to equip mostly effective and tough workouts. This works for me personally.
    Again, nice video. I liked it.

    • @MasterTrainerPeter
      @MasterTrainerPeter  3 роки тому +3

      Hey Isaac! Yes, its one hundred percent subjective! Where I find Ring a tad on the irritating side, I'll always be pro encouragement and positivity during a workout, and I appreciate the way you feel about Ring's positivity. Thats great, because getting healthy is absolutely something you should feel good about!
      Ahh the last one is frustrating. I hear that near the end game there is a sort of remedy for this issue, which is great! But until then, putting some harder exercises in regardless of power is awesome. And you can always get the levelled up versions to help with variation from World 9 onwards. Variation is the spice of life ;)

    I found that with calibrating the leg strap I needed to go a little slower on the calibration. Once that was done I was able to maintain a steady pace within the game and everything seemed to be a bit more responsive when running. I haven't had to recalibrate my strap since and it works.

    i just started playing but i'm already with you on the unfair balancing, especially as someone with limited mobility. the number of exercises i can is already reduced, but i still want to get a decent workout...but i also want to defeat the bosses lol. it's going to be harder to me to get a proper workout if i can only select the exercises i can realistically do AND the ones that deal a fair amount of damage (not to mention the colour coding).

    I would agree with 99% of your pros and cons. Personally, I haven’t had much of an issue with run/walk/sprint. It may take a second or two to register, but for the most part it’s pretty accurate. Perhaps it has to do with the joycons in relation to the console?

      Hey Andie, thats absolutely fair. I'd be having quite a few issues with it, but I have recently found it to be a bit better. Must be a thigh strap position thing from when I was playing before! I do still find the stairs/knee lifts to be tough to register at first though.

    After a month with adventure mode, one thing that I feel like a con is the universal level. Kinda like raising the volume bar and volume for all apps go up the same. I wish I could add level to specific routine rather than to do that routine and wait for the cool down to do that routine again to simulate higher level of that routine.

  • @Ben-vb2us
    @Ben-vb2us 3 роки тому +1

    also, another big con related to your #1 con -- once you reach a certain level, and you've gotten all the abilities from the skills tree, you just stop getting new abilities, period. There's a set of 10 abilities that I've used for at least the past 200 battles or so just because they have the most power (top 4 single-target, top 3 three-target, top 3 five-target)... I would love it if the abilities didn't have a specific power, just a type of attack (1, 3, or 5 target attacks) that way I could still get the wide variety of exercises, because there are many attacks that I haven't done in months just going through adventure mode

    • @MasterTrainerPeter

    another HUUUUUUUGE con - I've played the game quite a lot, level 327 currently and I'm one level away from beating the regular mode + extra levels...... this ring con is so awfully, terribly flimsy after the first 50 or 60 hours of play. I actually *HAVE TO* use the abs assist mode to get through the canoe rowing and flying, because otherwise I couldn't do it. All the ring presses and pulls and stuff work fine, but rowing and flying are nearly impossible without the abs assist turned on. I seriously rage quit the game once because the flying just was not responding to all my stomach presses with the ring.

      How interesting, so the tensile strength of the Ring degrades so significantly the lighter presses dont register? Seems weird that Ring Presses work but Ab Guards dont!
