I love how average people doesn't like metal because they think it's too dark and about only growling. However the most popular power metal bands like Sabaton, Powerwolf or Grailknights actually have 10x more melody in their songs than in average popular songs recently. I don't really care about the genre until the song has a really good, catchy melody, so songs like this make me very happy.
Not to mention how unapologetically stupid most power metal bands lyrics are. I mean come the fuck on, "Resurection by Erection" has to be the most asinine and metal thing in the universe.
Metal can go very dark, but so can every genre. I mean.., listening to the average radio channel these days is just depressing with songs about loss and broken hearts. Then i luckily have power metal to cheer me up again.

It just goes for it, and that earns my respect.

The things we love most about old media always include the flaws that newer media doesn't have. Because those old flaws are a result of people pushing the media to the extent that it breaks. This is an entire video of media failing to capture or contain the energy being pushed into it. The reason that you like this so much, is that it's falling apart while it tries and fails to somehow hold together under the strain. Those moments of failure are the breakthrough.
So I checked out some of the older Grailknight songs on this channel and I got to say. This sound fits their Superhero Metal gimmick much better than the more Death Metal sound their older songs has. Great song BTW.

As someone who loves 80s music and Sabaton, this is a match made in Heaven for me. Also I guess you could say Joakim is a Metal Machine.
I'd love to hear sabaton do an entire album about working out
the last stand may not have been about it, but its a really good workout album.
Well, sometimes my entire workout playlist consists of Sabaton so...they've actually did 8 albums about that already. :D
They could do an album on various special forces training
@Never Trust Bob Oh that would be an album. I can imagine the names of the songs already: ''Half Right'' '''Push the pavement to the core of Earth'' ''DS Smoke'' and much more.
try out "One More Rep" from Austrian Death Machine.
could be smth you would like :)
[Lyrics]
Thunder races through our veins
One breath provokes a storm
Lightning floods the iron chains
Our limbs start to deform
Voltage boils our blood in seconds
Let us now nourish on its sting
Feast on its sting
We face the heat and fight the storm
Raging in our head
We walk this road and won’t step back
Till we’re among the dead
Flex - muscles tight
Made of steel
Flesh delight
We are born, out of storm and thunder
Raised, tear the worlds asunder
Send, in the darkest hour
Pumping iron power
We put our hand on iron bars
And lift them to the sky
We scream out loud
And fight the weights
Adrenaline makes us fly
While we watch our muscles growing
They grow larger than they should
Than muscles should
We face the heat and fight the storm
Raging in our head
We walk this road and won’t step back
Till we’re among the dead
Flex - muscles tight
Made of steel
Flesh delight
We are born, out of storm and thunder
Raised, tear the worlds asunder
Send, in the darkest hour
Pumping iron power
Push - Your’re a war machine
Sweat - The world has never seen
Pain - Is your destiny
Scorn - Lasts eternally
Flex - muscles tight
Made of steel
Flesh delight
We are born, out of storm and thunder
Raised, tear the worlds asunder
Send, in the darkest hour
Pumping iron power
Flex - muscles tight
Made of steel

I refuse to believe it's send. They clearly sing an f there.
@@FlaskTheTapir I hear what you mean, but these are the original lyrics so it's realy "Send". ^^
I know, found your reddit comment. Even official lyrics sometimes have mistakes, I know of Lordi's Hard Rock Hallelujah, and a fair few Sabaton songs - even in their official lyric videos here on youtube.
@@FlaskTheTapir I always like to beleive there are multiple truths to this :P I don't know what's true and what not so I just go on the most trustworthy source... Or just sing whatever the heck I want. Who cares lol
I was certain they said blade of steel lol
Weird, I don't remember smoking anything today...
Don't worry, the band smoked plenty for all of us
Were we're going we don't need smokes...
Back in 2008, a small location in Hamburg, Ballroom with a maximum of 150people, Grailknights opening for Sabaton, the stage was so small a dino costume of the knights show didn't fit through a door. Best concert ever. And only now I have found them together again.
Therapist: Joakinator isn't real...
Joakinator: PUMPING IRON POWER!!!
1:24 So Joakim really IS a metal machine!
Which can only mean one thing:
*"Metal Machine" is now officially part of this world's canon.*
So, when Grailknights and Gloryhammer will team up to stop Zargothrax?
When the pirates arrive from the future with the time cube
@@Pyraticalpunk this sounds like Alestorm
@@CarlosEduardo-og8pe I hope you knew that Zargothrax actually created the Storm of Ale
This band has to sail over to Dundee with a group of Italian Vikings and their strange reggeaton-music!
The Grailknights are obviously awesome and I want the toys, but Joakimbot really shines in this one.
If those toys are not available in their merch store they need to fire whoever they have in charge of marketing. 😂
MetalJoakim is probably one of the funniest things I’ve seen all day.
1:55 I like how they are imitating Joakims trademark knee abuse
Anybody notice him doing the fistpound on the thigh like Joakim does? It gets better every time I watch it!
Glory hammer: There is no band more silly than us
Grail Knights: Hold our beers.
*Hold our action figures ...
Doug walker on vocals as Green
Brutalmoose, callmekevin and wildspartanz on guitars as Red, Blue and Purple respectively
James Ralph on drums as Yellow
And Joakim Broden as himself of course
:D :D :D
I fully agree, green does look like Doug Walker, I wont lie the first time I saw the music video I wasnt sure, I thought it was, in turbo boost he really reminds me of Doug, but in the best way possible, like hes having fun
We've had Viking Metal, Dark Metal, Historic Metal, Pirate Metal, Cowboy Metal, and now Superhero Metal
You forgot Dwarven Metal. Wind Rose.
Joakim Broden has such an amazing voice, doesn't matter where he sings its an upgrade
Well, I guess they people behind the next Kung Fury Movie know who to contact for a themesong XD.
I don't think Joakim is a guest, he made this band just so he can come up with goofy ideas and not have it connected to sabaton
It's his not so guilty secret band, lol. When he's not being all epic in Sabaton he does this, lol.
I like the idea that he looks for bands that are weird but talented and gives them exposure. If nothing else I appreciate the idea of an artist helping other artists
@@christopherjackson3455 does this make Joakim the "Hollywood Hootsman" of Grailknights?
he seams crazy enough to sucesfully pull that of

Gloryhammer = The Empire
Grailknights = Bretonnia
Alestorm = Vampirates

@@Crom_Apsotle Maybe they're Kislev lol
Nanowar of Steel - Chaos
Sabaton is a full-strength Cadian Tank regiment, zapped across from the 42nd mullenium. Nobody else has claim to being Hellriders, Masters of the World executing such a Counterstrike to prove again their Unbreakable status as Metal Machines.
TheSunMoon then how does DragonForce come into this?
Grailknights simply does not get enough love. Great band.

People ask me, why are you happy? Me: This song exists.
This is by far the manliest song I've heard.
It's the 3rd band i've discovered thanks to Sabaton. Who'd think, that some swedes will gift me with so much Metal?
gift/poison pun intended, I presume? XD
7636-kei! No, i mean that thanks to Sabaton that 2 years ago were just some swedes i now am a metal fan.
pritkon Ah :)
pritkon well, they say that Sweden is the power metal/metal capital of the world
Did these guys seriously just say "swole is eternal?". LEVELS, man.
No, they said "Scorn - lasts eternally"
I saw Joakim and I thought "Oh this can't get anymore metal!"
and then it did. Literally.
Combo! It's all I love! retrowave + power metal + Joakim Joaster
I would like to see a colab song with those guys, sabaton, gloryhammer and I thing that Hansi or even with powerwolf or draginforse. That would be one of the most epic things in years to come
GRAILKNIGHTS BATTLECHOIR?!
YES SIRE!!!
YES SIRE
YES SIRE!
YES, SIRE!
YES SIRE !!!!
I love this song so much, because it is not only motivational, but just funny. It's just such a fun song to listen to at the gym.
I didn‘t think I needed 3D-animated-Metal-Joakim but now that he‘s here I don’t want him gone…
What I'm getting from this is "Get those gains so you can flex on the end of the world"
Ayup, flex your way through the apocalypse.
Beast of the Abyss? Noodle-armed featherweight!
There is a purity to that message isnt there?
I like this.
I'm not sure how ironic or sincere I am in my enjoyment either. This forces my entertainment to mostly focus around the bizarre. Fun stuff.
This song is a Grilled Cheese Sandwich on top of a Cheese Quesadilla on top of a 5 Cheese Pizza covered in Nacho Cheese.
This song makes no pretense of being un-cheesy. It just goes for it, and that earns my respect.
GoodAvatar it’s so cheesy that I had to watch a lactose intolerance version of this video
1:08 This is actually really how Joakim's mouth moves when he sings English, true story.
The literal theme song of working out.
I must've seen this video at least a dozen times and I've only discovered it a couple of days ago. I just can't stop watching it or stop listening to this song. Help.
And by help I mean don't give me a reason to stop.
Reason to stop: Metal Joakim arrived at your home XD
Go and get him!
Same boat my metal friend
Yup I'm the same
Now see that's something awesome the whole family can enjoy!
How is this not the greatest music video of all time!
Probably because Christmas Truce exists.
Every time I watch this I get a little bit more depressed that those action figures don't actually exist for sale.
I love this song so so much.
Metal Joakim cracks me up every time he's on screen.
Joakim became a Steel Commander, ruling the battlefield
If you're listening to this and you're not at the gym currently... I don't really know what to think of you... Go on. Go. Are you still reading this? Why aren't you at the gym already?

i want freedom call also in it.
and maybe.....
alestorm?
Add some Iron Savior to infuse with cybernetically enhanced heavy metal and for some sielck and Piesel action.
TheChaotix14 so basically the ultimate power metal supergroup.
I clicked this for Joakim. Now I'm gonna have to look up some more from these guys.
Great song BTW.
agreed
I was today years old when i happened upon this masterpiece thanks to Sabaton rock on brother 🤘🤘🤘
Guy in gym works out to song ( who also happens to be a huge sabaton fan ) starts lifting weights about a min into the song hears joakim brodén immediately drops bar on chest in absolut surprise
🤣🤣🤣
So... much... 80's! The bizarre love-child of a superhero comic, a Filmation cartoon and the kind of power-metal Europe's been cranking out for years... I'm a wizard, and even I'M rocking to this self-unconscious anthem to gym-rats.
Where do I sign up to become a member of the "Battlechoir?"
This is art.
I can’t stop watching this !
"Robot Joakim isn't real, he can't hurt you"
Robot Joakim:
"What would Joakim think if I didn't lift this?"
