    OMG, that’s the tape make it so the drill bit doesn’t slip? I’ve always had problems with slippage! Never thought of this

      I actually don't know, I did the tape so I can mark the spot where I wanted the hole to go

    If it's possible to drill a hole in a cabochon, then it should also be possible to enlarge the hole of a bead. In this way, the hole could be optimally adapted to each gemstone bead! How would you do that? A tutorial on this subject would be great.

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  Рік тому +1

      I have never tried that, but yes if your drill bit is wider than the hole you can widen the hole in the same manner as drilling the hole

      It is possible but unlike factories having large machines specific to drill beads, doing it at home can easily crack the beads.

    Omg you so simplified this beyond my best beliefs! I looked when I first started and good glory (no offence) I don’t need 40 min of everything but what I want to see! Thank you sooo much especially like the tape bit and seeing the drill bit you choose. Do you have any idea how many I broke because I picked the wrong one!

    How do you determine which bit to use? Are you applying pressure while you drill?

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  Рік тому +2

      I am a novice at drilling, I just picked a bit that seemed small enough, I am applying light pressure

    Can u do glass like that as well?

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  2 роки тому +1

      I haven't tried myself, but I believe you can, just make sure the drill bits say "diamond" so they are strong for glass.

    Where did you get the drill? Did it come with all the tips?

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  2 роки тому +1

      I purchased the tips separately on Amazon. The drill I got somewhere here locally, since I am in Australia I needed one that would work with our Australian power outlets.

    Is it difficult to drill it through the other way? Where the hole isn't on the face?

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  Рік тому +1

      Side drill? It might be difficult to hold the stone and get the hole to go through straight, I haven't tried

    • @midnightbel
      @midnightbel Рік тому

      @OxanaCrafts I have so many undrilled cabs, and wish I could drill them, but I mainly prefer the side drill style at the top.
      I know you can purchase them like this, but when I first got into this, I never got cabs like that. Was just curious. Would love to see an attempt if you ever do.

    That all depends on what you have for a stone. Some will split, some will shatter, and some will be just fine.

    • @oldkingcrow777
      @oldkingcrow777 Рік тому +2

      If they split or shatter youre pushing too hard. Doesnt matter the material, the principle is the same.
      If you're forcing the bit, youre going too hard and risk it. Let the bit/blade do thr work
