    Thank you for posting.. I watched this video around 4yrs ago and was further inspired to install and properly adjust MaxSpeed probaly the cheapest coilovers on the market that fit.. Drive Excellent handling like on a rail. I disconnected air lines after slow purge of the system I removed the fuse for the air suspension in the boot/trunk before the installation.
    I never received any fault codes regarding the air suspension. After riding like its on a rail for 4 years slamming into pot holes dips and unsuspecting train tracks they are finally giving in to gravity however still holding over the tires enough not to rub yet lower than I prefer it.
    Looking forward to some quality coilovers. Any not so obvious suggestions I can look
    into? Thanks again.

    Love it. My rear just went. Tempted to install coil overs. Did you have to recalibrate your ride height? Ever since replacing all my control arms and bushings my ride has gone really firm.

      I was lucky enough not to have to recalibrate it. I too was tempted to change to coils.

    With my 08 xj8 same problem mechanic wanted $2500 to fix my rear shocks I bought one online for $240 with 3 year warranty for only extra $30.

      ddrockets town awesome job! It’s great u were able to pull it off. Again I don’t want to be disparaging, they do have expertise they are charging for. But if you are a lil handy and tech savvy it’s possible to save...that’s what this whole channel is about. Thanks for watching!

    I have the same problem with a xj 2012, back pass side going low if the car seats for days. Was it jus plug and play? Any programing or sensor work?

    • @notanotherdiyshow
      @notanotherdiyshow  4 роки тому

      Rod Terra thank you so much for watching!. We have a good time doing these. As for the question it was plug and play for me but it’s an older model (2004). No extra sensors or programming. I’m not familiar with the newer models yet. (Working on it. Would love the new XJL ) I’ve done the rears before as well. They are a trickier because of location in the trunk. but definitely approachable. Let us know if you do them. Would love to hear the results...

    I want to change my front air shocks on the exact same jag to springs. Do i have to change the back also or can i just change the front

    • @notanotherdiyshow
      @notanotherdiyshow  3 роки тому

      Thank you for the watch. We are not professional mechanics. I would assume you need to change both front and back springs for ride quality. Also when u convert to springs you have to put on a special sensor where the air compressor is to let the car think everything is okay with the suspension. This would replace the line from the compressor so the rear springs wouldn’t get air from the compressor.

    Okay, I don't have any playdoah and I can't tell what size the torx on the bottom of the strut is. The largest I have is 45 and it is loose. I see kits with T50, but I'm wondering if that will be too big. I've seen T47 around, and wondering if it might be that. Ahhhh, you didn't say what size!!!!!

    Thanks Keath
    I am facing a nightmare with my XJ8 2006 I ordered 4 new Arnott springs and a new compressor, no air suspension fault message but the car goes down at night: it starts after two hours of turning off, the front right side is the first to go down followed by the left front side and after 5 hours both rear sides go down. After starting the car in the mourning I can see the message (vehicle is too low) within two minutes the car goes up to the regular level the message (vehicle is too low) disappears and the car drives normally all day. The mechanic could not locate a leak by applying water and sope, he checked the visible points and joints of the lines including the block under the boot, then the mechanic suggests that although all springs are new, the front right one could be the source of the leak because it goes down first and usually it is about 1CM lower than others even after leveling up during the day. So I replaced the front right spring under the warranty but it is the same. Does this seem to be a leak not been detected by the mechanic?
    Appreciate your advice

    Hi. Today I have the same problem which is air suspension fault. Jaguar xj became too low. Is it okay to drive my car to repair shop? Or should it be towed ? Please tell me about it . When i turn a wheel, tire and vehicle meets in some angle.

    Was your strut leaking because of the cold

    • @notanotherdiyshow

      Thank you for the view. It definitely started out like that or if it sat for a period of time. Overtime it got worse and wouldn't raise. Once We changed it was up and running again. Good luck with your fix.
