As someone who was born in South Bend, Indiana, I watched then Mayor now Secretary Pete transform our crumbling city into an area we can be proud of. We have a revived downtown business district. We have office spaces being renovated and remodeled yearly. We have an improved traffic flow and grid system. No mayor before him cared to fix any of this. It’s the greatest feeling to see someone who cares so deeply be able to do work like this at the national level. Secretary Pete would have my vote any time he needed it.i

I’ve lived near South Bend when he was there, and this is 100% false. He didn’t do much for the city and in fact made things worse. He is one of those most under qualified people for the job of Secretary. He has lied multiple times, and continues to focus on the wrong issues. He was only chosen because there is so much money involved that people in power continue to lie, cheat, and steal.

Yes, there are still problems, but not to the extent of five months ago. Some issues do take time to resolve. Now he's spearheading the actual implementation of the Infrastructure Bill. He will be the man on the front lines. He's the Repubs' worst nightmare - a competent government worker.

I’m 64 years old, and feel like I’ll be 74 in a few months, given the past 6-8 years. To hear Pete B refer to these obstructionist GOP’ers as skeptics becoming converts, and “the sincerest form of flattery” is absolutely amazing. I can’t decide if Pete is merely stepping over them, or so dignified and classy, than he’s soaring above them. Either way, his focus is on serving people, and it would bring me to tears, if I let it. Especially after what the GOP has put us all through. This man, ladies and gentlemen, is a Statesman.
