This modified 595 Abarth Competizione had its ABS taken out. Something I strongly advise against to on cars equipped with ABS from factory as it can make them behave... funny. Like in this case. Quite possibly, the car engaged traction control (regulated by the brakes) in the tight corner and it caused the lock up.
@@stoneeh I missed that part, but his reason for taking it out doesn't seem smart at all. My favourite place to place my intake is above the engine, against the firewall, with no hood vent and a non-jacketed turbo turning the whole bay into an oven.
Usually they route the intake behind the fender. But this location is not even that bad. You would be surpised but IAT is actually lower with a custom air intake on that location. But like i said best location is behind fender under the headlight.
Now I've had explained to me that the place where heat has no place to escape directly over the hot engine head is actually not too bad for an intake, and that cold air intakes don't do anything anyway, despite many manufacturers bothering with them for some reason. You never cease to learn 😅
I have an abarth. What this owner has done to the car is embarassing. Misha should have a "no shitbox rule". This car is not trackworthy. Barely roadworthy!
Should run the Forge intake pal, rerouted out the scuttle so it's no where near the engine. That intake sitting there is not doing your car any favours. Pops and bangs need to go pal, I had a 500 Abarth with a Monza system and it popped on upshift without having a map specifically made to do that. They're such fun cars! Looks lovely too.

Doesnt look any faster than my Punto with 190bhp and we have the same engine. Is it running off boost? BTW get rid of those pops and bangs. Sounds awful
By the way that turbo is not the right choice if you want a track use. A hybrid GT1446 would do much better cause it spools from low rpm. That turbo is better for roll racing. Also shifting way to soon at 6k rpm was killing some power. Probably where the PEAK hp came in.
Programming pops and crackles into an ecu map is the most childish obnoxious nonsense ever. It’s as cool as putting stick-on fake vents on your hood and front fenders but a thousand times more annoying.
I was behind a BMW in traffic a few months ago with open exhaust who kept his car in 1st gear and kept letting off the throttle constantly around 3-4k rpm to show off his pop and bang tune... It was SO loud and obnoxious, even through the closed windows in my truck which are very quiet and double layer (like a windshield). I'm in the US so of course the fool driving it has big chrome rims, lowering kit, and illegally dark window tint.
Compare to the swift: I am familar with a Swift and remapped 175 HP - its stunning fast and can compare easily with 595 about 160-180 Hp. I dont want to be rude but it seem the 595 runs like stock.
Absolutely awful. How anyone would think that sounds good is beyond me. The way it was dropped by that Swift too 😂 What a waste of time and money. I need to go and watch an ITB compilation to cleanse my ears now.
Young lad’s sweat shirt had ASBO on it which is anti-social behaviour order, that little certainly deserves one, the pops would become infuriating, the exhaust has an unpleasant drone to it, and those electrical issues too. No thank you.
The exact style car that gets police at a car meet for "antisocial behavior" making a store parking lot sound like a warzone of gunfire as kids do "rev battles" with one another.
On the intro of the video before the teaser of the lock, I thought the banging was something loose on the outside of the car. Turns out it's the exhaust pops. A bit excessive considering I'm at 6:24 in the video and the Swift that overtook the Abarth at the start is still in front.
There is something wrong electrically with that car that probably caused that lockup while off the brakes. Anytime there was a hard decel, the 4-ways/hazard lights were coming on. That is not normal.
I skipped the intro straight to the lap n thought it had suspention damage at 1st as made noise every time turned the wheel, but the guy needs to get a proper tune on the car coz thats awful
Came here looking for this question... Like... Is it? I think there should be mandatory inspection by mechanic of each and every car Misha sits in just to be sure it will not become coffin in case he misses something critical...
I think its fair to say it isn't quite making the 280bhp but the comments are being overly harsh, it seems to pull quite well above 100mph but it really should when its a shoebox with that power, below that its a mess. Its all just a bit of a mess.
If there would be an award for most sketchy car Misha has driven this year this would be top contender. Makes also no power up top. Did only 220kmh into Schwedenkreuz with no traffic so it made hardly 220hp if that.
Each to his own, but that sounds bloody terrible. It sounds broken with all those pops and to be honest looks slower than my ‘just remapped’ 595 which is 200hp tops. No way is this 280hp - sorry.
Think you need to be a bit more selective Misha with some of these builds That could have been really bad for both of you in that car Bad bad tune and whoever gave him the aBS advice was insane The tuner should be able to compensate for the traction interruption
They are nice to look at and drive but the chassis is not made for any kind of serious racing. They remind me of the old Punto GT back in the 90s but those were more predictable. Personally I advice youngsters to look at the Mito with the same engine but double wishbone in the front. It is more fun to drive and way more forgiving at high speed corners. What is that noise I am hearing? Is the muffler hitting the undercarriage? 😆
@@thetruth7633 My friend had a Punto GT and to be honest. That's a way cooler car than this little Abarth. Little sleeper that car was. Amazing slingshot effect it had. 👍 I'm pretty sure a 170-180bhp Punto GT is faster than this Abarth. 😅😅
It looked like it saw that heavy turn in as a potential spin and tripped a stability system of some kind to stop it going around - hence the lock up. If you're going ot pull the ABS off anything with integrated electronics do it properly - big brake kit, new lines and master cylinder/s - preferably with bias control and keep the system completely seperate from the car electronics.

@@dorgeshuun I meant the over the top single tip titanium exhaust paired with an over the top pop tune. Not him as a person. He seems actually pretty chill

@@abdullahadebayo2934 not even uk mate. Here in the netherlands there are tons of gti's and some bmws running that awful crackte tune. Id much prefer fireworks if im being honest

Pure liquid dookie
as a abarth owner and big fan of the car unfortunately yet again im embarrassed. the tune on the car seems to be absolutly horrible, taking out the abs on a car thats still being used on the road is a mystery to me. i hope misha gets to drive a properly setup car one day.
Embarrassing cars that's why
What a total shed and no way is that 280bhp.
Bucks on low load, tuning must have been quite poor.
More like 180 on a good day
@@claudiugardelli6302 that turbo aint making 180 even on spring boost. 0.6 makes more than 220 . Just a bad turbo pick for track use. That turbo spools way up. 4000+ rpm ..so wrong turbo and bad tune.
I would like to see the yellow Swift on the channel
Swifts are cool
Yes yes pls
Got a yellow one aswell :)
me too, so i can call him a twat for his dangerous driving near the flatbed and porsches
This has to be max 200hp, there are cars with 200hp from the factory doing 110-120mph in the dip.
Best example of why the last weekends at the Ring were the way they were.... Yellow license plates, unnecessary pops bangs, 10 errors in the system, "close calls" (or as we have seen in recent weeks, multiple accidents with these shitboxes)
i love how the owner is just happy about it XD
that lock up was sketch AF! hope he keeps the car, updates it and comes back in a couple of years for another ride
Back tomorrow, pops and bangs aren’t mapped in! Will explain in the next video
@@tomfiddimore man i like the car, cant wait to see it come back again, dont let the negative comments get you down, this is an opportunity to develope the car into something really special.
@@krimm1450a lot of teething issues, comments make me laugh, I see the funny side don’t worry.
Hot Air Intake ???? Maximum 200-220HP. Pops bangs ooooo my god :(
220 is good power for a car that size bet it's great fun 😁
@@ianwall8363Not with the pops and bangs
When the owner got asked by the tune show what mods he want down to the car he must have answered only “bangs and pops”
280 bhp ❌
Who modifies and doesn’t dyno it, then just guesses a power figure 🤷♂️
Don't forget, it's been tuned. Which means it was street tuned... for track use... I thought street tuning a build was as a last resort, in order to be able to drive it to a dyno for it to be properly tuned. We can confirm that street tuning a car for pedal to the plastic isn't effective or efficient. Well, it'd only work if your tuner is a complete wizard and knows his/her shit. (Mainly his shit. Haven't seen any female tuners)
90% of the uk car scene does this my friend🤣🤣 if you know a guy with a laptop and software all you need is a 1er
As an owner of an Abarth 595 myself, I found this video extremely irritating to watch and even worse to listen 🤯(I could not watch the video in full)
My favourite place to place my intake is above the engine, against the firewall, with no hood vent and a non-jacketed turbo turning the whole bay into an oven.
This boy from England knows exactly how to destroy a car
cool to see that the camera system works and they react that quickly 👌🏻
crazy build - hot air intake, pops and bangs out of hell and deactivated abs without knowing, just stay away from racetracks
0:53 hot air intake, 'cuz getting power out of cold dense air is for amateurs!
Usually they route the intake behind the fender. But this location is not even that bad. You would be surpised but IAT is actually lower with a custom air intake on that location. But like i said best location is behind fender under the headlight.
Not like a "cold air" intake is doing anything for you anyway.
Now I've had explained to me that the place where heat has no place to escape directly over the hot engine head is actually not too bad for an intake, and that cold air intakes don't do anything anyway, despite many manufacturers bothering with them for some reason.
You never cease to learn 😅
@@stoneeh We are talking about this particular model , not all cars. Its tested. Stop trying to be a smartass.
@@stoneeh Whatever makes you sleep at night. I am talking about this particular model not all cars. IAT is lower than stock.
Aggressive popcorn machine ... 😁
I have an abarth. What this owner has done to the car is embarassing. Misha should have a "no shitbox rule". This car is not trackworthy. Barely roadworthy!
What an awful car
"I've never had it do that"
Mate we all know what a crackle map sounds like LOL
It's not even a good sounding pop. Just sounds like someone throwing rocks (rightfully so) at your car.
Nice car but this aint 280 HP😅
Was thinking that myself. How you getting 100hp with just a turbo on this engine.
@@RosskoPeeko its 140hp and the other 140hp are producing the pops and bangs!
@@RosskoPeeko Not just a turbo , you need front mount intercooler , exhaust , downpipe , injectors , intake kit . 300bhp is easily achievable with stock motor but proper tune.
Agree, this aint 280hp. That yellow swift (although most likely not stock) was flying in comparison to the abarth
@@RosskoPeeko It can go to 300 without changing the internals
Never heard so many pops, thats just annoying, nothing more
Whoever mapped that needs to have a word with themselves 🙄 🍿
This car is like a chihuahua. Tiny, not the most beautiful and annoyingly loud all the time.
Couldn't stomach watching the whole video with all those Fart sounds.
The pops and bangs legit had me thinking at first that the engine blew up and it was just sounds of metal chunks flying around.
Love seeing different cars and projects on the channel.
The owner was a nice kid, but I gotta agree with everyone here, those pops and bangs are down right embarrassing.
The most annoying sounding car you have ever taken round. It was painful to the ears, only reason I kept watching after 30s because you told us there was a close call with the barrier.
I also own an Abarth. Pretty much stock, just with a Software which makes around 200 HP
The Car in the Video is just a piece of garbage
First: The Pops and Bangs... no words needed
Second: No ABS... just stupid
Third: This Car never ever has 280 HP
What this owner will find out is that titanium doesn't have the thermal efficiency of stainless. Titanium will fail as it cannot cope with high temps repeatedly. Stainless steel on the other hand can & won't fail due to repeated thermal expansion & contraction
280hp? just how fast is that swift?
Was thinking the same what a rocket that must be around 220 bhp ?
Was also wondering on that one
@@happysnapper6132 it’s 170bhp 😂
thats the tryhard in yellow swift from the v10 e46 m3 video! I knew it was him once I saw the moment at 6:13
also this fiat is probably the most repulsive vehicle featured on the channel so far
The swift easily kept up, its 280 like the 1000 hp gtr and my ass, poser car :D
What punto ya got a 1.4 t jet ? My bros got 1 that's 190 mapped cracking lil thing for under 200bhp

Imagine picking this as your project car. I cant
i'd pick it in a heartbeat if i could get one in the USA.
nothing wrong with picking it, these are quite fun to drive but wtf did he do to it
Programming pops and crackles into an ecu map is the most childish obnoxious nonsense ever.
How could the Abarth have 280 hp when the suzuki swift can hold on with only 140 hp in the beginning!??!!?
what makes you think the swift has 140 only? did you see whats under the hood? not saying that abarth is 280 cause yeah it doesnt look like.
That swift is not stock, but its also far away from 280hp. Abarth owner is talking 🗑
Why does this car having the backing track from a '70's popcorn machine?
Nice car but that pop and bang map is terrible.
Absolutely awful. How anyone would think that sounds good is beyond me. The way it was dropped by that Swift too 😂 What a waste of time and money.
I need to go and watch an ITB compilation to cleanse my ears now.
Die zit vol electronische fouten. Gas los en remmen en het dashboard is een kerstboom.
This car goes surprisingly well with his haircut.
1:15 Strut mount look garbage.
Came here looking for this question... Like... Is it?
I think there should be mandatory inspection by mechanic of each and every car Misha sits in just to be sure it will not become coffin in case he misses something critical...
Please tag the guy in the Yellow Swift🗣️
I’m here 😊
@@S1RS Omg, Ur car was faster than this fart machine!😭😂

The metal in the engine bay will get massive heat soak better off wrapping the intake pipe with heat protection
That was scary. Well done Misha. The way you dealt with it was admirable.
Had to turn it off, the sound was too annoying.
Saw the intro and didn’t watch the video purely because of the ridiculous popcorn, no car needs that especially a 3 cylinder! A shame 😐
No way thats 280 lool. Swift sport destroyed it which has about 140. If anything this abarth is slower than stock.
A lots of Popcorn are still left an the Track
280 hp and a suzuki swift with half the power keeps easily up?
What is that swift packing i wonder?
I think its fair to say it isn't quite making the 280bhp but the comments are being overly harsh, it seems to pull quite well above 100mph but it really should when its a shoebox with that power, below that its a mess. Its all just a bit of a mess.
If there would be an award for most sketchy car Misha has driven this year this would be top contender. Makes also no power up top. Did only 220kmh into Schwedenkreuz with no traffic so it made hardly 220hp if that.
Your right, that old bag of shit Volvo 240 he drove was better than this, even after it blew up !
Each to his own, but that sounds bloody terrible. It sounds broken with all those pops and to be honest looks slower than my ‘just remapped’ 595 which is 200hp tops. No way is this 280hp - sorry.
Think you need to be a bit more selective Misha with some of these builds
That could have been really bad for both of you in that car
Bad bad tune and whoever gave him the aBS advice was insane
The tuner should be able to compensate for the traction interruption
They are nice to look at and drive but the chassis is not made for any kind of serious racing. They remind me of the old Punto GT back in the 90s but those were more predictable.
Personally I advice youngsters to look at the Mito with the same engine but double wishbone in the front. It is more fun to drive and way more forgiving at high speed corners.
What is that noise I am hearing? Is the muffler hitting the undercarriage? 😆
The Mito is racing in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge in America, and it’s been winning races.
@@it_is_just_a_volvo The Abarth has "280 horsepower" during Sunday afternoon family meeting LOL!
This sums up the UK car scene at the minute. Shit cars with stupid pop and bang maps.
Couldn’t watch the video. Those pops are beyond irritating.
Very respectful, Misha. And the award for the worst car of 2024 goes to.........

More like worst ever.
