Hello, I have a question. Today I bought a Gala but I found out that it is Galav2. Is it the same thing or is the Gala worthless and only Galav2?

Interesting. I thought because I could move my GALA from Gala Chain to ETH it was an L2. So what mechanism accounts for moving GALA from chain to chain?
@@aioncrypto974 They are pivoting to providing an L1 built on Hyperledger, which is a Linux Foundation blockchain project, meant for enterprise/high transaction rates. Supports multiple channels/subnets like Avalanche, so anyone can easily spin up their own channel and node network, that does not share bandwidth with the main chain. Some elements like data availability that are done using a mutli-chain approach within the Ethereum ecosystem, are native to Galachain, so the dev experience should be nice. The smart contracts use Typescript and not Solidity, like on Ethereum, and it is simpler to do things like changing the properties of an in game item, without a burn/re-mint of the underlying NFT.
Only time will tell if they can drive adoption, but they have somewhat scaled back their efforts to make games, but instead are trying to get third parties to build things games and more on Galachain. Hoskinson from Cardano just released a game on Galachain and Cardano has been contributing code to Hyperledger, so there could be something brewing there. Meanwhile Galachain development has been split into another org called LFG, separate from Gala Games. LFG looks intent on growing the chain into something larger, but the move has lost them some of their most supportive community members, who are not happy that the visionary team behind Mirandus have been fired and their jobs outsourced to Chile.
