I just bought a used 05 sportsman 500 HO, first Polaris, I am about to order tires and trying to figure out what to get (size) it currently has Polaris PXT tires 26”, thought about doing 27s, as it already has ITP delta series wheels and appears to have 4-3 offset
Not exactly sure but i want to say somewhere around 55mph or a tad more before with the 25 inch tires and now probably about 50mph with 28's but thats not factoring in the bigger tire size making the speedo be off a ways. Id guess probably lost about 5mph going from stock tires to the 28s. It still goes fast enough for trail riding and lets be honest its not a speed demon to start with. If you want that buy a 1000cc wheeler.
I know this is old... but fingers crossed.... So do you have a lift kit on this 500? I have a 2001 and am looking at getting this clutch kit for mine, I don't want to put 28s on it. just 26s and I have a 2" PVC lift in the front... just wondering. thanks, cool vid.
Just found your channel that is a beautiful old Sporty 🤘🏻 i own a 2003 600 twin 28” highlifter outlaw 1’s 2” black path lift, forward and arched super atv a arms, east lake axles all 4 corners, front axles are 2005 style to fit the super atv a arms. Upgraded rm stator ignition, k&n air filter. Next on the list is clutch kit and snorkels 🤘🏻 awesome videos 🤘🏻
@@jatmomdadjt8744 i believe so. You have to run 2005+ style axles up front that are longer i chose east lake. I may have heard somewhere if ur machine is older then 02 u may need to change the front hubs to a newer style but im not a 100% sure on that either way you could definitely make them work id start with just the a arms from super atv and 2005+ style axles and then if there was a fitment issue then order a couple year newer hubs even used ones would do. Like i say not a hundred percent on the hubs but they would be a cheap and easy change as well
@@green_03_silverado14 Ok thanks, I’ve been looking at new fourwheelers but I really just want to keep riding mine because there’s nothing wrong with it, there’s just not much available for them as far as aftermarket parts.
Check out my latest videos to find the install video of this clutch kit with exact part number. Otherwise the link to this exact kit is in the video description below the video. It was a major improvement to me, may have lost some top end but at least now i can turn the tires over in mud at 1/3 throttle where as before in low range wide open it would literally almost not even turn the tires over in mud with wide open throttle. I almost came to a complete stop before in mud where as now i can just easily power through it. The orange spring might be a little too high of engagement for some people to like so try the red spring if you are not planning on doing a lot of mud riding.
What does it top out at in high gear I’ve got a 17 sportsman 450ho I’m gona put 28 inch outlaw 3s on and do the Epi clutch kit i was wondering if it still keeps some speed
Good job editing in the sound on the drone footage
EPI clutches are the shit. I run the sand clutch for stock size mud tires. It locks up like a bank vault. Never gotten stuck since. Worth every penny.
Thats the same wheeler i got just different tires mine also is camo
I have this same 4wheeler and I have to have those wheels and tires.
How did you seal your belt my leaks bad
How does the suspension feel after the lift kit? Especially the front?
Stiff, but the front will sag with a plow on and rub the tires especially when turning.
@@Temptation_Offroad what abt with 2in spacers
What trail are you on and where are you riding? Kind of looks like the Iron Range because the water looks a little red
Was the lift kit necessary to fit your tires?
Yes or the tires would scrape the plastics and the bumper
You can fit 26's with no lift tho maybe some 27's

What wheels are you using? I need some wheels for my 99 sportsman 500 but not sure what center bore I need
The wheels in this video on my Sportsman 500HO are the STI HD3 14" wheel.
How fast did it top out at before and after?

he has another video saying he lifted it 2" high lifter, you shouldn't need a lift for 26s
Yup i got 26 size super swamper vampires on my 2000 polaris sportsman 500
What size wheels are those? As well as tire size?
Hi, the tires are 28x10s and wheels are 14tall i forget the width of the wheels.
@@Temptation_Offroad for sure, thank you! I realize I can do my own research but I figured I’d get you more views by asking lol
Did this kit change the secondary spring as well or just the primary....thanks in advance.

Welcome to the channel and THANK YOU🤝🏻 Sounds like a fun machine you have also!

Do you know if the control arms you have will fit a 2001? Love mine but parts are slim

What kit was it exactly? And how much of an improvement would you say ?

wonder if this exact kit works in a polaris 425 magnum 4x4
Just go to the EPI website and search for a kit to fit your machine. Then you can use that part number to look online to compare prices if necessary.
@@Temptation_Offroad ive done that they only have a kit for stock sized tires for my atv,.
Oh, umm you could try calling them or QSC and ask if they have anything else or could make one up for you that would work.. Thats my only other idea.

For the 4 wheeler or the EPI clutch kit?
