- Ouch! You chipped your tooth while playing ball. Let’s take a look and see if we can’t help you to get it looking as good as new. A dental crown is a fake looking tooth that is placed as a cap on an injured tooth, and it will strengthen the tooth and improve its appearance. In this interactive Dental Crown Placement procedure, you will first place a temporary crown on the affected tooth. We’ll go over the different kinds of dental crown materials, metal, porcelain, and ceramic, as well as learn about the reasons to use each kind. Then you will customize a permanent tooth to match the patient’s tooth color and shape. Once the permanent tooth is ready, you will place it on to restore our patients tooth to its former glory. It’s time to get started, so let’s scrub in!
Fact: This damage could be repaired using a dental filling to replace the chipped part of the tooth. It’s actually a minor chip that a dental filling could solve. A dental crown is necessary if the damage is severe or the tooth is severely decayed and had a lot of fillings, root canal treated, or if you want to change the color of your tooth/teeth, but bleaching or veneers aren’t a good option because of what I mentioned earlier, the tooth had a lot of fillings and another reason is that veneers could dislodge or fracture easily, and the only alternative is no other thing, but a dental crown.
I noticed something you forgot. Retraction Cords. During tooth preparation, you need to place the first and second retraction cords into the gingiva then after preparing the tooth, leave it there for 8 minutes then remove the 2nd retraction cord, and immediately take impression with impression material to record the margins below the gingiva. This is very important because when you take an impression, the margins below the prepped tooth should be recorded, and not above the gingiva. This is for the dental technician to be able to create a well-fitting crown. If you just take the impression without the usage of retraction cords “like this procedure” the technician will prepare an ill-fitting crown and problems could arise for the patient. Another reason to use retraction cords is because you SHOULDN’T cut the gingiva during tooth preparation or receding gingiva will be the consequence. Retraction cords are crucial in dental crowns for the safety and accuracy of the permanent crown.
Holy heck, I played these as a kid all the time. Memory unlocked seeing this in my recommended💕
I'll be having this procedure done soon.
The story starts when I was 12, and one of my cousins and I were playing with a wiffle ball at my grandparents' house on Thanksgiving Day. The ball hit me in the mouth and knocked out part of the middle tooth in the upper row. Instead of waiting until the next day when we would be sure a dentist office would be open, my dad got out a phone book and called the first dentist he could that would be willing to open his office long enough to perform the procedure of putting the tooth back in. (He was also told to put the tooth in some milk to keep it strong and to bring it with us.) About 2-3 weeks later, I was eating a piece of candy at my baby-sitter's house and pulled the tooth out again. I told my mom what the dentist who had helped me on Thanksgiving had said. My mom put the tooth in a glass of milk, then forgot to bring it when we saw my own dentist the next day, so my dentist had to rebuild the tooth. Now, about 35 years after those, my current dentist wants to do this procedure in the near future so my tooth doesn't look unsightly with the glue from where my childhood dentist rebuilt the tooth.
What is the name of the game please 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
