@@imposetonstrike9312 OK, Googling is 5,08:1, shorter than Merc 6 speed gearbox (common ones are 5,01:1). Not understnd why is the reason they fit that low ratio in 1st gear, for me it is a wasted gear, can be usable for a cargo van , but for a car no see reason to fit it, only in a hill start, but with a normal ratio 3,5-3,9 could be short enough.
@@jarripoterothese gearboxes are fitted to cars with 2.2 to 2.8 final drive, they do 50kmh in 1st Gear in beamers. Also important thing is kmh/1000rpm. If too much cluth gers burned on daily drives. It's factory box afterall
@@gedas3419 If were the engineer of these gearboxes I´ll make them with a "normal" 3,5-3,8 ratio at first gear. A friend sold two months ago his Seat Córdoba TDI 130HP 310Nm, real dyno power stock is 152HP as average number, and 390Nm torque, first gear is 3,7 diff ratio a long 2,4 !!!! 6th gear 59,9Km/h@ 1000rpm. Top speed sure is in 5th gear. I see very short that 5 ratio 1st gear in Mercs and BM´s, I prefer a more close ratio between 1-2, not that jump. In future I want make my W124 300TD with OM606 superturbo, and yes, I have that 6 speed Merc gearbox with think 5,014 first gear
