Carrie, again, so glad I found your UA-cam channel. Binging the videos now. Miss your tik tok lives. I love all the great things you find and how fun to go searching the two of you. I’m wondering if there’s anything you find that has no monetary value but you still get very excited each time? For me I think it would be buttons. I love textiles and clothes and often all that’s left are the pins and buttons and stays. I’ve seen you get excited about the pipes but curious what is your favorite find?
I have a Rotherhithe story that, sadly never happened. Don’t get me wrong,I have walked the foreshore of Rotherhithe, down by the Mayflower,a couple of times! But this (not) happened last year. So,I was about to experience my first Christmas alone,as my other family members would be out of town this time. And I was kind of looking forward to this novel experience! So,a few days before Christmas, maybe December 21st,it crashed down on me,it’s hard to explain, but I felt it in a baaad way. And you know what? I said to myself “screw it! I’m going to London!!!” I booked a flight, for Christmas Eve,I booked an air bnb and everything! The morning of Christmas Eve came. I can’t explain it. I just lay in bed,I couldn’t get up. I laid there on and on. My airplane came and went,it flew away, along with my dream of spending Christmas Day on the foreshore. My Airbnb was located at Rotherhithe. I never sought a refund for the airfare or the Airbnb. An expensive Christmas it was😅😢
Fantastic episode Carrie and Ken! I love seeing you two interact. In watched ‘Alma’s not normal’ after hearing about your trip to the BAFTAs. Binge watched and I loved it!! also crazy to think what happened the night this was recorded…. You two are heroes.
Oh! That road cat’s eye!! We have them here in America, they are super rare nowdays. Do you know what is also rare over here? My city,Cleveland Ohio is home to one of the last streets made out of WOOD! It’s also known as the shortest streets in Cleveland. It is lovingly maintained by the residents of this street. I believe the origional blocks of wood are Lignum vitae, the newer ones are probably maple wood.
I must take more notice of the bios I keep looking at ken and thinking he looks just like that actor on the telly that's because he is that actor on the telly 🤣🤣🤣

The ‘silver’ looks like haematite which I think was used in the iron and steel industry.

I’ve been told that the silver bit is an Antimony, it waste from lead & gas production.
The word I like is Gemerold for your paste stone. 💎
Thanks so much Phil and great to meet you
I have a supercrush on Carrie🥰
Awwww sending you a big hug 🥰
Thank you🥰
Great video, Ken! Sorry I'm a bit late to the party, haha. Is that mystery coin at 6:26 not just an American 1 cent?
Thank you . Could be - but the corrosion is quite heavy and the 1 Cent is copper i think? which wouldnt end up like that
@TalesFromTheForeshore Ah, fair enough. Hopefully you can figure out what it is. Maybe electrolysis could help get rid of some of the crud?
I must take more notice of the bios I keep looking at ken and thinking he looks just like that actor on the telly that's because he is that actor on the telly 🤣🤣🤣
Aliam if it's spelt right I do hope that helps 😊
Brilliant thank you
