I have a 89 Cherry Sunburst I bought new in 89 for $750, how the times have changed! Has a Duncan Custom in the Bridge, '59 in the neck. Broke the headstock off once but it's still my favorite Les Paul of the 9 I have.
That was late 80's. He could have been the most recognisable guitarist for the next 30 years or he could have been around a year then never heard of again. They weren't hedging their bets with the fancy stuff
I know we all have different sounds in our heads but Slash on Appetite especially Mr Brownstone and Rocket Queen are two of my favorite recorded sounds of his. Those and Aerosmith Sweet Emotion are both the quintessential tones in my head..
Very cool!! I just bought a Gibson Slash Les Paul November Burst at the Garage in Nashville. I was looking for a 50’s or 60’s burst and I couldn’t really find one that called my name, in walks the salesman with this one and I’m not even a big fan of Slash and I just fell in love with the guitar!! It is awesome, stays tuned for ages, sound great, top notch quality!! Slash has a new fan now for sure!! 🙌🏻
I have one that was made a few months later. Looks like he has to set his bridge a little high too like mine. Neck angle must have been a little greater in 1987.
I would love to have a guitar one day that is worned through as much as that one and know that I was the one who put that work into playing it till I wore through the finish.
Wow! Now she's a beauty! Man, it rare to see one that wears out cool looking. Cig burn makes it look even more Rock n Roll. I bet it sounds good and plays great. The axes that are worn in from years of playing are the best. Those wear marks were born not made!
Gibson, please do another collection video. I watch all of them several times each. They are my favorite. Idc if it’s Joe Blow down the street, I just enjoy the whole thing. Thank you ❤
Yea man, so cool! Now you just have to be a multi platinum guitarist going around the world asking people around you to drop and scrape your guitar when they move it.‘anything less is not “cool” as you would say
Anyway, there are many Guitars around, this Guy would get a goosebump- tone Out. He's a talent and, If you Play electr. Guitars, His bendings and pattern constructions are really great stuff
@@jameshansing5396 😀😀, a special message to Gibson, I wished Mark Agnesi and entire Gibson yo react to my message maybe… Maybe I was expecting a bit too much this time 😂😂😂 thanks for the reply!
I guess it's okay if you're a touring musician with a guitar tech - "hey, can you go back and get me the 'burst Les Paul?", "uhhhh, which one do you mean, you have eight 'bursts back there?", "you know, the one with the two humbuckers" etc. etc.
The ones that isn't original Gibson or you say is replica is Slash's Appetite For Destruction guitar which has Seymour Duncan's zebra pickups, while the "Jessica" guitar is an ex-factory one that was given to Slash from Gibson. So, “Jessica" is a real Gibson's guitar but factory second.
Todo deja mal parado a Gibson= le mandaron guitarras de 2da y el las pidió para guardar y proteger sus verdaderas guitarras preferidas....que NO SON GIBSON, son réplicas!!!!

hey @gibsonguitar would you know if this is the sunburst he plays in the 92 tokyo shows that were sold in vhs(and dvd)? great video btw
Just proves how a factory second can be magical in the right hands.
I've got an 89. Very happy with it. Has an Alnico 2 in the neck and the original OBL in the bridge. Best neck on a Les Paul I've played in decades.

Imagine a company sending a factory second to one of the biggest celebrities in the world at that time. They truly don’t give a shyt 😂
More likely they pulled a bunch of guitars off the racks, played them, and sent him the ones that had a certain tone to them.

It is still free guitars aint it? Factory seconds just mean aesthetic flaws. The guitar itself is fine.
@@vmx23No, he paid for them. He has clearly said it in many other interviews.
Yup
This guy will FOREVER be my hero!

Those are some of my favorites too!
Very cool. He's put some heart and soul into that one over the years. 😎🎸🖤
Marty!!
Marty! My favorite channel!!
This is one of the Les Paul's that Gibson gave him, when he retired the Kris Derrig copy of touring.
Wish it was more cherry like early 90s, when Slash hit the stage with that iconic guitar❤❤
It was
You can tell just how much Jessica means to Slash.

Slash has been my fave since a kid, and my name is Jessica… loved this video🎩🤘🏼
kay, I’ve always scratched my head about the obsession around the kislux book totes and their practicality, but this one is adorable!! Congratulations

Another Slash signature surprise surprise
確か初来日の時のインタビューで2、3本貰って塗装を薄くしたって言ってたはずです。同じのが2本あったのは覚えてます。自分も当時中古で似たような年代のスタンダード買いました。
I have a 1989 Standard in a cherry. Love it.
Incredible

Certified Platinum!!!!!
“The time and work that went into it”. Yeah all that relic work took me a few hours lol
authenticly relic'd by himself, not by some custom shop dude. The only way to go.
I hope he got paid hourly!

Whenever I hear Slash talk I can't get past how soft-spoken he is; I guess he reserves his aggression for the fretboard!
He really is a chilled dude

Nothing like a Les Paul Standard.... the soundtrack of my life!
Slash my childhood hero
I learned that who uses it, how to use it, are more important than a thing itself
That's what every hobbyist says about their gear.
Hello Gibson. My mom loved the SG Standard over ESP LTD H3-1000, and in the future we are saving up for one now...
and?

No joke I got a epiphone sg g400 that I wished my Gibson sg standard played and sounded like that thing is awsome
Same!!! Mine rings like a bell and has great pickup and dynamics. All mahogany baby!!!!
He's the hardest on guitars ..
"Hold my bag of speed" says P.T.
“Hold my smarties” says Angus Young…..
No your sister is
That was cool.
Any ideas on what that's going to to be worth?
So Gibson can use left over woods and make three piece tops, call it Jessica replica and charge 10k for it. 😮
Imagine if there were 4!
Yup. Those are tone pieces sealed together with tone glue. Sounds killer.
Soooooo. Cool

Slash seems like a good dude.
It’s funny, I’ve been a Slash fan for over 20 years and I always forget he can talk
She looks like a Gibson Les Paul Faded Honey Burst.
That’s the one in the sweet child video I’m pretty sure
Mark quickly pass over the fact that Gibson sent him a factory second
This is the most valuable guitar on earth,
I would say Jimmy Page’s #1 1959 Burst is the most valuable guitar on earth
I wish Gibson would prioritse making regular guitars that are worth collecting rather than guitars simply for collectors
It doesn't look like he kept the Lawrence Originals in it.
🤘♥️🤘🎸🎵🎶
Ok so murphy’s ultra heavy aged is REAL thing 😂
This guitar in this video was a replica right? 🤔 because the pickups are new... there are no interview with the original guitar?
I didn’t recognise him without the top hat 🎩
Buckethead makes Slash look like Steven Seagal on guitar
King of kings
Damn sending one of the most famous Les Paul player like him a factory second is crazy, haha, Gibson cmon, even them endorseres must pay in full
Si esa guitarra hablara...
Hi guys, can anyone tell me why he put that tape in the back of the guitar? what is the purpose of that? thanks!
😊❤
They Gave "Slash" A Factory Second,Damn,Maybe They Didn't Like Him Too Much!!😂
I only wish i could afford one. Lol
Goes to show that the player matters more than the gear.
Bella/Linda.😱✡️✡️✡️✡️✡️✡️
They repost this video to promote the new "Jessica" les paul. LMAO.
Made left handed signature
I bet that guitar has seen some weird things
The guitar has probably slept with more women than any of us here
👍
yeah...Gibson send slash a couple of factory 2nds....yep....i get it.....hey...but they send them....
A Gibson copy of a Kris Derrig copy of a '59 Gibson!
Not this one..its a copy of 86-87 standard
I’d buy that for $1
“Can we hear the guitar?”
“No.”
All the “legit” wear with a ton of jewelry, belt buckles, chains, etc
Can we please kill the "I have a name for my guitar" thing?
Personification adds legacy and character, like "Greeny".

A best copy than original !! LOL
Giving guitars human names comes across as being deficient in certain aspects of life.
Commenting things like that comes across as being deficient in certain aspects of life.
I’m 43 and have always been single. I have lots of guitars, so I’m finally going to be busy for awhile haha
Gibson beging cheap only giving him a 3 piece top back then... 😁😇
it's just another generic LP bodanker to me
Recycled content, make that ad revenue...
