Coney Island never looked (or sounded!) so beautiful. I will be enjoying this composition as performed by the Dover Quartet this evening at the Skaneateles Festival. (Thank-you, Donna Himelfarb, patroness and citizen extraordinare!) ❤
I, too, saw the New York Times piece and fell in love with Strum out of all the picks. What a wonderful music video, too! Have been playing on a loop since yesterday!
I played this composition in the Saint Denise Festival in Paris, France on May 22, 2014 along with my string quintet. Till this day, this is one of my musical highlights. The energy in this work is otherworldly and I wanted to thank Jessie and the quartet for the string quintet arrangement they did for us. Bravo as always!
I heard of this video through a show on NPR today. I found this while listening to the arrangement on the radio. This was a suggestion I wouldn't have found other wise. What a masterpiece this is! 😊
Increíble ejecución de esta magistral partitura...!!! Por momentos me hizo evocar algunos pasajes de Silvestre Revueltas... Mil Felicidades por su extraordinario talento...!!!
Excellent! The music could stand on its own, but the video which parallels and enhances it is especially effective. The clever control of pacing, rhytmic and sonic variety, grounded in the familiar sound of the string quartet and inevitable drive to climax and baited conclusion make this a compelling composition. Brava Jesse!
Wow! I was sitting here doing research for an upcoming performance of Strum I have with The Orchestra of Northern New York. Omg. This took my breath away. Thank you for this. Rock on.

This is absolutely beautiful . . . in every way. My little students were completely mesmerized!
We love you; American genius. A precious diamond. Thank you for sharing this invaluable victory to classical composition.
