This episode was so funny. Pure well timed absurdity and fun. Thanks for the upload.
RIP valerie Harper you've made us laugh rhoda is a good show
elena richani Yes RIP Valerie Harper such a class act and great show
I love rhodas comebacks. Classy smart tough and she’s never desperate.
There are so many Earl's, hilarious, George played Earl so well.
George Wyner (Earl) is an amazing, amazing actor...he was in tons of film and TV. I remember I saw him one time at a play in Studio City, in the audience. Bernie Kopell was also there.
Huh. I’ll look for more of his stuff because I’ve only seen him in small parts.
@@robertashagam1599 He has been in tons of film and TV, be it small roles or big roles, they are still roles.
So funny, keep them coming😀🍀🇮🇪💚
17:00 this was like THE most embarrassing, humiliating thing Earl could've done to her - a guy with no limits as to his obnoxiousness. "You wanna check out my knees for yogurt? I'm a regular dairy farm." Hilarious. Valerie was always funny. She said later that Rhoda was the wind in the sails of her career. I only wish the character had lasted longer...I think a lot of us did. But we got her for 9 seasons. I liked her show more than Mary's in fact.
5 seasons
@@g-girl9867 9 including her 4 years on the MTM Show.
Carlton the doorman is greatest unseen character ever. I remember growing up with that voice in Garfield cartoons
Benny's Mom played by Peggy Pope. Lots of small roles, but great. I loved her in 9 to 5!
Kim Prieto...yes, Margaret Foster, the office lush😂😂
She was in a hilarious episode of The Golden Girls as a neighbors wife where a tree on their property falls onto the girls Lanai. Sophia puts a "hex" on the husband, but the husband's wife was in on the sabotage the whole time. Underutilized talent. Recently passed away, sad to say.
LOL! My uncle gave me a Puch moped when I was 16! You could buy them at Sears.
Hilarious, smart, complex, true to character...the only actress to hold a candle to Ms Lucille Ball IMHO
I can think of one who could: Mollie Sugden in the British show "Are you being Served?"
@@ledaleda8615 Gotta Love Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Jennifer Rachel Abergavenny "Betty" Slocombe: née Yiddell 😊
@@mich4345 I love her to bits. ☺
The Goodwin family was as boring as Benny himself. George Wyner is as funny as always though.
Earl Goodwin looks just like Buster Bluth from Arrested Development.
I always liked Jack, Rhoda's boss at the costume shop. I am amazed this is not on Metv channel. How could Brenda stand not to wear a bra? She isn't that small to get away with it. I liked Benny, but his family was weird. Rhoda always thought she was fat, but she was slender. Benny's brother was irksome.
Lol. His delivery makes me laugh out loud sometimes. I just watched THE STEPFORD WIVES and he has a small role.
So Benny's brother is even more annoying than Benny.
Hey!....Agree, Benny is an annoying wimp....
It seems Rhoda was surrounded by weirdos and creeps. Harper was a very good actress, it is too bad the show was written by mediocre people.
Wish they kept some of the good characters like Joe and Jonny, Gary and Martin
it was a fab show I for one enjoyed it
Completely disagree. Out of 100+ episodes I can only think of one, maybe two, below a high standard of writing.
As for weirdos and creeps, all the best situation comedies have em!! Maybe that's why I don't like 'Friends' much....four good-looking people, wisecracking for half an hour (borrrrrinnnng!!). Give me someone on a verge of a nervous breakdown thrashing a car with a tree branch, that's comedy!
I love Rhoda and Brenda but, I agree with you about the writers. I think the show could have made it but, the writing was very poor after season 2. Brenda and Rhonda's low self esteem was getting irritating already.
@@davidsanderson5918 not to mention (Friends) earned each main character a million dollars an episode So ludicrous...
recent upload of Match Game '78 had "from Rhoda, Nancy Lane..." on panel; confused, I You-Tube-searched... and here I am...
Who is Nancy Lane? Or did you mean Nancy Walker?
@@eloiseockert6561 No, she meant Nancy Lane. She played Rhoda's dumb assistant at her job.
Why oh why did they chose to make Valerie look so frumpy? Shame
The lady who played Benny's mother was the office lush in "Nine to Five"
Young were really adults back then and knew how to dress and act.....
maybe the silliest episode of any series ever aired. Wow did the Rhoda series jump the shark, the boat the house the dock.
In real life Benny was in a long term relationship with Joyce DeWitt from the show “Three’s Company.”
Despite the 70s feminist movement, women were portrayed as doormats with weak boundaries. The writers were So annoying!
I wish I had been of age then. When women in their 20s and 30s really looked and acted like adults.... Unfortunately I was only 2 years old when this season was filmed....
By the time I was an adult, women in their 20s and 30s and even early 40s acted like they were still in high school......
My parents were in their 20's
Were Brenda and Rhoda Jewish?
Yes
I like Gary better
I actually liked Rhoda better than MTM show call me nuts. It seems more 70s too me great memories best time of my life.
It’s amazing how petty and negative people can be as seen below. **Humanity takes a deep sigh**
Myrtle I hear ya! People are annoying as hell.
What really gets me about people, are the ridiculous, crazy names they come up with on social media. Sometimes they're like 36 letters long!
Perm was fashionable back then. It is certainly not becoming her. Or anybody else in that style.
I had hair like that back in the 80's. Like Rhoda's s, mine was also natural.
Not a perm. Her hair is naturally curly
Benny's mom was the lush on 9 to 5. His brother was on GGs as Rose's pervy dentist.
Mom was also on the GG's, as a neighbor whose husband has a curse put on him because he won't remove a fallen tree on the girls property
Erik, There wasn’t anyone like Rhoda 😄
With all respects duly noted, Ray Buktenika was not a versatile actor, and at the same time, Benny was a badly written character. And Benny has a brother with arrested development. I did the "pull a quarter out of your ear" trick when I was in like 4th grade. The combination of these things helped kill "Rhoda."
Throws a box that says FRAGILE - is she an airhead!
Valerie's hair was naturally curly, but this 80's perm was popular in the late 70's, but God awful on everybody.
Yes, it’s true about perms.. however, Rhoda does not have a perm.
Tina talks like she has a cold. Earl is a twirp, but Rhoda has dated worse. Seeing a movie is a pretty neutral event, but in most shows couples go to fancy restaurants.
Brenda should have been with Gary; Benny is annoying.
That bra thing explains a lot
Tina you burnout
The show was running on fumes by this time.
I think the Brenda-Benny engagement killed it. I think it could've wrapped up after a full season, but they cancelled it over Christmas. Valerie always felt badly that she didn't have a final episode like Mary did on her show. The last 4 episodes originally produced were never aired. They weren't seen until some years later in reruns.
Young "women' I mean.....
The scripts got awfully creaky by season5! I am sure Nancy Lane is a nice lady, but she and that ugly perm they gave Valerie in season 5 finally ruined Rhoda for me. Plopping Rhoda into a surprise public onstage situation is a convention they used with the Michael Delano vegas lounge lizard character, too. Brainless fun, but i could not keep my attention focused for even 25 minutes. This episode is a STINKER!!
I have to say that as an Individual who watched this show when I was a young adult and now seeing it as someone over sixty this show is NOT FUNNY it is about a WINEY ADULT WOMEN who ONLY WANTED TO BE MARRIED and then when she did, SHE WINED to JOE about EVERYTHING. and this episode was NOT FUNNY Rhoda was at her best on the Mary Tyler Moor show but this RHODA is crap.
Pepe Le Pew
Lame episode.
Terrible, unfunny episode, cheap jokes, unreal characters. The big joke with his parents is he hast to go to bed at nine because he gets up at four am, not for work, but because he goes to bed at nine!!!!! WHAT A ZINGER.
I am so over people coming on here just to run down this show. If you don't like it, DON'T WATCH!
Your reply is a zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
OMG!!! I can't stand Brenda's neediness. I hate the eps with her in it.
Yes! She's incredibly annoying! And so desperate for a man.
And , I can’t stand her Marge Simpson voice. She acts like she is an immature 15 year olld. Shouldn’t she be 26 by this season
Guess her weight? No. I don't miss the 70's.
Is this Jewey enough for you?
