Pat Paulsen was a great comedian, exposing the hypocrisy, corruption, crimes, narcissism, perversion, and savagery among politicians, preachers, businessmen, and the masses.
Saw him live-early 80's-owned the room. During routine - this guy yells out, "we love you Pat ." Paulsen yells back, " now we know who has snow for sale ".
Patrick Paulson was the candidate for the ages. Back when politics was fun. No matter what side of the aisle you were on. Smothers Brothers with Pat Paulson etc. was the most watched show when I was in the army during the Viet Nam era.
Pat Paulson’s comedic delivery is exceptional! With his straight faced seriousness only he can make the comment to Just Shut Up! 😂😂🤣 Thank You Pat for all the Greatest Laughs and MGBY!
I had the privilege of seeing him perform in 1968 at Sweet Lorraine's Cafe in Southfield, Michigan. Small venue. Only couple hundred people if I remember right. So damn funny! What a thrill!
I was watching a old Jefferson Starship video "Laying it on the Line" and saw him in the crowd lol. Had not thought of him in years so I had to revisit this great comedian .
He came to Iowa State University sometime in the 1970s when I was there. I had watched him on the Smother's Brothers show so made a point of going to his show. His comment about being in Ames Iowa was "it's better than a hot stick in the eye".
Pat Paulson was the first celebraty I had a crush on... I was five! My mom thought I was having mental problems. It didn't last long but Pat was someone I did find amusing I miss him and his campaigns alot. This had to be his funniest bit.
The day Paul Paulson said he wasn't running for president, he started walking. The funny thing is that he would be a GREAT president! Now my pants sailed from Missouri to New York. I wonder if this laughter will last. I think it will. Lol.
I' met his niece she said I never understood his sense of humor I cracked one of his jokes to her she laughed I told her your uncle told me to tell you it's about time you got the damn joke😁
Pat Paulson belongs with Dame Edna & Richard Pryor and a few more, in a very select club. They are funny-extremely so yes, but, the jokes have other purposes besides laughter (which, I'll admit is enough of itself).
I'd still vote for him at least he has the decency to remain buried vs. someone who refuses to get off the stage and jump in a hole and pull the dirt on top of themselves.
Classic Pat Paulsen....if he could only be alive to run in 2024. He gets my independent vote, for sure.
Like Vermin Supreme after a shower, give me a protest vote but make it less surreal.
Yep
One of the best straight men ever, and he could string sentences together.
He is.
Vote for Bernie!
Pat Paulsen was a great comedian, exposing the hypocrisy, corruption, crimes, narcissism, perversion, and savagery among politicians, preachers, businessmen, and the masses.
Pat Paulson was an absolute comedic genius!!!! May he rest in peace
Saw him live-early 80's-owned the room. During routine - this guy yells out, "we love you Pat ." Paulsen yells back, " now we know who has snow for sale ".
I saw Pat perform at a local comedy club in 1992 and he was fantastic...using a lot of his campaign shtick here. A true comedian. RIP.
Amen, there ya go. Go Pat - so great to see these clips again.
Patrick Paulson was the candidate for the ages. Back when politics was fun.

This Is More Timely now, than it was then.
Thanks For sharing this with Us.
Pure comedic genius by the late Pat Paulson.
LOVED THIS!! GREAT TV.
This is why this show was canceled: it was way ahead of its time.
Always loved his editorials, and this is one of his best.
Pat Paulson’s comedic delivery is exceptional! With his straight faced seriousness only he can make the comment to Just Shut Up! 😂😂🤣 Thank You Pat for all the Greatest Laughs and MGBY!
Pat 'deadpan' Paulson ! The nation needs you in 2024 !
I think it holds up very well.
OMG!!! I loved this man and his show back then. He was so funny 😂.
I had the privilege of seeing him perform in 1968 at Sweet Lorraine's Cafe in Southfield, Michigan. Small venue. Only couple hundred people if I remember right. So damn funny! What a thrill!

Pat is more sensible than others. Give him a Gold Star.
Timing is everything......and he had it, much like the brothers who made him famous.
Even as a comedian ,made a hell of lot more sense than WH does today.
Unlike today Pat looked like a President. Who’svoting in 2024 here?!
The more things change..the more it stays the same.
Fantastic!!!! Always loved Pat!!!
If he were still here with us, he'd get my vote !! LoL
He got my vote, just on principal.
nobody would notice vote for him anyway..........nobody has noticed i'm Ted Bundy....for years
Hell, he's still getting my vote. He's dead, so he can't do too much damage at this point.
Me too!
He'd do better than what we have now! No contest!
I had a Pat Paulsen for President t-shirt in 1968. He'd still get my vote.
😂😂 Too funny from back in the day when America could laugh at itself. I really miss Pat. He'd still be the best candidate!
His spreading open his coat to show the flag inside was hilarious!
😆
priceless and timeless!
The more things change, the more things stay the same.
I believe he first ran in '68, along with Alfred E. Neumann, whose campaign bumper sticker we got out of Mad Magazine.
Paulsen/Neumann 2024.😂
At least we laughed with them. Not at them.
First presidential candidate I ever supported in 1969. Smothers Brothers were great too.
Flag waving in the breeze...sheer genius !

God, I miss this show.
This my guy for President!!!
He'd win 2016 hands down.
Pat Paulson was the first celebraty I had a crush on... I was five! My mom thought I was having mental problems. It didn't last long but Pat was someone I did find amusing I miss him and his campaigns alot. This had to be his funniest bit.
I miss Pat Paulson running for President, Pat Buchanan and Pat Robertson, not so much.
I always looked forward to that.
I really, really miss this man. I laughed then, I laugh even more now, and nod my head, knowingly so.
Great. Thank you.
The day Paul Paulson said he wasn't running for president, he started walking. The funny thing is that he would be a GREAT president! Now my pants sailed from Missouri to New York. I wonder if this laughter will last. I think it will. Lol.
I met Pat Paulsen a few years before he died. He was, in real life, a quiet and mild-mannered gentleman. Also, he appeared to be very intellegent.
He always had my vote.
Pat Paulsen was so funny, the runs he made for President were too hilarious!
beautiful!
Pure comedic genius......................
Love Pat Paulsen. Funny funny man:
It just goes to show you that nothing has changed but the names and faces.
I'll bet he WOULD'VE made a GREAT
President!
I' met his niece she said I never understood his sense of humor I cracked one of his jokes to her she laughed I told her your uncle told me to tell you it's about time you got the damn joke😁
🤣👍🤔
He's got my vote,
He was my write in vote in 2016. Since he was dead already , he had a lock on the Chicago vote!
2:19 - A rarity.
Pat broke into a big smile!
Best dead-pan comedian around.
He was just awesome.
God, I miss him
I approve this message.
love it....
Pat Paulson 7/6/27-4/25/97
I remember this guy in 1968 we needed real laughs pat Paulson made Everybody Laugh out Loud.😅😅😅😅😅
Pat Paulsen CAN'T be serious ! ...Now, Randy Rainbow.., that's a REAL contender ! ! ( Love ya, Pat )
Fantastic
Ingenuous !
Brilliant.
Still the best man for the job, even posthumously. The undisputed king of the deadpan delivery.
Hilarious! Miss you, Pat!
Classic!
Pat was the consummate comedian.
We should have voted for him. Look what we had. Holy shit did we have some characters.
My dad threatens every election to write in Pat Paulson…
We need this man in the White House!!
This guy looks way better than Biden!
Pat for Prez. Fun joking about Pat for Prez ever since we saw this on TV.☺
He did a skit called Then Came Paulsen. A play on Then Came Bronson. Funny.
I would vote for this man.
Not I would.
I am.
had forgotten how funny he could be!
Pat Paulson belongs with Dame Edna & Richard Pryor and a few more, in a very select club.
They are funny-extremely so yes, but, the jokes have other purposes besides laughter (which, I'll admit is enough of itself).
I miss Pat Paulsen. The flags always make me laugh.
My Hero
Paulsen could do a better job of running this country from the grave than the clowns we have now.
The best ever candidate.
I ran 4 office, then, I walked
That baby is about 35 years old if this is 1988.
Wish that you would put up parts 2-6
This guy is my great uncle.
Let the Five or Greg Gutfeld know...Greg would the presidential candidate skit.
I watched every one when he was on the Smothers Brothers.
He's freakn hilarious!
B a s e d
What a great person to have in your Genealogy!
I definitely agree with the great part! One of the greatest comedians of all time, imho.
Greatest dead-pan comedian ever.
Pat for Pres 2016
He was funny because he made fun of everybody including himself!!
that's Oughta Shut Up TOUR
Pat paulson for president😂😂😂
I was looking for Paulsen on the ticket Nov 3 2019. Neither was Alfred E. Newman. So, I had to settle for the least of the worst.
I think we ended up with the worst of the worst...
I AM This Love
Still Rings True in 2020 especially with Donny Trump
Rings true in '22 also.
(A pineapple might do better than a potato...)
rings true with creepy joe
This is not the 2016 election.
I'd still vote for him at least he has the decency to remain buried vs. someone who refuses to get off the stage and jump in a hole and pull the dirt on top of themselves.
OMG, That would never pass muster these days.
Only 35 years ago, but you could never say what he said now.
Any chance of getting Pat into tonight's debate?
If he'd actually gone into politics, he might have been pretty good at it. A kind of deadpan charisma.
I prefer Pat Paulsen, even if he's dead, as a political candidate for President over Clinton or Trump, who both suck.
