Nice photos. You should get the water pump and the pumpkin photo on the right made into enlargements and frame and hang on the wall. Keep keeping film alive.
Honestly, i don't hate that image quality for a $40 plastic lens. I'm sure having skilled hands behind the camera helps with that though. Knowing the limitations of the camera.
With Holga, as with most toy camera photography, I've found you need lots of sunlight and to scan at a high resolution with a good scanner or digitizing setup. A lot of the low-quality stuff shot with Holga out there is shot in low light and then scanned poorly.
Just got one. However, I notice that the viewfinder isn't masked for the half-frame format. It's just the regular Holga 135 viewfinder, so it shows a standard 35mm aspect and orientation. Obviously not so good for framing half-frame images! Was your camera like that? I was thinking of making a mask by putting some thin strips of black tape on the front of the viewfinder so it shows the portrait orientation half-frame more accurately. Holga really should do this!
Yes, mine was like that too. I just tried to frame everything in the center of the viewfinder. Worked out pretty well for me. But making a little mask would be helpful too.

Thanks! Those are my two favorite shots from the roll :)
Wonderful!
Thanks :)
