- A&Z #996 - Randy Santel vs Nortons' "Munchie Monster" Burger Challenge w/ Fried Monte Cristo Sandwich Buns at Nortons Brewing Company in Wichita, Kansas!! A few weeks after finishing my February & March Florida Tour with @KatinaEatsKilos, I started a Midwest USA Food Challenge Tour. For event #25, I stayed in Wichita, Kansas so my friend "Eager" Ethan Teske and I could become the first two people to attempt and help kick off the new 7+lb "Munchie Monster" Burger Challenge at Nortons Brewing Company owned by my friends Becky and Dan Norton. Ethan and I each had 45 minutes to feast on so much delicious food!! The challenge features a "Munchie Monster" Quadruple Bacon Cheeseburger with four 1/3lb Smash Burger patties layered with American cheese slices and Applewood bacon, with a grilled cheese sandwich in between. There are two huge deep fried Monte Cristo Sandwiches that serve as the buns, dipped in funnel cake batter with ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese inside. The platter includes an order of their tasty #1 selling appetizer "Bacon Crack" (candied bacon), and two giant orders of Spicy Cluckin' Egg Fries loaded with Ranchero Chicken, fresh jalapeno slices, 1lb of Pepper Jack cheese, and four fried sunny-side-up eggs. The Nortons Brewing Company beers were optional. BIG thanks to Becky & Dan Norton the owners and everyone with Nortons Brewing Company for the wonderful food, drinks, and hospitality!! Nortons Brewing Company's "Munchie Monster" Burger Challenge in Wichita, Kansas ($75):
- Nortons Brewing Company opened in November 2017 thanks to owners Dan and Becky Norton.
- Dan has been brewing beers for over 20 years, so they decided to start a brewery and restaurant.
- The "Munchie Monster" Burger consisted of four 1/3lb beef Smash Burger patties, layered with American cheese slices and Applewood bacon, with a grilled cheese sandwich in between. It had healthy vegetables (lettuce and tomato), and two deep fried Monte Cristo Sandwiches for the buns. Each sandwich was dipped in funnel cake batter and ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese were sandwiched between two slices of Texas Toast. YOU NEED TO TRY ONE OF THEIR MONTE CRISTO SANDWICHES!!
- The platter included an order of "Bacon Crack" (candied bacon) their #1 selling appetizer.
- There were two giant portions of Spicy Cluckin' Egg Fries loaded with Ranchero Chicken, fresh jalapeno slices, 1lb of Pepper Jack cheese, and four fried eggs. This was all delicious as well!!
- The delicious beers in this video by Nortons Brewing Company were optional and not required.
- There is a 45 minute time limit to finish everything. Winners earn the $75 bacon cheeseburger meal free plus a sweet t-shirt and Wall of Fame. Please call ahead if interested to schedule your challenge!!

My favourite part of Randy's videos is watching him guzzle the beer. I buy a 6 pack of Guinness Draught a couple times a month and 6 bottles lasts me 3 or 4 days as I usually only have 1 or 2 after dinner, I prefer weed over alcohol, no hangovers.
Sometimes I use it to marinate meat, Guinness has a sweet chocolate flavour and goes great with bar-b-q ribs. I could really go for some ribs now too, dang munchies again.
Guess don't taste of chocolate at all to make,it tastes of iron and I think it a horrible drink! To each their own but seriously yuck for me!
@@puddleduck279 It's not all chocolatey, there's some Earthy bitterness too. Draughts are warm brewed and excellent for cooking red meats like ribs and beef.
Cold brewed Pilsners from Germany and Austria are good for bar-b-q too, lighter taste more crisp, if that's a good term, goes great with chicken and pork.

When a professional eater like Randy runs it right to the edge of the clock you know that competition was difficult. There's no way that I could have ever made it through that many fries with cheese. Can't wait until that 1000th win. That should be an epic victory!

OMG that was huge. Interesting that Randy said in an earlier vid that there are fewer and fewer competitive eaters so fewer restaurants offering challenges so he is inventing them. These now seem to be massive marketing events for venues compared to Joel Hansen or Raina’s vlogs.👍

What do you mean you’ve never had a Monte Cristo sandwich fried?! That’s what the sandwich is, they’re always fried. I’ll also add that it’s also normally covered in powdered sugar with a side of strawberry preserves.
Hell yeah, I was really rootin for Ethan there at the end. I could tell he was hitting his wall around the 30m mark after keeping up with Randy but he really powered through. Not trying to sleep on Randy here...but we knew he was gonna win, Ethan really stepped it up for this challenge so good job.

I don't understand the oversized sandwiches that you can't fit in your mouth. isn't the purpose of a sandwich to enjoy the different flavours all together? I'd rather have like 6 smaller ones that you can actually eat how you're supposed to.
Isn’t a Monte Cristo always deep fried? That’s what makes it a Monte cristo. Otherwise it’s just a regular sandwich.

I'm confused. A Monte Cristo sandwich is always fried...either in a pan stovetop or deep fried. It is only second to the Ruben when it comes to amazing sandwiches for me. Unreal with raspberry preserves! What kind of Monte Cristo sandwich have you had that hasn't been fried?

I had the best Monte Cristo at Garfields in Branson MO. Came with raspberry jam to dip it in. It was a combination of diabeetus and heart disease but it was totally worth it!
