- Here's a brand new top video where I talk about my Top 5 favorite Thomas merchandise lines. Hope you enjoy!!!!!

My favourite merchandise (with reasons):
1: Thomas Wooden. I grew up with them, and... I don't know, they're just brilliant.
2: Ertl. I love the overall feel the diecast has, and the paintwork is lovely.
3: Trackmaster. It's a great idea to motorise the toys!
4: Take-along. Same as Ertl.
5: Hornby. I'm a model railway enthusiast as well as a Thomas fan and a train enthusiast, and I've gotta love almost everything about the Hornby ones.
The trouble is, they're to expensive and Edward & Emily just look...
wrong.
My personal favorites are:

Take Along
Trackmaster (original)
Ertl probably wont come back but if i choose how it would come back it would be like this
-white running board
-updated and accurate face
-same coupling as adventures because they look good in my opinion
-detachable tenders and boogies
-have compatible track to adventures
-keep the ertl siderods design
And it wouldn't need to replace any brand because there are just to many
I only had a few of ertl Thomas trains my uncle has a whole collection of them. Ertl is my third favorite Thomas brand. The only engines I had were Thomas Gordon lady Percy and skarloey.
I like both old and new thomas toys.
My favorite Thomas toys:
Trackmaster
Take n play (two way magnets)
BACHMANN (even though I don’t have any BACHMANN Thomas engines)
Lionel (even if I don’t have any Lionel Thomas engines)
I do plan to get some BACHMANN and Lionel Thomas engines, though.

5. Bachmann (even thought they’re way too expensive!) - jeez I think the only reason why I want Bachmann is because I want the Narrow-Gauge Engines! So bad!!!

One of the greatest models ever made for Trackmaster had to be the flip face engines.

Whilst Plarail was the first thomas merchandise i had, i will always have to appreciate Take along for the great detail and expressions and sets.

I still have Brio and Ertl Thomas and friends figures but I'm still collecting Ertl ones because 1 they r also my favourite toy brand, 2 like u said Trevor I like how the designs look exactly like the models from the tv show and Railway series.
Trevor take along and take him play are my favorite Thomas and Friends brands. Take a long is number one. I want to keep collecting so many of them just as I did as a kid.
Actually Hornby ran longer than Wooden Railway. Hornby’s Thomas range lasted from 1985 to 2018

My top 5 merch ranges and reasons for each:
Take along/take n play : i mean i grew up with them and they have amazing details
Ertl : it's just so charming
Bandai TECS/ertl gold rail: they're just so good the playability with switching the polarity of the magnets is so cool
Nakayoshi: the cheaper TECS the only difference being hook and eye connecters and that there made of plastic
Wooden railway: another range that i grew up with but not as good as the other 4 they're so charming i love them
I had the same Tomy Thomas set you got when I was a kid. And I would love (I would love to get) is a HORNBY Gordon with his express. Because Gordon is my favorite from the show.
I used to have lots of Tomy and trackmaster toys when I was kid. *sigh* so many memories.
Capsule plarail: allow us to introduce ourselves
I used to play with Thomas Woden railway and I found an ertl skarloey. I as a baby tried eat it. I realized it was metal and I threw it on the ground.
when i was around 9 i had the trackmaster set where thomas spins down on a loop and i put the older thomas on the incline
the older thomas went up the hill with no problem
Really? Because I watched one video by Hulyan Maya called "New Versus Old Thomas & Friends Trackmaster Trains - Avalanche Escape Set". I'll have to try that myself someday!

@@thedonggolad9669 Oh, and correction: I watched the video by Hulyan Maya and two of the classic engines (Thomas and Green Salty) made it all the way to the top of the Avalanche Escape Set, but only to fall down on the other side. Muddy Ferdinand was the only classic engine who couldn't quite make it to the top. But thanks for the story btw!

Trevor Davis well they were in separate packages, and also I got a Santa Fe flyer starter set because there was no starter set without a train, along with some other goodies.

For trackmaster, I believe my first engine was Toby while Thomas and Percy were my second two. Also I don't have a trackmaster Stepney which stinks.

Trackmaster, Bachmann and ERTL. As much as i love Trackmaster ERTL was my childhood.
I feel like the Tomica line is pretty good. I've just got the Thomas and Percy longs from 2011 and 2014. They're well detailed for they're size (that being almost as small as the minis) and they look more proportionate compared to most other lines. They also work with adventures tracks which is a personal plus for me. The tender engines are a bit squashed around the tender and they are sort of hard to come by, but they're still great none the less.

I used to have A Lot of Tomy Tomica World/Motor Road and Rail sets and Motorized characters such Thomas Big Set,Thomas Ultimate Set.Thomas At Coal Loader and Water Tower Set,Thomas,Percy,Toby,James,Gordon,Diesel,Salty,Bill,Skarloey,Stepney,Mighty Mac,Spencer,Harold,Cranky,Bulstrode,Terence,Caroline,Henry,Edward,Diesel 10,Boco,Emily,Victor,Bulgy,Hiro,Lady,Elizabeth,Bertie,Trevor,Duck and Oliver
The reason the Hornby characters look weird is because their actually modeled after their real life engine counterparts.
i am a wooden railway fan but i grew up with take along
Wooden railway is a favourite to me, as it even makes railway series characters like sixteen, Wilbur,and the big city engine
The best era of Thomas & Friends toys in my opinion, is the 2000s-early 2010s. My favorite is Take Along/Take N Play, the toys I mainly collect.
My first Thomas merch brand is take along/take n play.
I like Minis too, in fact today I bought 2
Bachmann even makes Daisy, Peter Sam etc. And yes 5 years after her return we'll finally getting at least one piece of new Daisy merch

And speaking of merch of characters that were introduced and the characters that returned in 2015, why did we got TWR Streamlined Emily in favor of redesigned versions of Donald, Douglas, Daisy, The Breakdown train (including Works Unit Coach) and Alfie or even new TWR engines like LBSC Thomas, Glynn and Rex.
@@oliverfan72 Good point. The Streamlined Emily was okay, but I REALLY wished that Glynn and Rex were released in Wooden Railway form. I mean, we got Mike and Bert in Wooden Railway forms, so why not Rex as well? At least Glynn was released for Trackmaster (Revolution}, but I also hope that we can get a Push-Along version of him too.

Here is my list. (With reasons)
5. Bachman: I like how much effort they put into their models. I might as well get the N scale Bachmans Thomas range when it comes out, but their models are a bit pricey.
4. Trackmaster/Tomy: I used to collect a lot of them. I love Thomas toys with motorized engines, but I hate Trackmaster V2. Same reasons you hated it.
3. Diapet: Very high detail, not too pricey, and I must admit they put a lot of effort into them.
2: ERTL: I do not own any yet, but will get Thomas and Jock first. They are high quality for 1980s-2000s models.
1: Wooden Railway: My favorite growing up. Collected them from 2011-2016. (I must admit, Wood is terrible in every way. Roy Wilson must be angry at Mattel.)
I'm actually curious on Roy Wilson's opinion on Wood. Though, it's probably negative.

I like wooden railway alot as its the only one i had access too here in Sweden. Though Brio was easy to come by but not the Brio Thomas line, i wonder why.

2: Railway Pals Thomas And Friends: Im Choosing This One In Second Because It Is Way Better Than All Engines Go And They Still Have The Cgi Voices.
3: Wooden Railway 2022
Just Like The Railway Pals. They Still Make It Cgi Looking.
4: Hornby: I Kind Of Like This One But The Problem Is That Kids Wont Know How To Assemble The Toy.
5: Ertl: I Dont Have Problems With This One But The Faces Look Weird (slightly)

There is one thing I have to say about Lionel and Trackmaster:
They are pretty nice, but one thing I dislike is that they don’t have front couplers.

My top 15 Thomas toys
Degoistan - Probably spelled it wrong there (I included them as I wanted this to be 15)
Adventures an push along - grouped together as they are the only modern thomas toys I would have actually bought if they had reached my local shops in Northern England
Capsule plarail - an excellent selection of characters, and very collectable
Trackmaster 2 - I know its a downgrade from its predecessor but I still like it
Mega blocks - Defiantly don´t deserve all the hate they get, just because it isn´t Lego doesn´t make it bad
Hornby - true a lot of the engines are not modeled on the correct basis but I still like them, they made some unusual characters and the trains tend to be faster and stronger than bachmann. also compare the face of the hornby diesel vs bachmanns
Bachmann - although I don´t own any, they definitely seem to look better and I do want to get some
Wooden railway - although I never had any due to how surprisingly hard to find they are in the UK I still like this range as when I was little I had a blue wooden train that I stuck a paper face on and called it thomas
Bluebird - very great small renditions of Thomas and his friends, more detailed and fun than the minis
Golden Bear - Despite there lack of detail they have a wonderful charm with their faces reflecting and voices in the talking ones definitely capturing the characters brilliantly
Ertl - lovely looking toys, I had a few when I was young being Thomas, Henry, Douglas, D199, 16, Lord Harry and a truck
Trackmaster/Tomy - I had a large trackmaster set growing up as well as some other characters which bring back many fond memory - I had 2 x Thomas, Percy, Jack, Billy, Annie and Clarabel and 7 trucks
take along - I had loads of them growing up - 3 x Thomas and Percy (I had a few sets) I also had Edward, Toby, Duck, Donald, Fergus, Arthur, Molly, Billy, Diesel 10, D199, Scarloey, Culdee, Lady, Mighty Mac, Ned, the oil tanker, the aquarium wagons, a box van, Byron and Sir Topham´s car as well as lots of track, Cranky and the water tower Fergus came with.
Lego duplo - Although it only Existed for a few years it is definitely my favorite, I had most of the characters and some very fond memories of those toys, they are also the only ones I still have in my possession as all my other thomas toys were sent to the charity shop a few years ago.
Miniature ertl - despite their size they are great looking and the play-sets have a very classic charm to them

Maybe. But I want my channel to mainly focus on Thomas stuff. I might do some top 10 lists of Kingdom Hearts and Theodore Tugboat someday.

I have some favorite Thomas brands, Trevor but Minis I don't want to have owning because I don't want any kids swallowing on them because they'll choke and die so therefore the only ones I like to have maybe are Bachmann, ERTL, Tomy & Trackmaster, Wooden Railway, and one more is either a tie between Take Along or maybe Hornby but my favorite Brands are Trackmaster and Bachmann because I like when Trains move on their own.
I'm getting a Bachmann James for myself. James is the best.

Well as I could think about it I like Trackmaster Tomy and the classic Trackmaster and even Tomy plarail I think they are pretty good and I know Edward doesn't even have shorter side rods like the plarail version but I am fine how they look and for the Thomas and Friends motorized it's okay but it's still going to be Trackmaster the same
True, Motorized will be the same as Trackmaster (Revolution), but with a different name.
You are right it's still going to be just all the same just all the Dan same
And also I heard about some new releases will be coming this year like duchess push along Sonny and then motorized or Trackmaster Kenji and I know that you heard about the Trackmaster or motorized Shane will be releasing sometime this year and even some newer motorized sets like the walking bridge coming the fall sometime later this year and probably the day out on Sodor set.

Take N Play really got ruined when the magnets started to become humongous.
To me some of the newer trackmaster designs that don't work are James, Emily, and Edward.
Yeah, sometime they can fly off the track easily.
