I´m really interested to know how the Keybed compares to Arturia KeyStep models (that I have and like). I loved to have a small Synth and a MIDI controller on the same package. But Keybed is very important to me (the feeling, travel, implementation.
Would be fantastic if i could sort of poly-chain with my 8x using alternate notes (if that makes any sense? ) for bi-timbral chords, or set it up as a split (middle c down plays the 8x, middle c up plays the 5)
unfortunately although the synth engine is exactly the same between them, ( same 40 algorithms, 3 envelope generators, same filter etc ) because the 5S has one less LFO and different FX its not possible to polychain them. Two COBALT5S can be polychained though.
@@jonfromtheuk467 shame, but it will give me an excuse to buy the 8m. I suppose another option would be a retrokits type solution where alternate notes are sent to seperate midi channels. The split thing might work with that kind of thing too
I realize that house/edm is your who you have to market to but there are others that might buy your products. The first step of setting BPM is a turn off for me because I play with live musicians and the director and/or drummer is going to control the tempo. I'd like to hear what it sounds like as a color instrument, think in terms of what would a cello be playing - most likely a single note melodic line to complement the vocal and chord changes
Cool little synth
Sounds great.
Does the synth have a local on/off functionality so that it can be used as a keyboard controller as well?
Yes, it does.
Very cool. Kind of wish it had batteries and little speakers like a Yamaha Reface. Maybe for the Argon5S ;)
can somebody tell me how to make delayed vibrato for a patch?
You didn't mention the arpeggiator and sequencer, which I have on my Cobalt 8M.
COBALT5S has a 512-note realtime/step-sequencer, complete with 4 animation lanes.

Feels near identical. Great action. Great response.
hi, does the cobalt 5s have the free running oscillators like the 8? if not, are there plans to add this in the future?

would be nice to have a function too use it as a keyboard extension for controlling the craft synth (blue 1.0) (wishful thinking) special the xyz pad
Cool, cheers!
Is there a latch button possibility on Cobalt 5s?Thank you.
Why it seems that Cobalt 5s sounds more powerful then Cobalt 8?🤷♂️
Yes there is a Latch mode.
@@ModalElectronics 🙏Thank you

I hope that’s not a keystep pro keybed.
