Thoughts on attaching a cell phone rather than a camera?

Definitely! Find a cell phone holder and pan head with a 3/8" thread to attach to the arm. I know a few hunters who have done this with the arm.

Will it hold a cannon g30 a mic and fluid head with remote on it?

You changed up your strap. I just received my camera arm, which doesn't have the hook on the "tag" end. Should I loop the amsteel around that buckle end for the new strap design?

Yes! The amsteel loop should loop on the metal piece on the end of the strap. Email with any further questions from my site.

Will probably order this soon. Any recommendations for a fluid head that has the tilt lock on the arm itself? A must for one hand operation.

I am not too familiar with a tilt lock. I use a reccomend a fluid head that I have been using for a few years. The link is in the description on my website.
