I agree you do need 2 thermometers. The one with the spike is for meat, the other one is for measuring the temp of the surface. I use a infrared on the test how hot my cast iron pan needs to be to get the perfect crust on my steak.

The one with a long metal stick is best to probe some spot where every where around the spot is thought to be uniformally heated and is at same temperature, for example inside of a solid, liquid or gas chamber. The infrared one is to check the surface temperautre: you measure the top of a soup as temperature x does not mean everywhere inside the soup is at temperature x, so it's better be used to check the temperature on surface of a pan or BBQ metal plate.

Shame the thermometer being used is one of the slowest on the market and an Infrared is just a guide only and only giving a surface temperature only.
You try the infrared with a chicken then the core is still raw!

Yea surface thermometer is really to measure the pans or an oven. I would always use the meat one with the needle to measure internal temp. Too risky serving raw chicken haha

If they use uv ray or something near that with high intensity then it could destroy all microdevices and computer cpu

You could have at least switched back and forth between the °F/°C button - for those of us east of the Pond who use real temperature units, hehe. That - rather than a dismissive 'sorry' - would have been more helpful. For future reference. :)

@@MeettheTings Just to play devil's advocate- I actually had a good laugh from the "sorry" 😂 even though it meant I, too, had to convert to F as an American lol. Everyone online converts for our illogical systems, but perhaps if doing so becomes less common, we might actually get annoyed enough to finally switch as well 🤞

Dude. We helped you out of a couple pickles back in the day. You could at least thank us by using the God's and formerly your King's standard of temperature measurement. It's called Fahrenheit. Ironically it's German. Thanks from an American. Good day, Sir. Thank you for inventing the English Premier League.

That's what I just said in a comment. Come on, England, work with us.
