Thanks for teaching newer artists the tricks of the trade. IT'S REALLY APPRECIATED! Can you do a video on just panning all the instruments and sounds, without any other mixing? That would be really interesting and helpful.
Glad to help! And in terms of panning for mixing, are you talking about stereo width/placement?
@@ZigZagProductionStudio panning and stereo width, absolutely! As if all the mixing were done except for the panning, from hi hats and up. The stereo width by itself could make a mix sound muddy if two sounds are close. how would you use stereo width to separate two instruments/vocals/pads/guitar piamo, etc. Thank you. Reverb might be too much. How would you pan hi hats and bongos? Etc. Thanks and take care!
ez peazy! love distrokid soo much for all that simplicity they programmmed for us musicians!
Agreed!
I wish I had someone like you as a best friend! Thank you!
Glad to help!
Ok so pretty much anytime me and my label making a collab realease using "&" it is making a new profile in the name of the collab. For example if the song called
"ARTIST1 & ARTIST2 & ARTIST3 - SONGNAME"
Distrokid makes a new profile named "ARTIST1 & ARTIST2 & ARTIST3" instead of placing the song under each artists profile page.
This happend to last 3 releases we made. You can t use always fixer and wait weeks to fix the issue cause you re always out of release date.
Any suggessions?
See, all of this i get. But how do i claim the Spotify artist page for my second artist name? I can't find info on it. Cause i don't wanna create a team or label. But there's no option for multiple artists.
thank you I have a question please so distrokid sent me an email saying that my music was rejecting from stores and they will not accepte any new relases anymore , so do i still get paid for my old relases or they locked down everyhing for me?
subscribed after this video trully helped put it all in perspective when others didn't.
Glad to help! And yea this can be kind of tricky
I upload the song but I have a problem, if I put one artist, distrokid give me the spotify artist link and the itunes artist link for verified that's correct, but if I put the name with another artist, for example "John & Lucas", distrokid don't give me nothing...how to add two spotify artist link if I put two names? (It's a collaboration between me and another artist and we have two separates spotify artist link)
Can you start a label and then absorb already made profiles under the label?
Thank you for the help!
No prob!
What if me and another artist had an account and we want to separate ours?
Any luck on finding this out mate??
@@anthonysanjuan6363 yeah bro it’s all bad. They can’t do it, you’d have to create a whole new account. For now I’ve just made a new distrokid under the same name and it’s all grouped under the same account
Make a new account and then request artist profile to have them switch stats over to new profile
Questions can you adjust artist royalties with distrokid besides the main artist?
you are the best thx i was so Confused
Glad to help!
If I want to co-release with many artists I will have to pay for each artist under my Distrokid? I saw someone mention that they could release the same track with the same ISRC and it would work the same without me having to pay to add an artist?
I need help with an album release. So it’s a corelease but some of the songs are only one artist or the other, is there a way to title the song on the album with a single artist rather than both of our names being on a song that’s only done by one of us?
I upload an album "A" to my existing Artest acoount, after that I upgraded my plan to (Musician plus), can I upload or transfer, my previously uploaded Album "A" to the new one ?? thx
I made second artist in dirstokid but am having toruble making an artist account for it, any tips?
What do you mean by artist accounts - like the spotify for artists, etc
The only issue is if I have another artist under my account, what if something in long run he decides to delete my songs, is there any kind of protection or something?
Hello under the label plan, does each artist get their own separate Spotify page and all that? Or is it just one page for everyone in the label?
Exactly what I was wondering
@@HalfDemon_999 Did you guys every figure it out?
You read my mind but I still need to find the answer
DOES ANYONE know how to disconnect an artist from a distrokid account that has multiple artists, without losing the music catalogue? I’m trying to separate my artists profile on a new distrokid account, but don’t want to lose my music.
If me and my friend are dropping a song together but we are separate artist and this will be the first time we drop music would we need 2 separate distrokid accounts or just one ? So in the artist name we put each other with the & symbol ??
same issue
Find an answer?
Tnx alot
No prob!
What should you do if you are releasing an album with multiple collaborators on different tracks? It doesn't let you assign different "artist" name at the track level
You would have to do a "feat." section or something
if you need to pay these collaborators royalties, you can set it up in the “Splits” section. it works great, but it’s unfortunately only for distrokid members. so your collaborators would have to create and pay for an account
How can you update the bio and avatar on the second artist? On my artist page and app I can only see one artist, not my second one.
what do i do if i want to have a band that was an “&” sign and another primary artist. it detects them as different people
Very helpful video 😁
Glad to help!
Hi ! If I upgrade to the Musician Plus plan to add another band/artist, will I be able to have 2 separate email addresses to manage both ?
Having the same address for two completely different projects sounds like a nightmare. (I couldn't find anything on their FAQ, and it's impossible to reach them with a request since they now use a Bot supposed to give answers haha)
Thank you for your video and your time 🙏
This is what I want to know
@@babygirl_7 I had a response on another video. Unfortunately, you'll have to use the same email address for all the artists you're managing 😥
@@MisterJoThePotatoes aww thanks for the reply but that sucks honestly 😅😭
How can you add the second artist if you have the musician plus plan?
@@MisterJoThePotatoes Good to know. But now how can you edit pictures and bios for the other artist/s pages?
How do you claim your second artist spotify account if its under the same email?
can i have two seperate spotify for artist accounts bc i lost my last one's passworf if i wonna make a new spotify account
ive watched 10x n still cant get the artist in first place so i have 5 artist plan and i wana add one artist to song does he need to sign up first because hes my artist????
Hi, if I want to have 3 artists and be able to publish them independently on each digital platform, each with their own account, do I have to choose the piano label or is the musician plus piano enough for me? Sorry for my English thanks!
Musicians Plus account
@@ZigZagProductionStudio Isn't Musicians Plus for 2 artists?
Nice video man, very informative! It would be cool if you could do a video on the streaming services that pay artists the quickest vs slowest on Distrokid. I have just received a Tidal payment from April 2020! A 9 month lag...
Unfortunately I've never really seen a timeline for each individual streaming service :/ the lag can be super annoying and frustrating
Ok but question
1st that’s not a tutorial of having a multiple names
2nd what you need in order to get it and how you did it
3rd if you create the second name that will appear in Spotify automatically?
4rd can you explain step by step how to proceed I have an upcoming track in 2 weeks and almost 3 week I have already that I created that new name but the Spotify account is not even created yet
Can you help me please (?)
Straight to the point he’ll yea
That's awesome bro thanks so which plan is good for multiple artists and is distrokid create their UA-cam Channels?
Your response will be highly appreciated...
Musicians Plus is the way to go - and UA-cam will create a topic channel for you, but I also suggest making your own UA-cam Channel too
Thanks Distrokid for making it confusing. Also did anyone notice once you upgrade your account, you can no longer downgrade ever again. You have to delete your entire account, all your music, and start all over in order to downgrade. They tell you that straight up 🤣🤣🤣
Do you have experience with this? I need some advice on this
Question please- so i have a distrokid account (upgrade$36) i uploaded another artist's music says it will be put into apple /spotify ect ect but how do i "claim" that persons Spotify and other streaming services. I know how to for myself but can i do it under the other name. Any info would be appreciated.
That's tough to say - do you have their permission?
How do you add a second artist to your account?
Let’s say me and my friend makes songs together but we don’t have a group name or nothing but we plan to drop a separate single ( my single his single) and we also plan to drop a ft what plan you recommend
My question too. My friend has been rapping on distrokid and we’re trying to add me on and split the price. But I wanna manage my own music and get my royalties individually.
What is the solution if distrokid ban you with out any reason .
I bought subscription and they reject my first release and banned me. Can you tell me the solution plz
If one artist is under a LLC with multiple members and another is under sole proprietorship How do you set up tax information per artist? On my distro kid it only gives me the option of selecting one option not both LLC and sole proprietor.
I had another artist but i wanna remove that artist how i can do
I have musician plus on distrokid and put 1 artist name and it’s verified, if I put another artist name will they be both verified?
You have to verify the other artist separately
@@ZigZagProductionStudio how do you vertify the other artist separately ??????
Hey bro you said everything but how did you add other artists, I Dont have the add artist name option on mine, my account is for 2 artists as well
I appreciate your help 🙏🏽
Did you ever find out the answer to that question? That is why I am here
Yes, go to upload music, and press on your artist name, you can change it there, you be able to open other accounts there too
@ZigZag Production Studio, any idea how to have a Spotify for the artist, in every artist. I mean, I have 5 artists, I am the main one, easy for me to create my SPOTIFY for artists. How about the other? and how to link to their email. Thank you
You just select the different artists in the dropdown menu when you go to spotify for artists via DistroKid. I can do a video on this if you'd like
Question with adding multiple artist on the platform, do we all share the royalties or can each artist keep the 100% royalties?
Did you find out about your question?
no lol
@@silxntecho9389
Thanks bro
No problem!
Can you tell me how to remove a already made artist from a label to an independent account?
What if I want to collab with many artists, do I really need to have the ultimate plan and make a new "artist" for every collab I do? Than you man
right now my account is connected with another account. question, how would I take my account off & have my own account without losing my music? I have distrokid.
You might have to contact DistroKid, that's tough to say
How can I add a second artist, when i have the musician plus plan?
You just type it in - it's super easy
I had a artist that i made and uploaded a song... i changed the name and the new songs i uploaded went to the other artist account. how can i fix this
You have to talk to DistroKid when that happens and use the Fixer option
Could you please tell that for a musician account is it two artists per release or is it just two artists forever? I mean for example I release a song with artist The Svara & J bro so can I make next release for instance with any other artist like The Svara & crifts. Please let me know if you have any info regarding this. Thanks for this video 🙂
Those would be classified as two separate artists
Thanks for replying. So we can have one primary artist and the other artist can change for different songs or if we use two slots for two artists we have to just stick with those two artists and we cannot change that second artist for different release. Could you please let me know 🙂
Which plan offers such service?
How do switch between seeing their splits percentages?
You can see what each artists makes in the banking section
It says in the Distrokid support site that collaborations take up an artist slot. Can you explain what this means?
I'll do a video about that - Spotify and other stores count a collab as an artist (in a sense). If anything, you're better releasing a track with a feature in the title to save that artist spot
@@ZigZagProductionStudio can you reply with the link to the vid?
Can 2 artists have their separate spotify accounts ?
Hi, My last upload was a collaboration upload with another artist. Now I want to upload a new song and for some reason the "artist name" still remains my name and the other artist name that I collaborated with on my last upload/release
I have a same problem 🤦🏽
Does it actually go to there Spotify and stuff tho
How to change artist name on distrokid account and upload new release under new name
I have a doubt ... Can u please help.? Can I put myself with guitar as artist profile?
Yes, you need to do that on each individual platform though
Yea but on release day where does the music go?
but how do we add a second artist
How can I delete an artist?
How to add the second artist in musician plus account ?? Pls help
You literally just type in the new artist, luckily it's super easy (I showed how to do it in the video)
i still dont know how to take someone out of the distrokid to add a new one
you have the label plan?
If more than two artists sing in a song, as I should call it, Me, Artist 1, Artist 2 & Artist 3 or Me & Artist 1 & Artist 2 & Artist 3. (I want the artists to come out as a final release) I hope you help me, great video, I look forward to your reply
Hmm...I think I would do the first option
which plan are you using ?? Musician + or Label ??
Musicians Plus
Do you know if I was to downgrade by canceling my current label account and subscribing again to distrokid but this time to the musician plus account, will I have to pay for all the uploads again? I have 7 releases of my own and 26 from other artist. That will be a fortune for me to pay at once!
I originally subscribed to the label plan then a year later by mistake, when trying to renew my subscription (I didn’t know it had already renewed automatically) they accepted my second payment as an upgrade payment and put me on the label plus account! So currently I’m paying a fortune yearly and every time a released is renew with the extras. I’m desperate and don’t know what to do!!! So frustrating!
how to add artist
but are you need to subscribe to Ultimate plan to get many artist name
hey, how do I claim the spotify for artists account for my second artist? nice video btw
Have you figured this out? Cause i can't find any info on how to do this
@@Randuski did you u figure it out?
@@Jaysonlywish i did. I don't 100% remember what i did haha but pretty sure you click on your profile on Spotify artists, and request access to team, and then you type in the artist. Something like that. It's considered a team, and you're a member of the team for the artist
@@Randuski thank you bro 🙏🏽
@@Randuski do you have to wait for your music to be released to claim? im waiting for it drop, it be great if you knew bro lol
HOW DID YOU ADD THE ARTISTS NAMES THERE
Upgrade to a musicians plus account and then you literally just type in a new artist name
What if it's a group? Me and my friend?
moment
Can you explain to me why Distrokid takes a 30% cut from artists not resident in North America? It is apparently for tax but then the artist has to pay tax in their own country for the remaining 70%.
Honestly I'm not sure - I'd reach out and ask them
@@ZigZagProductionStudio Okay Thank you.
That's a lie my music as a group was released on a different Spotify page.. I paid for 2 bands
