Rumor is Valve is working on a new HMD, supposedly better specs than a VARJO XR-4 but at a fraction of the price, and again supposedly they're waiting for the rtx5090 to launch for its 50% better performance than the 4090 to actually drive it full resolution in SteamVR at 144hz. DCS World will then be extremely realistic!
As great as that sounds I don't know if I could do another valve headset. I'll wait and see what they come out with but I did preorder a crystal Super already so.

It requires a beefy computer, but as hardware gets better and better and somewhat cheaper it won't take long for vr to be mainstream in flight simulators.
Watching this and other cockpit videos really shows me how human pilots are the squishy weak part. It’s exciting but also scary to think about the rise of unmanned vehicles and the inevitable obsolescence of humans in the loop.
One of the only errors that really sticks out is that there's no reflection of the canopy in the pilot's visor. I know....nit picking, but just that one thing.
