    My "show me" question was "can you show me how to work the car horn"- I was in the car park of the driving test center so there were multiple people out and about with their examiners.
    I beeped the car horn made several examiners jump and on student cry because she was on the edge with nerves already.
    I felt awful. Still I passed so- oh well.

    Honestly, Maya just seems like an overly cautious driver, with maybe a touch of nerves. I was the exact same when I was learning.

    I've watch your videos since I began to learn to drive til just 1 year on since I passed and got my first car. Seeing Maya wait before pulling out when her view was blocked by the truck at the roundabout was very good. Since I passed I've had one incident though minor was upsetting where the car in the right lane pulled into the roundabout and I assumed it was clear but he just narrowly missed a car on the roundabout which ended up clipping the front of my car as I went to move into the roundabout. Lesson I learnt was never trust that the person to the right in the roundabout is being safe unless you can see clearly for yourself it's safe to go.

    I think she did well! The serious faults she made were mainly just silly mistakes more than likely due to the nerves of the mock test, and she was definitely aware of a lot of her minor faults. With a lot of practise over the next month, I think she will definitely be test ready! A little more confidence with gear changing and the clutch will go a long way for her! Good luck Maya ☺️

    Maya seems to routinely depress the clutch before brake around 20mph: 14.16, 17.10, 18.27, 23.28, 24.23, 25.47 and 26.59. This system would prove more problematic if she was on faster open dual-carriageways etc. I do not recall her getting into 4th gear throughout the test. At 22.47 we are on a 30mph road. it is clear ahead we are doing 16 -20 mph and get overtaken, there is quite a big tail back behind us. I feel Maya never using the brakes in the proper sequence because we have slowed already by easing the gas and not generally needing to squeeze the pedal much to lose any excess speed approaching a hazard is keeping her general speed down and making general driving sluggish.

    • @starshipsgala3524
      @starshipsgala3524 3 роки тому

    I would appreciate my views on 2 of the 3 serious errors, the first was the bay park where Maya went too far forward and yes it could be irritating to other car park users, at the time it influenced no-one, instead of assuming Maya would leave it that way, she may have readjusted it when/if she exits. The second was the stop at the green light, following road users should know that their exit is clear and if they collide into the rear of of the vehicle they are following it shows lack of awareness and braking distance, no-one should assume a green light means go unless it is clear. Not quite there in this video Maya, really liked the observations pavement to pavement at junctions. Thank you Chris your calm nature and honest opinions are informative to all.

    Maybe the car helped her with stalling but otherwise of u move off in 2nd , you'll definitely stall.

      Not necessarily. with good clutch control and slow feet you can easily move off in 2nd, even 3rd. you will just be a little slow

    Hi thanks for the video, im a learner i would have done the same thing at the red bus turning at 11:49 as i have been taught to give way to oncoming vehicles turning right and the bus seems very close. Is it because she turned into the road slightly? If she stayed straight and gave way it would be ok ? thankyou

    I've been watching your videos for a while now and they're really helpful. I'm a little bit confused about something though and I'm hoping you or someone could explain it a bit. Why exactly is it so important to check your interior mirror before slowing down? I know you're supposed to, but I don't understand what the point of it is.
    Checking your left or right mirrors before moving out makes sense, because you could hit somebody as you move out, and if it's not safe to move out then you can just wait until it is safe. But checking the interior mirror before slowing down, I just don't get.
    If you need to slow down, then you need to slow down. If you're coming up to some kind of junction, traffic lights, cars stopped in the road, pedestrians, etc. then you're going to need to slow down and possibly stop completely. What purpose does checking the interior mirror serve? If you see that there's somebody behind you and they're quite close, are you ever going to think "Oh no, looks like I can't brake, so I'll have to keep going"? Surely not! You're not going to drive through a junction or traffic lights or smash into a car/person in front just because somebody is close behind you. If you need to slow down, then you need to slow down, and that's that. If somebody behind hits you because they're too close, then isn't that their problem? It's their responsibility to make sure they're leaving a safe gap to ensure they can stop their own car in time.
    What exactly is the point of checking the interior mirror before slowing down? When does it ever cause you to make a different decision in your driving?

    • @worlddriving
      @worlddriving  3 роки тому

      Hi! Check the interior mirror in good time before braking. If someone is really close behind then brake earlier and softer to warn them with your brake lights.

    11:51 I don't agree with this one. The bus was moving and then she stopped. Yes an experienced driver could have taken the turn easy but imagine a huge bus coming your way and usually you don't want to take a risk. I think this was really harsh

    Very Poor clutch control throught the drive, i would have thought after 40+ lessons her instructor would have noiticed this and corrected it. Its now going to be really difficult for her sort these clutch habits out. She's also really hesitant to get up to speed even though the road ahead was clear, hence why she was overtaken by the Audi. A lot of those roads should have been driven in 4th gear and not once did she get any higher than 3rd. These issue's are not really her fault its down to poor instruction in the first place.
