Many thanks for your kind comments, you say you worked out of New Street, I worked out of Wolves as a WR fireman/secondman until September 1968, I now do this as a form of hobby, but the railway is still in my blood, cheers...Bill
Thanks for uploading this. The end of loco-hauled passenger trains. At least I can still get one from Moor Street to Solihull. Even then it might be a unit.
Unfortunately loco hauled passenger trains on a daily basis have long since gone and so have the depots that used to service the loco's. Nowadays all we appear to have are Units, Voyagers, and Pendolinos which in my opinion are so boring to film. Thanks for taking the time to view and comment, much appreciated. Regards...Bill
Hello Jamie, many thanks for your kind words, if only we had the variety of Loco's now as we had then at Wolverhampton, but sadly we don't, we are stuck with Voyagers, units, and Pendolino's. Wolverhampton is not a very interesting place anymore. Are you going tomorrow 12.1.13. for 1Z34 it's booked 0949 arrival at Wolves, cheers...Bill
Thought I had seen this video before. Never mind enjoyed watching again as this rapidly becomes a bygone era of Britain's railway industry almost thirty years on! 1:25 is definitely a fare dodger thinks me! Useful for target practice and little else ...
Cheers William, Today there are so many weird and wonderful liveries carried by loco's some even going to the extreme and looking like travelling advertising boards. Thanks for taking the time to view and comment, much appreciated. Regards...Bill
I worked as a fitter at Oxley depot from 1989 to 2005 and i remember this scene very well, hard to believe it's over 30 years ago.
Thanks for looking, and I'm glad it bought back some great memories for you...Bill

Thanks for looking/commenting, yes those were the days, no Voyagers, Pendolino's, we then had a reasonable variety of loco's to see, cheers...Bill

Excellent video. I worked out of New Street and regularly went through Wolves. I still miss the 'proper' locos and stock.

Thankyou for the memories :) Great video
Classic days of Intercity, 1991, end of the blue white livery, in with the black and white with red stripe.

Not a Voyager in sight or Cattle Wagons as I call them
