This is a segmented speedrun of a new map by the creator of Impossible Any%, Gwonkee. It's called Impossible Path of Pain. Note that some rooms have ability restrictions which don't appear on the HUD (most notably no double jump in the second room), as this video was recorded a couple of months ago. There are four segments in this speedrun: one for each room, which were spliced together.

That's not the reward, it's the last segment of the "impossible" path of pain. It's impossible to escape.

When I finished PoP, my first thought was definitely not "too easy, let's make it harder"
That was pretty freakin crazy. That downwards dash cancel in the last section is something I haven’t seen before. Also, seeing that skip you discovered in action is always super cool.
Which skip are you referring to?
@@SalientLamprophany at 1:44 he can briefly touch the spikes without taking damage and skip going all the way around like the arrows were showing. he has a dedicated video to the skip where he talks about it in detail.
@@mirhasanoddname he does and BTW, he did not discover that skip.
Finally get to see these videos. Normal PoP was terror for me, this is amazing!

I remember using Dashmaster for my normal PoP speedrun and I dashed *downwards* on the last dash.
I was like: *This is fine.*
lmao i made the mistake of using it too and kept downdashing (I play on controller so sometimes it doesn't register the joysticks correctly)
Weakling, i died to the wall spikes before fighting the two dudes

You know it’s hard stuff when Fire takes damage on a segment speed run and leaves the hit in.

“This is insane, I’d never be able to do this”

Those are restrictions! It means you can't use Mothwing Cloak.

There's nothing funnier to me than how it ramps up the difficulty of the Path of Pain in do many ways in so many places and then sometimes it just goes "nah this bit is hard enough, leave it alone".

I like the bits that are already so difficult that the best they could do was to add a gem, or some more thorns off to the side.

I feel like that ledge skip is the reason this is segmented. Still pog tho.
When I made mine segmented, the first room took 30 minutes, the second room took 45 minutes, and the third room (with thorn skip) actually only took 2 tries. I think the 2nd room is the hardest to do in 1 segment.

They aren't necessary, but I think they do speed things up a little.

If you didnt know fireborn if you stand in the hotsprings they regenerate your soul meter to full, but need to stand in there for a few seconds for effects to kick in.
