I slipped into a terrible depression (with anxiety, confusion, dread). I was locked in a metaphorical basement for a long, long time, but I got out. Impossibly, I made my way through. You will too. In Dante’s Inferno, the gates of hell read, “Abandon hope ye who enter here” (or something like that). As long as there’s hope, you’re not entirely gone…. Hope can be a tiny sliver, like a good song or a stranger on the opposite side of the street. Reach out for it-even something as small as the sun shining on you, or the feel of wind on your face-and it will save you. It might take time, but its lightness will burn away the darkness. ❤️
