Bellatrix is a Lestrange by marriage. She was a Black. That’s why it was so horrible that she killed her own cousin Sirius Black.
He was on the opposite side. She had no mercy.
Why would you tell the next movie like that. Tf is wrong with you 😂
@@WJones-jf8mf wtf r u talking about. They already watched the HP series? Tf you mean? Goofy mf
@@westfinest20 yeah I know she didn’t have any mercy, but in the book it still brought up that she killed her own family
Just to answer how the Fantastic Beats relate, Fantastic Beasts was a textbook that was used in Harry Potter's classes. A literal encyclopedia of all the beasts in the magical world. Newt Scamander is the author. 😊
"Non main character, main character" is the PERFECT way to describe Newt in this
"his haircut is giving evil" "yeah that's bad dude hair right there man" NOT EVEN 2 MINUTES IN AND Y'ALL HAVE ME HEAVING!! 🤣🤣
Please yall killed me not clocking Johnny Depp 😭
That man traNSFORMS for all his roles. It’s amazing
Looked in the comments for this and smiled 😜
Newt is kind of like, a Hagrid from 100 years ago. He sees the beauty in all beasts, no matter what they look like or what they do. He protects them because they are animals, and their actions hold no positive or negative intent - they are innocent creatures. He connects more easily with animals because he understands them - humans are the bigger mystery to him. When you would find a Graphorn disgusting (19:10), Newt knows they are gentle and sweet creatures that happen to look slightly scary to people.
Perfectly said! ❤
1. Grindewald does show up in the in Deathly Hallows Part 1. He's the guy who stole the Elder wand from Gregorovitch's wand shop meaning he possesses the Elder wand during the Fantastic Beast's series and he was killed by Voldermort after he askes him about the whereabouts of the Elder wand.
2. Newt is still Newt he won't let us in, but you get his background story from the people around him including Dumbledore as the series keeps going so do continue with the series.
Fun Fact:
Eddie Redmayne has said in interviews that he specifically played Newt Scamander as someone on the Autism spectrum.
Newt is at this time (1926) traveling to Arizona to take Frank (the large eagle-like creature, which is actually a thunderbird) back to its native habitat. Newt has on his own become the world's authority on magical beasts, which at this time are not appreciated even by the Wizarding World (it's possible wizards and witches the world over see magical creatures as potentially revealing the existence of magic and wizards/witches, and so are a threat to magical communities). Newt has just finished his manuscript for his first book, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", which will go on to change the minds of magical communities and magical governments. The book will also become a standard textbook in schools of magic, such as Hogwarts.
The goblin speakeasy owner, Gnarlack, is played by Ron Perlman, who also played Hellboy.
Mary Lou Barebones is played by Samantha Morton, who also played Agatha (the 'most talented' precog) in "Minority Report" and Alpha in "The Walking Dead".
When he was Mr Graves, he was played by Colin Farrell (the FBI agent in 2002's "Minority Report", the starring role in 2012's "Total Recall", and the Penguin in 2022's "The Batman").
When he is revealed as Mr Grindelwald, he's played by Johnny Depp.
Yes, the little scrap escaping the subway IS Credence. Deeper into the Fantastic Beasts trilogy, you'll find out who Credence really is.
And, again, Frank is a thunderbird. Native Americans have been speaking of them for thousands of years. Thunderbirds live in the arid areas of the US Southwest; they cause violent thunderstorms which bring much needed rain to those desert places.
Leta Lestrange is an ancestor of Rodolpho Lestrange, who marries Bellatrix Black. Leta and Bellatrix are more closely related by marriage than by blood.
I see Credence as vulnerable while also being powerful.
He grew up, like Harry Potter, as being unloved, being resented, and treated as an aberration. His instincts were to use magic, which for him was a natural expression of his abilities. But Barebones beat him for that; she beat him to correct his 'sinful' nature. Barebones KNEW Credence's birth mother was a witch, and she thought she could beat the 'sin' out of him. By beating him into suppressing his magical ability, he developed an obscurus.
People who are forced to suppress their true nature will suffer for it. The suppressed natural feelings and actions in a way rots in them; it's psychologically unhealthy. They aren't 'evil', just damaged as people. Credence wasn't 'evil', he was just young, desperate for love and approval, suffering, and easy prey for exploitation.
Newt is on the autism spectrum. He expresses a lot of the characteristics of many (not all) people on the spectrum. He has a sharp focus (almost obsession) on his primary interest (magical creatures), he has difficulty looking directly into people's eyes, he doesn't seem to like physical touch or affection, he's very intelligent, and he has difficulty telling lies. A lot of people on the spectrum have difficulty navigating social cues and customs, and they enjoy the company of animals more than people. I think Eddie Redmayne did an excellent job portraying this character.
The Fantastic Beasts franchise goes downhill for two reasons:
-Johnny Depp gets kicked off the production by the end of the second film because of bad press from his woman filing a lawsuit on him (turns out she was a 'little' crazy, and he lost a LOT of work).
-Between the writing and the production, the story got hard to follow.
It's still worth watching for the history; it bears on Harry Potter in several ways. The first film is worth watching, and once watched you need to watch the other two films, just to answer certain questions.
As an autistic person I loved how Eddie Redmayne portrayed Newt. It’s not often that a non autistic actor can do this both accurately and respectfully, and doesn’t centre the entire character around having autism.
This is a “prequel” to Harry Potter. The the house elf was Dobby’s great, great grandfather.
"'Muggles sound... Racist." OH! Te nail on the head. :D :D
imagine being able to carry a whole Room of Requirement around!
And I love the economy of having a 'thing' inside a 'thing'.
Newt's suitcase has a small room in it; in the Potter films you got larger volumes in the tents and even in Hermione's purse.
But THEN, the various habitats are set into canvases hung from the crown molding; they're like the living portraits at Hogwarts except that there is free passage in and out of them.
All the other 'Tardos'-like hidden volumes are single additions; Newt's suitcase has the option of add-ons to expand the volume as needed.
So you see how soon they could have repaired the Weasleys house.
Addison using his Hogwarts Legacy knowledge is so cute 😊
Isn’t tho?! Major sexy points earned there.
Remember seeing Newt Scamander on Harry’s Marauder’s Map?
Where? What movie?
They probs saw Percy and Penelope canoodling in the broom cupboard.
@@NattyGeek78I think POA.
Just in case it wasn't clear, the big bird at the end is a Thunderbird, from Native American legend. Newt was coming to the U.S. to return him to Arizona, but New York was close enough I suppose
So glad you're watching this; it's one of my cozy go-to films and despite it being somewhat disjointed, retains that Harry Potter feel. I really like the main character, but I have a feeling he might not be your kind of chap... We'll see eh.
I loveeee Newtttt
Grindelwald is Johnny Depp who's also Captain Jack Sparrow in pirates of the Caribbean
Can't wait!!
Eta: a lot of people aren't fans of Newt because he's so introverted and disconnected from people, but I live it. It's pretty realistic and hard to tackle as a writer.
Also, my granny used to make us get the switch lol that belt scene brought on flashbacks
Round of applause for Addison knowing what the Niffler was before the movie said it because of playing the Hogwarts Legacy game! That some Potterhead shit right there! 😍🙌
Lol!!! Hogwarts Legacy got me right!!!
-Adison
@edn I actually wrote the comment before finishing the reaction, and you ended up correctly calling out a few more before the movie, so that was super cool! 💯
The 2nd movie dives a bit deeper into who Newt is and his back story, so hopefully you guys like it 🤞 enjoyed the reaction as always! 🥰
Newt is a seriously sensitive guy character in Fantastic Beasts
@5:15 " He a tryin rob the dog, Thievin Niffla" 🤣5mins in and I'm dead. I want Harry Potter Rewritten by you two. Yall are way too funny
Newt is wholesome and his main goal is to protect the creatures. He is like Hagrid. I also read that he represents an autistic character so he has trouble with social skills. He is one of my favorite low key characters. Such a big heart in an awkward and shy person.
The belt scene had me rolling 🤣
I remember watching with my brothers and we thinking "the level of resignation, he just handed it over...we never facilitated the whooping like that 😂"
"Love & Quidditch" Haa!😆 Glad you guys are starting this series.
Happy y’all watched this! I’m not gonna lie, I’ll never like the minister of the American chapter. She was a complete op 😭😭😭
"Daaamn, his haircut is giving evil." Brandon always with the best one-liners. He had some extra comedy fire today.
"He can't have my boy's celery stick." Adison not being out-done in the humour stakes!
This is one of the few films that places an introvert as its main character *and* its antagonist (secondary antagonist anyway). Many people struggled connecting with Newt, but for introverts - if I may presume to speak for us - he is a delightful, heartwarming character. I was really glad to hear Adison say he wants to get to know him further. He even got a Big Daddy rating! xD
I'm only saying this so you can brace yourselves, but it takes a proper dip from here and I was very disappointed for it. Anyway, I think this is my favourite reaction of yours!
I always found Newt to be sweet and charming. And after reading an interview where Eddie Redmayne said he played Newt as 'on the [autism] spectrum', I am especially impressed with the nuanced performance. In spite of the seeming standoffishness, there were several instances where Redmayne showed Newt's warmth and affection while maintaining the character's need for space.
The whole commentary during the erumpent scene is hilarious! 24:44
can’t wait for this one! i love the characters in this movie sm! i think the actor play newt does such a good job ❤
"Why was the thing laying on its back?" Had me ☠️🤣
The swooping evil liquid erases BAD MEMORIES. so to muggles it erases all those weird things that happened. But to jacob remembers because to him it's not a bad memory. :)
"I know her from somewhere".... The Walking Dead - Alpha. Nice you figured it out!!!
You two have the best reactions. You bring new life to these movies. Thanks so much.
i've been waiting for this pls do them alllll
UA-cam is playing tf out of me because I did not get this notification. Great reaction as always, and I agree...enough hesitating. Get rid of that evil with some urgency and efficiency lol
I'v heard a few other people say that as well but I appreciate you checking back in with the channel!
-Adison
This takes places decades before Harry was born.
just to clear up any confusion. Leta Lestrange and Bellatrix Lestrange are not related by blood. Bellatrix married into the Lestrange family. Bellatrix's maiden last name is Black. She's Sirius' cousin. You'll a little more about Leta and her family in the next film 'Crimes of Grindelwald'
Just to be clear, they probably have some minimal DNA in common.
Purebloods tend to restrict their sexual partners, in or outside marriage, to other purebloods.
Magical communities worldwide are a very small minority, and there have always been purists trying to keep magic in wizarding hands. This has led to cousins marrying cousins, uncles and aunts marrying nieces and nephews, and the like. Many pureblood parents are related by more than one near relative.
Estimation is that actual purebloods make up only 25% of the Wizarding World population; at least 50% are half-blood and another 25% are muggle-born who display 'spontaneous' magic ability (of which at least some may be the result of wizards/witches who hid their magical ancestry or abilities).
Keep in mind that some in that 25% who claim to be pureblood lie about actually being half-blood or having muggle ancestry. Umbrage is half-blood (muggle mother) but claims to be pureblood.
The biggest problem for the Wizarding World is that the mania about pureblood status leads to inbreeding problems; mental aberration is more prominent in pureblood families, which is further compounded by magical power.
"KEEP MY WIZARD NAME OUT CHA MOUTH!" 😂😂😂😂😂
“Here’s your weapon of choice, father.” 😂
This is J.K Rowling’s first time writing a script directly since she helped writing the screenplay with Steve Kloves for the Sorcerer’s Stone movie. In the first Fantastic Beasts film, Rowling had a lot of help adapting the movie with screenplay with director David Yates and producers Steve Kloves and David Heyman.
Y'all notice how American wizards shoot first and then ask questions? Same as no maje cops, trigger happy.
Even Tina like a white cop, takin him in.
Muggle is also a 1930s jazz slang term refering to someone that uses weed.
17:00 Damn! Jacob is there because a Murtlap bit him, and he's sick with a fever! He's not greasy, jeez 🤣
0:25 I knew exactly where Brandon was going with this
4:28 this was hilarious
25:19 definitely out of line lol
27:36 lol yall got real excited
37:36 Bother Brandon preaching
Enjoyed the reaction. Looking forward to the next one.
“He do got take it out on the world face” 🤣🤣
Mr Kowalski was in the walking dead too
Also, Samantha Morton (Mary Lou Barebones) worked with Colin Farrell (Mr Graves) in "Minority Report".
We definitely had to get them the belt the spoon the switch whatever and if we even thought of running it would be 10x worse 😭😂 i wouldn’t dare run from a whopping
imma need that script for love and quidditch. i need zendaya to be the lead, storm reid to be second lead, greg from abbott elementary needs to be the lead guy and deeray davis is the evil wizard. directed by issa ray, soundtrack by childish gambino.
when i tell you i'd give them awl my discretionary funds. when i tell you i would live for ghetto improvised spells. like, can you picture black hogwarts?!?! black hogwarts would be the only magical school where christian prayer still leads morning announcements and grace gets said before meals LMFAO
Just in case yaw already didn’t know this series is meant to take place way before the Harry Potter timeline
I’m just here for Brandon’s arms 🤷🏾♀️ 😩😍😅🤣😭😂
He ignores my advances. He will only ignore yours 😂
Can't wait!!!! Love your reactions❤❤❤
You clearly have no idea that many women would be attracted to Jacob. Queenie is not seeing Jacob as superficially as you are. She sees the attractively awesome man he truly is.
This story takes place in the wizarding world but it is before Harry Potter's time. HP is a kind of "coming of age" story. Fantastic Beasts is aimed at a more mature audience (which may be why many HP fans didn't care for this series). Harry is a complex character but Newt is a much more complex character than Harry. They both move their stories, are at the center of what happens.
Maybe it's because I came to HP as an adult and did not grow up with that series. Jo Rowling's writing is rich and she was more involved with the making of this series than she was with the HP movies, making these movies richer and more developed for me -- like the HP books but not in the HP movies (which took out the depth the books offered). For whatever reason, I find Fantastic Beasts a better movie series and more adult. It might help your appreciation to have read the HP books and paid attention to the minor characters referenced therein. We're seeing development of Dumbledore's back story -- as well as Grindewald's and Alberforth's and others -- which is introduced in the HP books but barely hinted at in the movies. Perhaps that's why I love all three FB movies thus far and hope they continue with more.
We also get to see the wizarding world outside of England. We have only the movies because. although one of Harry's textbooks has this title, the stories of this series were never books. If they don't continue the movies, I hope Jo Rowling writes the books. She told us she was finished with Harry Potter's story but I don't think she said she would not visit the wizarding world again in her writing.
Hahaha "Vaseline... sometimes". Thank you for another great reaction! But they do really go down hill from here. Fast. Watch at your own risk...
I'm just going to weird out here because I'm soooo happy. I watched everything y'all did on the Harry Potter stuff, it was how I got here in the first place. And i just kept hoping for these movies as well because, if you can't tell, I'm a Potterhead in love with the whole franchise. Color me happy, excited and screaming on my bed as I prepare to watch this😂🎉😅
Looking forward to this 1 guys 😁👍
@44:03 Credence is what happens when you're a wizard or a witch trying to hold in your powers because the woman that has him HATES MAGIC SHES NOT HIS REAL MOM
Lol "When the Lord gives you a blessing" .....😂😂😂😂
Im.so.glad yall finally did it ❤
i been waiting for this thank you
Ok lets goooo! I was game recording but stop to watch yall reaction! I truthfully enjoy you guys! For real for real!
Wow I’m so happy you got here finally 🤩🤩🤩 also I agree credence is beautiful example of nature vs nurture. Literally becoming a product of his environment.
Also the only move I think took a L was the third one.
yall had me howling the whole reaction 😂😂😂😂
I looove your reactions!
You sound like you sung in church!!! Great reaction as usual ❤❤
replying to the title, it is not😂, but can't wait for you guys to enter the HP world again! 💯
Great reaction guys. 👍Will you be watching the two sequels after this?
Did he say not “ love and Quidditch “ 😂😂😂
Credence is a product of his environment
A demiguise might have prevented many, "oops, I know I am not normally this stupid" accidents.
My great grandmother made me grab my own switch once. I tell you, I never acted up ever again 😂
I never could find "the" switch that did not hurt unfortunately... lol every time I got close the made me go pick another one.
-Adison
You guys both nailed your analysis in the comparison of HP and FB.
I love Brandon's shirt! Did he make it himself?
Yes plz do the next ones!!
Fantastic Beasts series is the prequel of the whole Harry Potter series 😊
Yay!!!! It’s so fun !! ❤️
one of my favorite movies EVERRRE
10:53 “reparo?” had me DEADDDDD
Ah ha I forgot how much I love watching you guy enjoying the wizarding world! LOL you are the best with your comments!
My aunt had a whip called ( asamench) made you a believer. She use to make us get it before our whippin 😩 then hang it back on the hook after she’s done 😢.
I wonder if the actor playing Jacob liked his character in this or Luck in the final 3 seasons of The Walking Dead better? He played a good Luck, but I prefer his giggle at the Giggle Water in the club scene best.
How did you not recognize Johnny Depp 😆
I don't know 🤦🏾♂️...I felt silly after not recognizing that one smh.. Thanks for pointing that out though!
-Adison
@@edn Great reaction though
Love and quidditch I could watch that 😂
I need them to make that happen ASAP!!!
-Adison
New subscriber! ❤😊
My favorite reaction to this movie so far!❤😂
I was wondering next month on the 8th is my birthday and I was wondering if you could react to either bachelor party with Tom Hanks or Xanadu with Michael back and Olivia Newton-John or house party the original or class act fractions. The warriors wouldn't be a bad choice either
You guys have got to react to "The Fantastic Masculinity of Newt Scamander". It's a wonderful video essay about the character.
Not even close but fantastic beasts is still fun and it brought the beasts to life in the potter verse/wizarding world so that’s cool
The title changed..split test? And now my comment doesn't make sense...
Woo Hoo! Can’t wait❤ to
41:25 bruh you gotta mute discord, this isnt the first time you got me checking for notifications that arent there when watching your videos.
I absolutely love your voice! You should definitely sing more often in reactions. That was beautiful @ 49:45
theres a film called "Harry potter and the deathly weapons" and its a fan creation where wands are swapped with guns, im sure you guys will like it
"is that rufus?!" I FUCKING CANT
Oh dang why yall slinging strays at my Boy Jacob. Got me dieing laughing at this
I adore your commentary on Queenie. Absolutely hilarious.

PLEASE WATCH THE SECOND MOVIE
27:46 🐺
5:28 You can’t run away from who you are. 😂😂 Thieving Niffler
They clocked that immediately. -is that the same dude
@2:42 I didn't know Newt was Hufflepuff I always thought he would Ravenclaw but it makes sense 'cause he's Uber Smart I on the other hand is Slytherin but if I test I'm Gryffindor I would never be Gryffindor
The woman you recognized is Alpha from Walking Dead.
He said exactly that some minutes later.
