Thank you Luis, I’m new to MTG Limited and just completed my 4 draft; going 7&2. That’s after my first 3 drafts not getting above 3 wins. After watching a few of your videos my card evaluation is improving.

I think that Grey Hall is underrated at the moment so much of this format is legendary

That UG deck was absolutely insane, it's a good thing he insisted on attacking for literally no reason all the time when the trades were obvious and terrible for them.

my first mtga draft with this set was also with this land, I got that 4 color Aragorn dude and decided to try it, and splashing some other decent off color legends, with a few land cyclers it went pretty well, 7-1

I found myself in a similar situation against Moria Marauder in the finals of my pre-release. Game 3 they got it up and tempted it turn 3. I had a bowmaster in the deck along with 5 other removals spells and just never got them in time to beat the value train

Bowmaster seems like a potential legacy card. Flashing it in as a response to brainstorm seems like a play that could swing a game.
Seems like a ton of cards from this set could make their way into cube at least.

It already is. Heavily played too. Had a small legacy tournament yesterday and there were 6 decks running it main.
I'm seriously wondering if it's replaced Dark Confidant as the best black 2-drop. Bob is good vs. control, combo, and usually against midrange. But he's awful against aggro. Bowmasters is just good every day of the week.
Passed a shadowfax a couple of times after going in on the great hall plan; just fyi, one great hall can cast any two color legend - including shadowfax!

What this set really shows us is Bill the Pony kills any of the ringbearers and Orcish Bowmasters got Legolas on fraud watch.
The more I watch, the more I'm convinced the orcish bowmasters should have been in charge of shit if Sauron had a lick of sense.

The bow lads are clearly a little bit pushed, probably slightly too strong compared to the rest of the limited format, but like making them mythic isn't the best solution. It is not a card that feels good to play against however, it usually immediately 2 or 3 for 1's you and then blanks a bunch of other cards in your hand and deck. I strongly dislike the card in limited.
Double Gollum is a great way to easily get the ring to level 4, since you can chain them together with it's sac ability.
Orcish Bowmasters sure is one hell of a magic card
dunno who thought that a 2 mana single color pip creature that one sidedly punishes the strongest thing you can do in magic by letting you send pings to the face or creatures AND puts an increasingly large body on the board needed flash lol. This is opposition agent levels of groan and is going in close to every black pioneer deck I make

@@chronoarms4821 it's clearly the pushed card made for Modern/Legacy in the set. It's a clean answer to most popular 1 drops in those formats as well as a threat, so yeah.
Luckily it's not Pioneer legal (but it is Historic legal I suppose)
42:39 Why not bring back haunt, block both and make the haunt your ring bearer, and nasty end on your next turn. Even birthday escape uses a blue so they can’t hold up trickery. What am I missing?

He went 1-3 three LOTR draft videos ago with the GW food deck. Black is just completely OP in this set, so if you want to see people lose watch when they draft Green and non-black.

Orcish Bowmasters is a commander card that they for some reason printed in the main set. That thing simply should not be legal in draft.

At around 19:41 why did your Orcish Bowmasters do 2 damage? He only drew one card. The second point came from their discard? I didn't follow this. I loved it BUT don't understand the ruling.....
The first damage is tied to their ETB. Everything else is from additional draws.
Yes, the FLOOR for this card is a pair of 1/1s with flash and 1 damage anywhere for 1B.

Not even close. Oko was fucked. Bowmasters is good, but relies upon your opponents for additional value. Oko just won by himself.
@@HawthorneLTD yah fair point. Maybe more similar in that regard do ragavan. Ridiculously strong but more a slow powerful card versus an outright total bomb. Different type of card to oko as well
oko isn't even a magic card, it's just in a world of its own. But in terms of gross magic cards that are far too good and playable anywhere? bowmasters is very silly
Orcish bowmasters against opponents who don't draw a second card is a good card, but not totally busted and probably won't win you a game outright. Because the format is pretty aggressive, i've had to play this on curve often enough that it just dings a single creature. As more people realize how bad blue is in this set, fewer people draw second cards outside of looting via ring tier 2. There is some card draw in white and black but its much harder to hold on to the bowmasters to ding them for card draw because you have to play around that possibility but if you do and they don't have it you risk getting behind. The times where i've had to play bowmasters without dinging someone for card draw is way more than where i got to hit someone for card draw. Oko is truly busted and will win the game on its own without any situational set up.
That bowmasters play on turn 3 in the first game is possibly the stupidest thing I've seen in any mtg game so far

I am still at the "will-you-hover-over-all-uncommons-level" of familiarity with this format. The slower you go and the more you explain--even if it sounds dumb-- is helpful. I see there appears to be an additional audience that you are talking to offscreen that you are catering to live. They seem super familiar with the set already. I've been the smart kid in the class. I don't mind when the teacher slows it down for all of us to learn.
Most of these videos don't have an additional audience. They're not pulled from his stream, they're just made for UA-cam. This is one such video. If you're still confused on the cards, you could also check out his Limited Resources episodes on these cards.

What a terrible mechanic "The Ring Tempts You" is...
The skulk ability is the big issue, that you can just put it on a 1 power creature with upside and then it ignores the board.
