    In my experience (I've lived in Britain for over 20 years) rice pudding is always served as a dessert, the only time I seen it served at Breakfast was at a resort in Portugal. Also as to the Full English Breakfast, an FEB as you describe is actually fast becoming a rarity due to younger generations being put off by the amounts of fried elements in it's composition

    • @pkhodges1169
      @pkhodges1169 Рік тому

      you know what, Lauren? as i know you'll agree, the full English Breakfast is NOT fast becoming a rarity here. this is not even true of most of the young here. ,,,well, at least here in the Midlands. we have tons of cafes here that pretty much specialise in serving copious amounts of FRIED FOOD, especially this Breakfast classic that'll never fail to please the eater, whether the eater is older or younger or in between. these cafes are thriving in my area. how about yours?

      @@pkhodges1169 whilst for the East Midlands region it might be quite common to see young people to eat a full English/ all day breakfast when eating out, my initial comment was focusing (obviously not very clearly) on national statistics on what people are making (or not) at home. As to if people in my local area are eating FEBs when out, I live in a dormitory village outside a large city in the South West and whilst I'm sure both the pub and the cafe at the rugby club offer it I don't frequent either place enough to know how often it is ordered

    • @pkhodges1169
      @pkhodges1169 Рік тому

      @@laurensteenkamp7693 Hi Lauren, thanks for answering. ... i care nothing about these BabbleTop statistics, cuz they leave the majority of people out and only do a small cross section of people. but,,,,i DO study food, and am focused the most on what people love to eat, and what they don't love, and why, cuz i DO food myself. ... as you say, and rightly so, regional areas differ a bit in food preferences, and even in the Pub Classics they make and are known for, and that's the cool thing about researching online, and travelling around like i DO, and seeing what dishes the people themselves really love and why, and what they'd like to see on the menus that they don't see now, and why? ....then, i create the foods with all of this in mind. ....by the way, i haven't been to Rugby for awhile, but i love the place. every town and city has it's own special character. the people make the place what it is, and there's a special warmth about Rugby.

    • @pkhodges1169
      @pkhodges1169 Рік тому

      that version of the Bacon sandwich shown here is strange. that's not what we call them. mostly we know them as a BACON BUTTIE. often it's served on a bap or bun (a soft one), and the bacon is the English Back Bacon, and never crispy...also, the person can choose red sauce or brown sauce. red sauce is catsup(now called ketchup)...the brown sauce is somewhat fruity and very unique. always, since i moved here from the US in 1994 i've had my BACON BUTTIE with brown sauce. ...never tried it with Frank's Red Hot, but...i have Frank's hot sauce on most else,,,haha.
