Yeah sounds like a tonality fail there. If they thought the question was a trick, or the tone was sarcastic, then you could have a prospect react like that.

Is it that hard to give the price of what you are trying to sell?
it’s just that “once they leave the lot” for most sales, they never buy. For most sales you have to close them on the spot or it’s over.
