because like LCH PRACHAND this kind of light tank is rare in the world & it is also a tailor made equipment for Army's requirement.

It doesn't have a hatch for the drive so the driver's head is exposed......I don't think the army will accept it without changing that.

I can see a IFV in Zorawar lt105. Just need a minor modifications engine front, 11 seats and 30mm or 40mm turret. Now IFV ready
Yeah should have had a front mounted engine and rear exit, side armor is too thick, front armor should have been priority. Should have had a bustle autoloader with blow off panels.
Also no idea if the gun is any use or a toy cannon like arjun mbt.
Edit: i believe the side armor is thick because its spaced armor, will work well against heat and he shells while keeping the weight down. I hope it has spall liners too...

Adding drones with tanks will be really good, we needed light weight tanks for so long but the previous government didn't focus on this. The current government supported it and DRDO and L&T built this tank in just 2 years, that's a remarkable achievement 👏🏻🇮🇳 our country is developing in right direction all thanks to the current government but more work needs to be done, Bharat Mata ki Jai 🙏🏻❤️🇮🇳

It's called Light Tank for a reason...
Yes almost all tanks can climb steep slopes
on a paved road like that most MBTs can climb at a 45° angle, in the mud modern MBTs still need to achieve at least 30°.
Cold-war tank designs could even go up to 60° in the right conditions (M48, T-54) etc.

RCWS design should be improved. They are using same old bulky RCWS from BEL used on Arjun Mk-2. RCWS needs to be more compact and sleek. Also too many optics and sensors bulging out. I dont know but those optice can be an easy targets for a marksman. Or I may be wrong and the large round optic is indeed an anti-drone system.

Right. I also have the same thoughts. Type 15 looks more stealthy. Optics and sensors are also looking very much vulnerable for battle field.

The so called space armour on the sides looks strange.. As it extends almost to the ground level, I am sure it will be an impediment to mobility and manuvering of the vehicle in the field.. Ground clearance of the side space armour is too less..

Normally 1 prototype is made ready for trials while another is kept ready on the jig. Any defects found in the trials are then included on the 2nd prototype on the jig which is then completed and put to its trials.
@@peterasp1968 Thank you for the information. I think atleast 2 would be put to test simultaneously and see how they are performing under similar conditions and then compare. This is my understanding, but I may be wrong
@@ssri5820 That may happen if the buyer is willing to fund 2 complete prototypes. It may be done if there are 2 variants on account of either engine or transmission or main armament options the army may want.

People commenting which it looks boxy seeing the side yes, that's side armoring many light don't have extra armoring they have simple steel armoring....if they remove the side armor it will look like any other light tank but to enhance it's armor they have install.....

But it's for protection.....L&t should have had made two variants one with full side armor nd one without enhance side armor.
It looks amazing ...just look at other foreign light tanks 1. Type 15 of China, 2. KF21-105 of S.Korea, 3. Kaplan MT of Turkey etc. ...Zorawar looks more modern and modular than all these tanks

Its made that way for more protection. The belt is completely protected. None of the other tanks have that design.

Not bad just 6 years after China's Type 15 showed up on LAC.
Looks like there is no space for any additional equipment.
Looks very well armored and equipped with sensors.
But:
1. All rubber tracks?
2. Why is the test on a paved city round about? Does India not have a proper tank test track? After all, India has produced thousands of Russian and British tanks. India must have tested each one on test tracks. Is it because this tank is overloaded and sluggish.
Just watched some more of the video. This is one super comfy test track! And talk about sluggish! Going up and down the 25% incline was painful to watch.
The test track has beautifuly manicured lawns, but I am not sure how that helps in testing tanks.

where in the video is it smoking? It is virtually exhaust-smoke free compared to the engines in the Arjun, bhisma etc.

Need to focus on making indigenous tank engines as well.
China is using license made british tank engines, Germany and the US don't want to sell the design, so the IA should know where to go for indigenous engine production.
