- So, I'm starting a travel show. I've been working on it for months and want to show you the world from a perspective that I think is missing online and across television. Right now it's just me doing all of the filming and editing and scouting and design, but please stick with me and we will grow this thing together - and hopefully see each other in person around the world.
And we're starting right here in Turkey.
First, did you know that half of Istanbul is in Europe and the other half of this amazing city is in Asia? My family and I are here in Istanbul for the next month learning languages, deepening our faith, meeting thousands of wonderful people, and seeing why Istanbul was considered the center of the world for centuries.
But one very special place here has absolutely captured my heart and today I cannot wait to tell you all about the beautiful soul known as Abu Ayyub Al-Ansari. He was a very special companion of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.
And much to my surprise, he is buried right here in Istanbul. Why? How did he get here, so far away from home, and why does it matter?

Subhana Allāh, when Islam enters the heart and soul, the entire body willingly submits to its creator. I've seen the most beautiful change in people who revert to Islam. It's something that is unknown to Non-Muslims. I can summarize it in the aspect when the person returns to the original fitra, innate nature of the human kind. This fitra makes the person in a constant relationship with Allāh swt becoming God conscious, which leads to complete gratitude and peace.

It’s fascinating story as it is for all the stories of the companions of the prophet PBUH. Although I know the story, your way of telling is actually touching and I highly encourage you to keep spreading the beautiful stories of all the great companions of the prophet. I had this experience when I went to Egypt for the first time and visited Al Ahzar university. Growing up in the west, and never had been to Mecca or Medina- it was the closest I had ever been to an islamic historical site that just made it so so real. It was an incredible and overwhelming experience and loved every second of it! Thank so much for sharing !

Beautiful story, thank you for sharing. I had the opportunity of visiting Istanbul last year in the middle of winter, but unfortunately, due to the weather and timing, we were not able to visit Abu Ayyub's tomb. Insha Allah I hope to visit Istanbul again.

Btw, you should try praying Fajr (Subuh) prayer in Ayub Mosque in the weekend. You will be amazed about the number of people congregating in early dawn like Friday prayer..
