I hope you enjoyed this free excerpt from the Lightroom Essentials Course! If you'd like to watch the whole course, you can do so here: byol.com/lrelcsc
I am a beginner with Adobe and started with Lightroom Classic because I was told a real photographer would use that. I always felt overwhelmed with LrC, but this video showed me how easy and professional Lightroom Standard can be. I totally love it and thanks a lot for sharing.
Just want to jump in and claim THIS IS the finest Lightroom tutorial yet! Thank you for this thorough instruction. And it's one that is FINALLY for Mac users - I'm using the latest Lightroom CC 7.2. 👏 37:47 - And THIS is what separates Lightroom from Photoshop. 🤯
man, you already taught me photoshop, ilustrador, Indesign (I LOVE THAT ONE) and know here i am learning from you Lightroom. I always do the Essential and Advance because your tutorials and lessons are so chilling
I was just looking for a tutorial about lightroom and didn't find your tutorial in the first place, Then I searched for yours specifically, as I love your way of teaching ! Thanks so much for everything you share with us !
This has been awesome so far... so many of the other trainings/tutorials concentrate on Classic so seeing this has been great for work flow and organization especially. I'll be taking the course once I finish this portion. Class is well organized and not too simple nor too complex (yesterday I fell asleep in the middle of a Classic tutorial).
😂 falling asleep during a video course is a good sign you need a better course. Glad mine is resonating. Look forward to seeing you in the BYOL community 👍
I just started photographing a few weeks back, including editing photos in Lightroom. While i watched a lot of videos for certain editing techniques, i was not really sure what i was actually doing other than slide around and see where it takes me. Also i did not have a proper workflow to be able to run through my photos in a normal time. So i as searching for a real start to finish introduction to Lightroom. I found your video here and it helped me so much. I am nor currently into the full course, and i have to say it's money well spent. Thanks so much for these ressources, it is really awesome. Hope to be able to check out more of your content later.
Thank you so very much! I've searched and searched for a tutorial for just Lr and not LrC! Your video's are exactly what I've been looking for! This has taken so much stress and aggravation away!
its rare that I sit through a 2 hour video, its even more rare that I like, comment and subscribe but you sir have taught me so much and I am thankful.
I'm so grateful for this compilation of beginner basics and shortcuts for Lightroom CC. Before I found this all the videos were obscure tips or for Lightroom classic and I just wanted, for example, to know how to go back to my original image. Thanks very much!!
Thank you for such an informative, well-presented, fun introduction to Lightroom Dan. Your teaching style is engaging and so easy going. I’ve not even finished this free video but have jumped right in and enrolled in the full paid version of your Lightroom Essentials Course as I don’t want to miss a thing! Thank you 😊
I am so happy I found your channel. I am a novice when it comes to LR but I do want to take my editing to the next level. I learned loads in just the first 25 minutes and I am excited to delve deeper into your course. Thank you and you most definitely have a new sub!
I'm an animator by trade and a photographer by hobby. I have almost never used bridge for organizing photos though. I do motion capture and Bridge is a super powerful tool to organize and batch rename my animation files to match naming conventions. So, if you've never opened it and messed around, give it a go. It's not just for photos.
I am so delighted I found your Lightroom Essentials Course as I didn't know how to begin to use Lightroom and now I am enlightened! You explain everything so clearly and the class projects are a great way to apply what I have learned to my own photos. Thank you Daniel!
This was absolutely awesome! I only wish that the installed version and online version were the same ... the online version doesn't have some of the important bells and whistles that Danny shows you. But that's Adobe's issue, not Danny's.
Fantastic video, truly did a supurb job here thank you for making this. Would like to know how to look at a lot of pictures and delete the ones I don't like so they aren't taking up lots of space.
To be honest, i use the capture one, not the lightroom. But i still gonna watch the Lightroom Essentials Course, because Dan makes just the best Adobe Courses and explains the topic so well, that i can apply new knowledge on a different programm! For me this is basicly the best course for the capture one :D
Incredible video man! Thank you for sharing you expertise. I originally download a version of Lightroom that seems very basic. I then downloaded Lightroom Classic and it's quite a bit more complex. It looks like the first one, Lightroom, has my pics in the cloud. How can I take the pics from Lightroom and transfer them over to Classic?
Dan, I was dreaming to check this video! Big fan of BYOL. I even took the day free so I can do it. Unfortunately my LR cannot open any ARW so I cannot do any exercise! I tried all the updates and help advices on Adobe forum, nothing helped!
Hello Dan, Pls I would like to know if I can use lightroom classic and still follow along with your Lightroom cc essentials course? I'm only interested in editing photos with my PC.
Hey Fred, not really. You'll find most of the tool in Classic but it would be tough to complete the course. Any reason you want to stick with Classic? Lightroom CC is available on PC as well.
After I'm done with the course, I'm going to do most of my editing on hard drives and I don't think cloud storage will be good enough for me, that's why I need Lightroom classic.
Hi! I was wondering if it's possible to import photos from their source (card, folder, etc.) into the Local side of LR instead of importing them into the Cloud side. I want to be able to backup my photos on my multiple external hard drives instead of just using the cloud portion.
Hi Dan. Have been watching your very interesting video, Bring your own laptop. You gave a link for sample files but have not been able to download them as I get an unusual file extension- crdownload. Any suggestions on this gratefully received. Many thanks.
Hung up on "add" photos? I don't get a browse window per your video. Little things like this have kept from going forward for years. Maybe I have the updated version which browses by another means in the update.
how much space adobe light room cc get you? if you are an event photography i'm not sure it's will work with loads of work.... unless there is something i don't know....
How do these videos compare to the "full course". Are the ones here part of the course or "abbreviated " " Reader's, pardon viewers digest" clips. I just bought Lr and am struggling to find the photos on Windows Lr version and the same on Samsung Galaxy tablet version. Would like to sign up for "full course" but only if full course has more detailed info. This video goes too fast for me [I am a senior 80+ ]
Hi Dan,is this the same course that you have on umedy, also will you be looking at the new updates as they're released, apologies for the questions but really like your style of teaching and only interested the lightroom tutorials, thanks for your time,Robbie
hey can someone help me understand, im on the 02 class but i cannot seem to see the raw and jpeg icon in the photo and hence idk what exteension the file is in Lr
Hey Dan, been following your courses lately. I'm subscribed to the entire creative cloud suite. I'm having an issue where I want to follow along with this course, however it looks like all of the .arw files are unreadable. I've uninstall lightroom and reinstalled it to get the latest version and still no dice. Do you know a solution? or perhaps have all of the practice files in a different format I could use???
I wish there was videos to the point if there are please someone tell me casa I can’t stay interested when he keeps talking about other things I just want a course that just a computer and a guy telling u what to do
It's bad enough that we don't understand your language but you have to clear your throat on the video also, not a portrait at all because people don't look like that in person. It's a color art photo.
I hope you enjoyed this free excerpt from the Lightroom Essentials Course! If you'd like to watch the whole course, you can do so here: byol.com/lrelcsc
How much of the course is xtra to this Video please?
I am a beginner with Adobe and started with Lightroom Classic because I was told a real photographer would use that. I always felt overwhelmed with LrC, but this video showed me how easy and professional Lightroom Standard can be. I totally love it and thanks a lot for sharing.

Brilliant course. I'm enjoying it and things are making sense.
Great content that would benefit enormously from chaptering! I bet the total consumption would be 10x higher.
Good spotting. I normally do. Just missed this one. Thanks 🙏
This was absolutely awesome! I only wish that the installed version and online version were the same ... the online version doesn't have some of the important bells and whistles that Danny shows you. But that's Adobe's issue, not Danny's.

I have Adobe LR , will the course ( LRC) work for me? I've learned so much just from your free UA-cam videos. Great explanations and pace!
Dan, I was dreaming to check this video! Big fan of BYOL. I even took the day free so I can do it. Unfortunately my LR cannot open any ARW so I cannot do any exercise! I tried all the updates and help advices on Adobe forum, nothing helped!

Hi. Have you got this in full depth teaching please?
Hi! I was wondering if it's possible to import photos from their source (card, folder, etc.) into the Local side of LR instead of importing them into the Cloud side. I want to be able to backup my photos on my multiple external hard drives instead of just using the cloud portion.
I am a beginner with Lightroom. Do I need to import my photos in Lightroom before I get the Tool bar for Library, Develop etc?
Hi Dan. Have been watching your very interesting video, Bring your own laptop. You gave a link for sample files but have not been able to download them as I get an unusual file extension- crdownload. Any suggestions on this gratefully received. Many thanks.
Can I use LR mobile for this course? (or at least most of it) I want to learn it on my iPad, thanks!
Hung up on "add" photos? I don't get a browse window per your video. Little things like this have kept from going forward for years. Maybe I have the updated version which browses by another means in the update.
What is the difference between the both versions of Lightroom?
Can I sharpen an over zoomed picture?
Is this Adobe Lightroom classic? Or Adobe Lightroom that's cross platform with mobile?
Hey Henry, this is for the Standard Lightroom CC
how much space adobe light room cc get you? if you are an event photography i'm not sure it's will work with loads of work.... unless there is something i don't know....
