Fun fact: the fourth wife, Anna, actually had a decently happy ending. Her and Henry weren't happy, but they got divorced, and they became friends. She got a castle and all while being treated like the King's sister.
She actually got a 'choice' (a choice as in she had 2 bad options and she got to pick what she found the least bad) in her marriage when the meeting went wrong with Henry and he got embarrassed. Henry at the time was enamored with fairytales and love at first sight, but Anne/ Anna (both are used) didn't know these stories yet as the new fairytales hadn't been widespread in Germany. Henry entered Anne's chambers with a few friends and with gifts and in disguise before he and Anne were to officially meet. Of course not recognising the King, Anne stayed polite as she presumed these unknown men were royals sent by the king, but she didn't act in love or go into any of the advances of the King, as she didn't know it was him. This of course caused the King to be embarrassed and he soon after started bad-mouthing his soon to be wife (the widespread 'but she isn't as pretty as the portrait'). The King did decide to go through with the marriage, but he ended never consummating the marriage (we know this from inner-circle documents). Henry’s dissatisfaction was well-known and he was already courting Katherine Howard. On 24 June, Anne left court and five days later an official inquiry into the marriage began, ultimately ruling that Anne had not been free to marry because there was no conclusive evidence of the ending of her betrothal to Francis of Lorraine.
Anne’s agreement was sought on 6 July. She resisted for several days but gave in when it became clear that Henry was not rejecting the Cleves alliance, just the marriage. It was impossible to resist the will of a king and his government, and to risk the alliance. The marriage was annulled on 11 July. Henry put quite some pressure on Anne to annul the marriage and bribed her with riches and castles if she did agree to the annulment. If she did not agree the alliance would fall, she might have been killed, family fall from grace, no legal power, and so on. In other words her choice was never a choice. Though it is indeed true that the cold agreement coming from Henry's embarrassment did grow out to a friendship that was close to a bond of siblings. On either side there were still some minor resentments most likely, as both referred to each other on several occasion when talking about bad feelings or how they are viewed by society (we know this from court documents).
@@liesvandenplas8066 honestly, as sad as it was for poor Anna, if it was a choice between getting beheaded and getting paid the equivalent of nearly £3 million/year ($4 million USD) in today's money for life and a few very nice palaces for my silence, I'd gladly take the money.

The castle he gave her was Hever Castle, which was Anne Boleyn’s childhood home (which Henry came to possess after Anne’s father died). Which is either very neat or kind of grim, to gift your fourth wife the empty home of the second wife you had killed.
Also IIRC she died LAST. As in she even outlived the last wife who lived about 2 years after Henry died. All in all she got the GOOD end of the stick.

Actually at my uni it happened, the girl in the drama society whom originally played the role of Anne for our Christmas musical mashup show quit and they recast myself as that role because she was thought to look "unattractive" so in the end for that number a bit of acting and the song 'Get Down' I was in full drag as Anne and it was just great fun especially as my gf played Catherine Parr and she did my makeup as I have no skills in that department.

@@rizatusz8163 I mean, the actual show was all women. Nothing wrong with a group of guys wanting to be queens for six minutes. I personally think some of them absolutely killed it, though if they’d done an actual Broadway run with all guys I might’ve raised my eyebrows

Is it Ironic? By what measure? They are pretty attractive. I'd actually have liked more diversty in the cast to make it more of a direct gender bend. The creators of Six also aimed - and have widely succeeded- in increasing PoC opportunities in their expansion.

it’s called a voice break i think :) a voice crack being unintentional and kind of embarrassing when speaking or singing, a voice break being completely intentional :) it’s when you quickly flip between different vocal registers
