- This is an overview video to build the 4th axis for my CNC router.
The MCS103 from MAX-Computer.de was upgraded with a U-Axis controller.
Gear parts:
- HTD / RPP Zahnriemen 370-5M-9 mm breit Teilung 5 mm
- 60-5M-09 HTD Zahnscheibe - Typ 6/6W Zähne: 60
- 20-5M-09 HTD Zahnscheibe - Typ 6F Zähne: 20
Motor Nema 23 Stepper Motor WT57STH115-4204A
The router is a KAMI FKM 349VL, the DIY upgrade to a CNC Router was performed 2012.
Great video! Here is the translation for the sprocket parts:
HTD / RPP Zahnriemen 370-5M-9 mm breit Teilung 5 mm
HTD / RPP timing belt 370-5M-9 mm wide, pitch 5 mm
60-5M-09 HTD Zahnscheibe - Typ 6/6W Zähne: 60
60-5M-09 HTD sprocket - type 6 / 6W, teeth: 60
20-5M-09 HTD Zahnscheibe - Typ 6F Zähne: 20
20-5M-09 HTD sprocket - type 6F, teeth: 20
SDP/SI should carry them in the U.S.
As other comments have stated, it is for small parts otherwise the motor will not hold. It will be rotated by the cutting force.
hello!! how side stepmotor ?
hi can u give some more info of that gifted part ? is it harmonic drive in box ? if yes what is part number ... i planing to build one too but ,,planetar, harmonic ,mix of 2 .just dont know which will be good but easy to make
This is a direct drive solution (no harmonic drive). This solution without a break is only useful for creating small parts.I look for a electronic break bud did not find a any so far.
You could try a traditional electric motor break, couple it to the secondary pulley, or axle depending on what you can get, normally closed and simply have it on has the motor receive movement signal, would try to enclose the pulley´s if I were you though, good luck

gooooood jooooob how much for me aluminium suport for lathe holder on your video
what aleation fo aluminium is this?
I don't know, this cheap aluminium is from a local hardware store.
@@TheissHilmar understand, but what is the aleation?, I was cut aluminium but I was have big problems with broken flutes, your material is amazing!
@@gearcnc WTF is "aleation"?
a very nice work !! I wonder if you use the post processor Kosy on fusion360 for your 4th axis ?
For the 4th axis I use the nccad9 (kosy) only. A simpe interface for the 4th axis is build in nccad9. So far I used the 4th axis not so often and I‘m not shure to invest the time to find out how PP and Fusion360 work with the 4th axis.
very cool, I have a subscription, by the way I also made the 4th axis, it turned out quite budget, you can look))
what is the spindle power and RPM ?
Can you give me a source for belt and pulleys ?
Thanks for the video. Do you know where to get the rotary chuck assembly?
I need program of 4 axis cnc. Can you please give me?
Congrats! Great Job. Schön Gemacht!!!
EXCELLENT TOOL FOR INJECTION MOLDER DIES.
PRECIOUS PLASTICS™ SHOULD BE INSPIRATIONAL FOR YA.
Aluminium which grade you have used?
What is the CAD program you use?
Super gebaut.

wow nice
Plz give me the program
Great looking unit. Where did you get, find and/or build the bearing block?
The spindle housing was a gift from my uncle.
@@TheissHilmar eres ridiculo
Nice work. Great video
Awesome thanks!
