My home anyway from home was in the Ocean Holiday, Rosemary and Ocean, thanks for the last glimps of it...I seen alot of the same things, and alot of new ones..I haven't been in Wildwood for 13 years...
As a Montreal kid growing up in the 60's, my parents could only afford to go as far south as Wildwood during the two "construction vacation" weeks (the last two in July) that my father got. For more than 12 summers we did the trek there, splitting the trip in two with a stay at a Holiday Inn by the highway in Kingston NY with the Howard Johnson's motel on the opposite side where we went to dinner. During the first few years, we couldn't even afford a beachfront motel so we rented a small apt 3 blocks away. As our financial situation improved we got closer to the beach and to my amazement ended up at the motel right across the street from yours, the Singapore, around 1974 (it was dark brown then, a color that seemed to go more the theme than the current light green). I am amazed to see how many names I still recognized with even the unchanged neon signs 50 years later ! (Quebec, Jolly Rogers... ). In those days even at low tide, the water was no more than a long city block length away from the end of the street. At high tide, about 1/2 block almost. Now it seems super far and to some extent inconvenient to the point where I wonder if you still hear the waves from your motel room like we did. Thank you for posting. It's an amazing journey down memory lane.
I know this comment is a couple of years old, but my friend Iives 4 blocks from the beach in the Crest and you can definitely hear the ocean especially at night.

This was an awesome video! I love all things Wildwood. I go to Wildwood every year. I haven't missed a year since I was an infant. I have never stayed at the Royal Hawaiian, but I have always wanted to. I really enjoyed your commentary and you kept me interested the entire time. Thank you so much for sharing. Thank you so much for sharing this! My mom and dad took us on vacation to Wildwood Crest, and those are my favorite memories ever! The drive down Atlantic Ave literally took me back in time! Laura’s and the Jolly Roger! I’m so happy it all looks the same! I was 17 last time we went! I’m 43 now! Planning a trip to go next summer, I can’t wait! I want to stay at the Compass were my family used to stay! Thanks again for sharing, can’t wait to see the boardwalk video!! ♥️
Aww Julie, so glad you enjoyed this! There is just something Magical about Wildwood and reminiscing! You really do need to go back and see it all now! A lot is the same but so many motels were demolished and rebuilt with condos...makes me mad! More WW videos are on the way this week!
I enjoyed the ride through Wildwood! Some of the homes are beautiful! I enjoy the Poly/Hawaiian atmosphere as well!! Did I hear the Grand Floridian!!!!!!!! Your room is very nice! The BEACH. Now I want to go to the beach!!!
My family vacationed in Wildwood for 4 summers straight when I was a kid from 2005-2008. I haven't been back since, hoping to make it back. First year we stayed at The Crusader, 2nd and 3rd year at The Jolly Roger, the 4th year at The Shalimar
