Her ear to ear grinning through so much of this is ... everything. Siouxsie is so clearly happy to be back in her element. I went to the only US show of this tour so far, at the Cruel World Festival, and it's a night seared in my memory. I had seen her before, back in the day, but there's something so magical about our dark mother showing us how it's STILL dione at 66!!!
lol @ 24:53 "c'mon just fuking play it"....i agree too much tech and AI, laptops and ipads onstage, when the original song was just a guitar and bass intro. I'm glad she's still at it, tho her voice is shot, she still has a good time and fans love her
Her voice is totally gone, but I'll love her forever. Her 1983 dream like performance of Nightshift at the Royal Albert Hall, looking like she has jumped out of a Klint painting still gives me goosebumps.
She would not have been able to carry nearly 20 headlining gigs all summer long with a ‘totally gone’ voice. Not once did she lose it or have to cancel shows or anything. Has it changed? Yes. But it still has heft. It changed in the 80s from what it was in the 70s. It changed in the 90s from what it was in the 80s. It changed in the 00s from what it was in the 90s. And now, mid-60s, post-menopausal, having conquered an astonishing career that spanned 4 decades across 3 bands (Banshees, Creatures, solo), recording and touring non-stop across nearly 20 albums and literally hundreds of songs before she took a break, well, I think she sounds fucking great. I think her deeper more sepulchral voice suits the songs she’s chosen to sing. And the band's sound is deeper and darker and aligns with her current vocal tone. So, as someone who believed she had ‘Greta Garbo’d’ her way into retirement, I for one, am so glad she decided to return.
I have to disagree, from what I can tell in this video her voice sounds the same as it always has. Maybe a bit less power, but at her age she's doing a damn fine job. She always sang on the flat side of the scale, but that's what gave her her sound. Go Siouxsie!
Her legendary meditation on the Jack The Ripper figure - never caught . She still has some curves ! Juju album has never been equalled , even by Siouxsie and the boys . I didnt realize she could still put on a deep show . Im impressed .
Wowww!!!! I cant believe this was just a few weeks ago!! She has aged well and still sounds good!!! I was recently thinking of how she is doing and then VOILA! here she is in full glory!!!!
Funny, when we were doing this back in 70's / 80's, didn't even dream that we would still be playing these songs as pensioners!! Glad I was there when it meant something!
But gigging the same songs over and over is better than real work. i know cos I sort of do both. Love to Siouxie. We had some fun back then on the road didnt we?@@helenparnaby88
Souxie and the banchees had some great songs. It’s great hearing them live again. Would prefer a more professional video and audio recording and if souxie soux had been better prepared, fit and ready to take these songs back on the road. 🤔
Im talking about when it was happening and not a butlins nostagia funfare ride. If you were a part of them times you'll know what i mean@@claudioduffrayer
@@blackcloudsovereurope really? I’m not the one that said she has a pooch. Don’t get me wrong….how many black straight guys love Christine, Kiss Them For Me, Dear Prudence, and Cities in Dust? I wish she would do more concerts in the States!! I’ve been wanting to see her ever since I was introduced to her in the early 90’s! After doing some research on her I discovered that she’s a Gemini as I am 😊 And a huge Cat Lover ❤ Such as me too!! I absolutely adore her and her music/voice makes me smile and happy when I am down😢 Thank You for all the people that uploaded her concerts.. I have watched every single one of them!! Don't worry. She'll be back. 2024 is the year for writing and recording in Sioux Land. These very same people are working on some new heavenly hellish devilry.
Pretty good, Madame Sioux. I'm hoping that some (or all) of this performance was professionally recorded for posterity. Thank you for uploading such well recorded footage. I really hope she and her long-time band of Gents go in to the studio and conjure up some new magic and sorcery, for 2024. Goodness and Darkness know We need it...

Good set that. HKG was the first grown up single I bought. I once dreamed I had to fill in for Robert Smith for a Banshees gig. Don't remember doing any Cure songs though.
Siouxsie was at the top of her vocal game between 1986 ("Tinderbox") and 1999 ("Anima Animus"). I simply adored her. I was so intoxicated with her mysterious, atypical, intense voice that no other singer ever made a bigger impression/influence on my own singing. Since then, sadly, for whatever reason (medical?), her voice dramatically degraded. She first lost the higher notes, then the intensity, then it started sounding like she couldn't catch a breath. What's left of her voice now, can only appeal to hardcore fans. :-( Still a fascinating stage animal, though. :-)
This is a good analysis of her voice, could you write me right here similar summary of Marilyn Manson’s voice please?I think he is the same case as Siouxsie is.
she has a autoimmune disease she neglected and had laryngitis multiple times, just smoking won’t cause that much of a decline. it is a show for fans though, as a huge fan i thoroughly enjoyed it and accepted her voice was gone a long time ago
Alright, so I grew up on Siouxie, hearing her on the radio and not even knowing who she was but entranced by her voice. I still have the poster I got in 1981 of her. When , in my 20’s, I finally took the plunge and went full goth, she was my muse. I recently went a while with her not even on my radar when my husband and I were watching Stranger Things 4 and the ending credits, it was Siouxie. Literally, my entire life played before my eyes as I went into immediate pure bliss. I don’t know if she’s aware of the effect that she has had on people’s lives…but in this Odd goths life the impact was ….shit, I can’t even think of a word that would describe it correctly. The fact the her voice has gotten deeper and a little slower that didn’t really bother me, ffs, she’s almost 70. What broke my heart, was the sound of her trying to catch her breath… She still has that entrancing stage presence…good gawd, amazing.
The band isn't a patch on the original Banshees ! And the drummer is no budgie thats for sure . Siouxsie is still great for her age but she needs a better band than that .
Night Shift ❤❤❤ Rock it, Siouxsie! Love you! My daily routine entails the following: "Alexa, play music by Siouxsie and the Banshees." I never tire of her and their music. My knowledge of her music has been expanded greatly because of this. Her early music is some of my favorite. Definitely my favorite group of all time!
The audio engineer, it is seen that he is new in the environment, because he struggled a lot in the arrangements and musical effects. Good for the theatrical gothic punk rocker woman.
She's still got style and star power that's for sure. On a side note, it's amazing how BBC Sounds supports only a few festivals like Glastonbury and particularly Latitude which is comparatively small, with its 45,000 attendees, yet resolutely ignores other really popular festivals, particularly Download with its 100,000 metalheads.
28:40 Ever since I first saw that purple Vox teardrop on the Nocturne vhs I have been looking for one. Had a watch on it on ebay for years but never. My take from this is that it's custom painted/refinished. Glad it's still around!
I got to see the back of them for a half of a song as my brother knew them when they played Perkins in Pasadena,Ca. 1981. I got in mid set and he said I didn’t know you were bringing your girlfriend…… I couldn’t leave her outside looked at my brother, shook my head in disappointment and left. The Vox Teardrop goes back earlier than that. Saw the Banshees on the Kaleidoscope tour and that splendid guitar made an appearance then. I'd been into the band since '78 but that was the first time I saw Siouxsie play guitar.
I saw the Banshees live, as a 15 year old Punk, in 1978. Hard to believe that’s 45 years ago and I’m now 60!

Believe are believes... Sunny nightshift man 😎😉
So you saw Siousxie when she still had a voice. That must have been a wonderful experience. Unlike this.
Sadly only saw them once in Belfast when Sioux had the injury to her knee and had to sit the whole time. Still amazing though
I grew up with you Siousxie...You gave us the ultimate teen years...Always love you ❤
The queen of Goth. Saw her back in the day with Steve, John McGeoch and Budgie. One of my favorite concerts of all time.
And after McKay and McGeoch departed the music declined in a big way 😞
Jealous
0% nudity, 0% auto-tune, 100% music. A living icon. She had moved many people - in a positive sense. From the 80´s until today.
70s.
Thank God for the 0% nudity here.
70s really straight out of Chiselhurst into The Bromley Contingent and punk rock
actually there is about 15% auto-tune on there and about 50% out-of-tune
I saw them in the 70s. 🙂
I think Siouxsie’s darker and more frail voice has grown on me. I _love_ how the band plays the music a bit darker to fit her new tone
I agree. I can't wait to see what her upcoming material will sound, in this musical/vocal landscape.

yeah, her voice does not sound to good as of now, oh well, she gave it her best for going on 70!
In the later 2023 shows she's actually improved a TON

65 and she’s proving to herself people value her.
Sorry to say that this video clip captures nothing but mediocrity. It’s all just nostalgic posing. So sad because there’s nothing new here.
Still sounds good?! Maybe you had better start smoking higher quality crack. What you're smoking now has clearly impaired your hearing!
Have many of her records... also the Creatures side project is superb. What can I say... she is a True OG.
Pure gold.A unique talent blossoms into its fullest expression and artistic wealth.
She has been such a great influence and continues to be. Fantastic musician 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤
