I can tell you personally that my access to technology has significantly improved my academics. It has helped many of my friends. The resources and communities available online simply dwarf anything a single teacher, parent, or textbook could offer. I honestly think young people today are better than their parents at discerning what is and is not a credible claim - we have had to. This is what our status as the first digital natives does for us: we have been shaped by a society severely short on trust. I contend that the ideas you encounter should affect you, even if not in the way the author hoped: every single one. Also, of course a better speech could’ve been done; she’s in 8th grade.
Gen Z has got nothing new to bring to the table. All they do is criticize our cultural success and dismiss the achievements of the past. They are the generation of cancel culture and information bias.
