I quit playing the game for that reason, and submitted a complaint to nintendo....theres no point making a gem retrieval that doesn't work or aim....

Is my game glitched? It gave me a heart instead of gem #5

Me too. It gave me heart, not gem. I had to go back to the telescope for the bird to get the gem and put to barrel. Hope this will work

You're supposed to look at the gem until a bat swoops in and puts it inside the barrel... I'm also pretty sure this only work ls on the first level, but I could be wrong... Worked for me...
