Yes I too remember another divine performance of the raga Bilaskhani Todi, at the Kala Mandir, Theatre Road, Kolkata (then Calcutta). It was exactly on the 26th January 1972, morning about 10 am. I was one in the audience; I was a student then. The artist was Vilayat Khan, playing his sitar. The concert continued for about 1 hour and a half. Khan Saab was wearing a spotless white kurta-pajama, with a small diamond ring on his right finger. I also remember the brilliant sparkles of bluish white light emanating from his fingers while he was playing the "jhala," which beautifully complemented the divine sound. Everybody in the audience was mesmerized.
Her rendition is always closed to my heart 💖. She too had the quality of acquiring name and fame like other real violinists.My folded hands Pranam to this great personality . Soulful music is the outcome of her real mind.

Thank you for uploading this very beautiful elaboration of Bilaskhani Todi raag. The artist's tone is so resonant and pure! I am wondering whether she is playing a viola for the initial part. She differentiates the raag from Komal Rishabh AsAvari raag, another marvelous expression of KaruNa-ras. DhanyvAd!
What a soulful rendition!! How she brings out the elemental pathos and detachment of this mind-boggling raag. She is one of the best.
