Nice to see, there is quite a lot of non barrier crossings, I’m quite surprised about that. Is the shot At 4:44 in private land? Or did you just walk through.
Great videos of those nice open crossings! 👍👍 Don’t know if you’re aware about this already, but Okeltor and Sandways are soon to be upgraded to AOCLs in April/May this year (although I think it’s pretty obvious with the road closure and groundwork going on at the latter). Terras and Lodge Farm are also soon to be upgraded to ABCLs around a similar time I believe.
A shame about the too on the Looe branch getting barriers, but at least the 2 on the gunnislake branch will continue to operate without. Also, due to the ‘Cornwall metro’ / levelling up fund, Tregoss Moor will have barriers too, as that is where they will put the passing point for the Newquay branch.
@@steamtothewest-trecanrailthere now actually not making okeltor an aocl there making at an ahb as Van's have got hit by trains in the past as the green fence has been played like salmon pool
@@levelcrossingcreations3731 Indeed so! AOCL is not the favoured protection upgrade for rural branches that it was in the 1970s and 80s. There's been far too many collisions and near misses at them. The upgrades will reduce unnecessary stress to train drivers as well as improving public safety. Terras, Okeltor and Sandways in particular have had a lot of incidents because, when seeing trains stop short before restarting (as the criteria require), road users believe that train drivers are 'waving them across'.
Nice to see that Teras crossing had the old BR days Stop signs for road traffic, instead of the more modern triangular Give Way ones. It's a shame in a way that Teras and Lodge farm crossings are now ABCLS.

Brilliant!
I'll have to do every gated level crossing next.

Looks like golant crossing has got a very steep slope for cars to climb up
It does, down to the water, though few cars use it
@@steamtothewest-trecanrail yeah
It's a boat slipway that happens to cross a railway on the level just before the foreshore☺
Is lanjeth abbandonded?
😀👍
Thank you
Sandways has now been upgraded to AOCL
Sad 😔
