It would be helpful if, in every video, you show the settings that you personally use. Like, I understand you say don’t go lower than 50 for color and it’s preference up to 100 but it would be cool to always see the settings you personally use
I have played this game religiously since pre alpha everyday. It's my favorite multiplayer sandbox of all time. Game looks great and probably one of the best looking HDR games on Xbox still imo but I've always had trouble getting the HDR settings right. So I thank you for this video Amok. A tip that I found from some pro streamers that seems to make the game pop even more and be able to see further distances is to go to settings in the game scroll down to graphics settings and click over to "colour blindness filter mode" change it to Green-Red. Then click down to "colour blindness filter strength" and push it to 1.0. Some may like it higher but I've found that 1.0 looks great 😎👍
The HDR in this game is completely random, they expand the color range and over saturate everything, the game loses its artistic look and clearly wasn't designed for these colors. Some scenes, like the Monkey Island DLC, are hard to look. RenoDX has a fix for this.

I’m curious if you are going to start reviewing OLED monitors in the future, I think it will be great as there a bunch of new OLED’s monitors just came out in the market this year. But no one is reviewing or analyzing the HDR quality in a deep way for these monitors.
I love the HDR in this game, i've only played Xbox App version on PC though. I felt it had very good contrast and blacks did feel deep enough imo, i don't have measuring equipment so i cannot be sure but the HDR settings were similar with peak brightness also increasing overall brightness of the game and same with the other setting so it took a while to find perfect HDR settings for me.
The PC version's HDR implementation was fixed by ShortFuse from the "HDR Den" Discord, but the anticheat update broke it :(. The game looked extremely good in HDR with the fix.
HDR games also always need a brightness slider. Just setting the peak nits and paper white isnt enough. Like Diablo 4 being overall too bright that i ended up using rtx hdr and lowering the in-game sdr brightness slider to create that darker atmosphere.
I have a issue with HDR in SoT it looks nice and all, but when I go to the lower levels of the ship , sloop. Brig or galleon on the places with out windows at night, the contrast looks gray like if they rise the brightness, but if I move the camera(the view) the game look great again with the wood color of the ship pop and the lights of the candles perfect, but it’s only momentarily and again looks like a gray filter on top. I thought was my monitor doing a black level something for “gaming” but I have all that disable I follow rtings settings and Reddit tips for my monitor, but this issue only happens on this game and only in the nights and in the darker areas of the bottom of the ship, it bothers to me so much that I can’t play with hdr , so I play with sdr on sea of thieves and this issue doesn’t appear
I feel like DTM On is always an easy solution for every HDR game a lot get released with bugy sliders or Dim HDR so it's like a quick fix even if it's not accurate it's still look good but for me personally even though it's sometimes gimmicky I will always prefer HGIG.
HATE it when players say a game is broken on PS5, WHEN THEY ARE PLAYING THE FUCKING XBOX VERSION. I am 50 hours in with the update on PS5, and the game runs like a dream on QUALITY mode, with zero bugs or crashes. The game does NOT have issues on PS5, so please stop talking crap!

The game looks HDR looks great on pc! No blsck lvl floor raise either , just 50/50 brightness and 1060 nits peak for my Alienware monitor gives amazing image maybe even too dark, same for my Samsung s90c I just change peak to 1300 when it clips
There isn’t a single QD-OLED monitor that can do 1060 nits. The monitors, aren’t nearly as bright as their TV counterparts. The new LG ultrawide WOLED with MLA can do 1200 nits

Hi Markus, you own a G2, right? I found out that the 2022 LG OLEDs support 'color boost' if you use Filmmaker HDR mode. Bright and saturated colors are displayed at a higher brightness than in the Game Optimizer HDR mode, it's really a big difference. Latency is a bit higher, but as the consoles have ALLM it's not an issue. Or a PC with PC input (444 chroma) should also have 'Low Latency ON' in the Game Optimizer Popup. Let me know what you think 👍

@@teddyholiday8038 this is not weird, this is intentional, probably due to burn in prevention. The Game Optimizer modes in HDR but also in SDR are really gimped. You're not even getting the peak brightness setting in SDR
Imo the PS5 has terrible HDR for every game that’s not a Sony or EA made game. I always find it much too dark, then switching over to my Xbox produces much better HDR presentation for all games.

Funny how on my LG C3 I have to go up to 4000 HDR Max Brightness in order for the image inside the square to disappear.

Best option on Xbox is disable Hdr in this game, I play all other games with Hdr on. This is the only game where my best solution was turn it off.

Lg oled 8oohdr then hdr brightness 54 on ps5. Now if you got xbox series X use Dolby Vision and its beautiful. I have it on both.

They fixed this with the new G4. You get full color luminance in game mode
