I love karambits and have a few custom made designs but in a jungle or survival it's not really reliable unless it has a significant size like the ones i have. a good bolo or machete is your best option for those situations cause in my experience since childhood a good hefty blade coupled with the know-how is all you'll need to forage throughout the wilderness.

Parangs are used for chopping, not cutting, there is a difference. The only real use for that Karambit would be if you wanted to slit someones throat and then hide the weapon in your pocket. Like I sayd before a 10$ Mora fixblade knife is million times more useful in a camping/survival situation than Karambit.
It's a very effective self defense tool for people that know how to use them. I've seen them used and they cause a lot of damage with the correct martial arts teacher. I'm not that guy. It looks cool, but I handle my sig 229 better.

michael moore works great for what it is. For twigs mild sized branches etc. works for me. I like the locking of the saw too. Just makes it safer. I’m going to be taking it with me when I’m on the Appalachian trail later this year

I can see some value in a few fishing hooks or needles but not enough if you don't carry thread or line with them too. Have they managed to reduce the shock from using it like an axe? Poorly made axes can be painful when trying to cut through a tree.
