I wish there was a way to get a keyboard out there for Lacamoire because every time I see him playing that melodica I can't stop laughing.
They put on such wonderful performances, I just can't get over the melodica.
+Kate Pilbeam he loves his melodica, why must you seek to punish him?
I know I’m 4 years late to the party but we need John Batise vs. Lacamoire vs. Jacob Collier in a melodica battle.
@@thomasa.1551 omg yassss
The only person I've seen use a melodica more often is Blaine Thurier of The New Pornographers.
God, VIOLINISTS WERE KILLING IT!!!!!!
THEY GAVE ME CHILLS. SO BEAUTIFUL
Violinists, Violist(who also doubles as Violin in the show), AND Cellist KILLING IT, I agree!!!
I just realized that guy violinist did the guitar solo 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
that bearded guy on the violin could win against the devil
ezelle brown it’s a viola
@@johncopeland5111 It's not tho. The asian woman plays the viola. And the string solo is on the violin :)
He's also Peter Dinklage's brother
@@johncopeland5111 a viola would never make that good of a sound. #linglinginsurance
I love how the pit is recognized!! Usually, the pit does not get enough credit for their hard work. Lin is awesome!
There is no one else on the planet who can give me chills by playing a melodica.
I didn't realize there were others on the planet who indeed did play it.
OMG it's the orchestra. As a violinist I am so happy that Lin recognizes the wonderful musicians that aren't always appreciated as much as they should be. And God I am so jealous of them. This is THE show to be in the pit. They're all so amazing 😍
Literally life goals to be in the pit for a show like this
SAME
Right?! I am seething with jealousy.
SAME! What instrument do you play? I play trumpet, and learning piano, and am learning guitar.
@@emmyruegg5596 wow! I know you didn’t ask me, but i feel the same for the comment that we’re replying.... i play drums. I learned a tiny bit of music theory through piano & guitar but i knew i sucked at it so i focused more on drums 😅
As a musician often confined to the pit, I love this!
Grace Gibson aspiring pit musician here- how did you like get good enough to like well. be a pit musician?
@@emmyruegg5596 Depending on your instrument; lots of practise, lots of sight reading practise, lots of improvisation practise, and lots of musical theory knowledge. Often the scores given are pieces of utter fucking shit so you'll need to either be really good to play them, pick and choose the parts that are important and play those, or worse case you will just have to improvise your own part from the music given and the other player's parts.
"Wow!" as Lin disappears very quickly XD
I love how Lin makes the gunshot noise at 2:46!! What a cutie... he gets to be part of the band! :')
If you make a movie this should be the intro song. No joke
I think it would fit better in the credits
Lautaro Castaño same
Lin has said that this will be in the movie. I'm guessing it'll be post credit scene

@@lautarocastano635 it is played after the bows so it fits

**Dear Evan Hansen orchestra band enters the chat**
I never realized that a melodica could be such a cool instrument before I saw it in the hands of Alex Lacamoire
My fav smol part is when they play “why do you write like you’re running out of time?!” @ 1:55
"We have liberated the musicians from the pit-"
Orchestra and pitt two words that shouldn't go together 😹
there's something so mesmerising about seeing violin players play the same thing and make all the same hand movements
Bearded guy plays his solo, the Devil lays that golden fiddle at his feet.
Wow is right! Here is to the the musicians, the foundation of all great musicals, movies and all entertainment.
lin is such a little christmas noob i love this smol little man and his christmas sweater
Why on Alexander Hamilton's green earth is that NOT on the album???
+Tim Dreyer It's normal for many cast albums to not have the Playout in the list.
+Thirdy Saruca yeah well "cast" should technically include orchestra too so we should lobby to get playout music on cast albums! It's always one of my favorite numbers in a show
This show doesn't actually have a playoff. As Lin said before the performance, you won't see this on the album OR in the show, because it was made specifically for this event.
Mr. Trombone I actually saw the show...and it is in the show. It's the playout. It sounds exactly like this. I tried to record it on my phone but I sadly only got the Yorktown part of the playout.
During the playout, there's a circle of light on the turntables and once it hits that last "Shot!" in the song, it turns red.
The reason he says you won't see it in the show is because the pit is under the stage. He means you won't SEE it in the show, but you do hear it. It is actually the playoff in the real show. This arrangement is a bit different because of practical constraints (not the full drumsets, Alex has a melodica instead of his normal keyboard, etc.) but the song is actually played in the show.
why isnt the cellist getting any love? as a cellist myself, cellos and bases hold the rhythm for everyone, and they keep everyone on beat. so, i love the cellist of the hamilton orchestra pit! shes very talented, and i hope she can persue her career as a cellist.
Victoria Dodson CELLOS AND CELLISTS ARE VERY COOL I APPLUAD YOU
so what i'm hearing... The Schuyler Sisters drum intro, then Yorktown, (i dont know what Lacamoire's solo is? continuation of Yorktown?) Wait For It on the strings, "Why do you write like you're running out of time?" from Non-Stop, (then the violin solo idk probably also Non-Stop) lastly the whoa whoa whoa yeah tune w/ drums & My Shot .w.
Yes, Lac's solo uses the "Yorktown" chord changes. The violin and drum solo use the "My Shot" changes, and the transition linking the two is the end of the "Rewind" section from "Satisfied" taken at double speed.
Josh Freilich Its not satisfied, it's Burn
Is it though? I don't remember that section of music in "Burn."
1:42 burn
The violin group is playing the intro to burn. If you listen to the beginning of the actual recording you’ll here that part. It’s played on piano on the track so that’s why it might sound different
this arrangement is life. Hamilton has become my life
That. Was. SPECTACULAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe that there are only 3 violinists! I could clearly detect My Shot and Yorktown (The World Turned Upside Down). #mindblown
+Amaya Jones One of those is a viola, to make it a traditional string quartet! :)
How could I have missed that???
Burn was also snuck in there! It was fantastic!!!
Amanda McClendon Absolutely, and YET, the Violist on the right(name: Mario Gotoh) also doubles as a third Violin in parts of the score as well!
@@sleepyys9506 I think it was meant to be Wait For It in this case but they are quite similar
I started crying during the violin solo because I realized I will never be that talented (unless I try really really really hard and is still very unlikely)
spencecity99
same
I think in the actual show itself it’s a guitar solo. Because of amplification, they switched it to violin for this particular instance.
Beyond cool :D
+JonasAlmostFamous CANT BELIEVE YOU LIKE HAM TOO! CAN YOU MAKE A VIDEO ABOUT THE HAM STUFF IN GIRL MEETS RILEYTOWN??????????????? I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!!!
Claire Do Expect some Hamilton videos on my channel very soon :)
JonasAlmostFamous HEY JONAS WADDUP
JonasAlmostFamous oh hello!
this sounds incredible! leave it up to the hamilton musicians to come up with something like this
I FINALLY FOUND THIS MUSIC HOLY SHIT IVE BEEN LOOKING SO LONG
I will pay money to see this performance live. IT WAS AMAZING! I love how so many different songs were incorporated.
Literally everything about this show is great I'm sobbing
Diamond IKR
It's only now they've released it on Disney plus that I know that the violin solo in this replaces the guitar solo. Awesome!
This is the coolest show ever.
Also, seriously, thank you so much for uploading all these Ham4Hams. They make me so happy!
I love how the people did not yell until the last beat. The part where there's, "Not throwing away my shot, (beat)"
Thank you for uploading!!!
+Chantel Vanderveen You’re welcome. Glad you enjoyed it.
Can relate to V2 and Va desperately trying to follow V1's too excited, off-the-cuff, bowings XD
Love love seeing the orchestra out of the pit. I have friends in the pit of two shows on Broadway and instrumentalists rock my world. Do we have the names of these fine musicians?
TheXJill that is so cool what shows were (are?) they in the pit for?
I only know André Ferero the drummer (he’s the guy sitting & playing on the cajon here)
This should be the overture
marissa maynard No, it makes sense for it to be play out because it captivates all of the songs you have heard together, putting it first wouldn’t make sense. Plus, hamilton doesn’t need an overture, it’s got the classic F# run at the start of Alexander Hamilton
Danmmm the strings were killing it!
So I’m 11 and I play the double bass and I’m also obsessed with Hamilton so I was super pumped thinking I can play in the band thing when I’m older
I’m also learning how to play Schuyler sisters on my bass right now
A student _ I’m 13 now (so we’re about a year apart) and I play trumpet and a little bit of piano so like I’m pumped with that thought too. And question- how hard is bass/guitar? I want to learn but idk how hard it is.
So much talent
Theses videos just make me so happy
THIS. IS. TOO. AWESOME. I LOVE LIN SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH.
+Puppies OH- AND THEY MEMORIZED THIS!
+Puppies I mean if you played the same thing everyday for months, you'd probably have it memorized.
+David Zimmerman I suppose ;-/
LMM is *SO* awesome!!!
this is all the names of the members in the orchestra and what they play from left to right
Andres Forero- Drums, Latin -Timbale, Synthesizer
Benny Reiner- Percussion/Mallets-Glockenspiel-Tubular Bells/Synthesizer
Richard Hammond - Bass/Upright Bass/ Synthesizer

Kurt Crowley - Keyboard 2/ Associate Conductor
Jonathan Dinklage - Concertmaster( means first violinist after the conductor aka Violin 1 )
Erin Benim-Mayland - Violin 2

he gave his LIFE to that melodica
The guy holding Lac's keyboard looking at him like "so much talent how is this real"

This has been my favorite Ham4Ham so far!! (Me, being a violin player, wouldn't have anything to do with that at all!)

WOOOOOOO
This better me the ending of of Hamilton The Movie
You know how Newsies
Yeah like that!
BABY I KNEW IT!!!
like 100,000 of the veiws are from me. I love this so much
In my day there would have been a 12 inch, extended disc of this song. Maybe even disco version.
Amazing!!!
Also, what is Lin's shirt?
GIVE ME AN OVERTURE
Alex on Melodica is fucking priceless. He's slayin it, dont get me wrong, but its too hilarious
Is this the music they used for the end credits in the Hamilfilm?
It is! At the very, very end. =D
Yes! i noticed that too!
Would anyone know if those are Andres Forero and Benny Reiner on percussion..?
yes that is them
I always come back to this bc I can play like 80% of the instruments there. But like, I'm shit.
moosquid seriously?! That’s so cool
Damn I wish I could play my melodica that well.
Does anyone know where 1:42-1:52 comes from in the show (if anywhere)?
It's from Wait For It!! :) It's first played under "love doesn't descriminate between the sinners and the saints..." on piano.
+Allison Wonderland thanks!
Nice nod to Jack Benny by LacketyLac lol
To the grown ups who bullied Beard Guy in school for playing the violin: how do you like him now?
Same bullies now trying to get free Hamilton tickets from "their old friend".
I need these people's names please. thanks
No cello?
What song they start playing at 1:43?
It's Burn!
+ninayasmijn NO WAY! 😨 Are you sure? it's time to listen this song again 😂
What is the instrument the man next to Alex Lacamoire playing as well as the giant block of wood?
+Amaya Jones I know the block of wood is called a Cajon. Not sure about the handheld organ/amp thingie. Would be interested to know as well.
Jenna Vega Thanks
Lac is playing the melodica
@@jennavega8454 It's literally just a toy keyboard you can get in Toys R Us for like less than 50 dollars
Liberated out the pit! Haha
Who else is a pit member and wishes to be liberated too?!!!
darcyexene I just wanna be in the pit not my trashy middle school band
Lin: "we have the musicians from the pit!"
me: So you keep them in a dirty deep pit of starving musicians while forcing them to play and write music
