    Who pay those people to ask these kind of questions? 5 minutes asking again and again about that shoulder barge when it was clear that Carter doesn't find it important and won't say a bad word about O'Sullivan...

    What a great fella, in my opinion it is always the press who want to make something sensational. Ali did well, I'm very impressed. By the way, I truly am a Ronnie fan. Hope he goes on to make a 1K tons, and a few more titles.

    Carter deserved the win because he was the better player throughout this match.
    I love to see Ronnie make his incredible comebacks when he's fallen behind, and I thought I'd see once again a brilliant Ronnie comeback and triumph before the match was over, but it did not happen because Ali played consistently well and never wavered throughout, while Ronnie this time 'round didn't produce that magic he normally would under these circumstances.
    A loss for us who are just about becoming accustomed to these brilliances from Ronnie... but in the end, this time around, Allister Carter played the better game (and executed a lot of very impressive
    under-pressure crucial shots).
    I can't deny him this, no matter how much I love Ronnie's snooker... no matter how much I'm rooting for him to get his 1000 centuries.
    You have to give credit where credit is due, period.

    I honestly hope Ali Carter wins the title this year.
    He deserves it so much.
    I'm a massive Ronnie fan, but I'm a great believer in this guy.
    A propper fighter and a very respectful sportsman in every way.
    I'm not intrested in the 'barging' shoulders bullshit.
    Ronnie was frustrated at being the losing player in the match.
    Ali rised above him and played better.... thats it.
    Go on Ali lad.
    Win it this year!

    Annoying smug git the whole match had a stupid angry face on him trying to act tough and if it wasn't for Ronnie there wouldn't be as much interest in the game and that brings in the money for your payday

    Ali probably expected the focus on the little elbow, he's happy to dismiss it. All I can say is anyone who's been watching Snooker for long enough will recognize O'Sullivans comments as classic Rocket behavior from when he wasn't winning everything. Ronnie played well, Ali played better and it was a great match, period.

    I find it funny that most of the people harping on about how annoying the Ronnie fanboys are tend to be equally as zealous in attacking Ronnie and his fans.

    • @SirMalfoy
      @SirMalfoy 6 років тому +2

      No, they deserve to be targeted for a change. All they do is cry when Ronnie loses, pathetic really. Now that's funny!

    • @matthewmcconnell3011
      @matthewmcconnell3011 6 років тому +2

      "For a change"? The whole point of my comment is that they're always targeted and usually quite harshly. Why should they be attacked for being passionate about something? True, there are some who are completely blind and can't admit when Ronnie has played poorly etc. but by and large it seems unwarranted to me. However, judging by your other comments on this video, I won't be changing your mind today so we'll just leave it at that.

    • @matthewmcconnell3011
      @matthewmcconnell3011 6 років тому +2

      Firstly, a brief glance through the comments showed me that much less than half of the comments are made by "Ronnie hotheads" who "attack Carter". In fact the majority seem to be praising him. However I'll forgive you for that as some of those may have been posted after you commented. Secondly, while it may not have happened here, across the internet people have attacked Ronnie in addition to his fans so I don't believe I am incorrect there. Finally, you and SmileDog are perfect examples of the zealous people to which I was referring. You have both said that you do not like Ronnie fanboys and yet you seem to have put far more effort into putting these people in their place and attempting to prove them wrong than they have in stating their love for Ronnie. In my opinion, that makes you just as bad as they are. However, I'm not that interested in having a huge debate about this. You have your opinion, I have mine. One small, insignificant argument probably won't change that. I do agree that there is a vocal minority that tends to rear its head on the internet who are just absolute idiots/nasty people but I feel that the Ronnie fanbase, on the whole, gets unfairly insulted. Agreeing to disagree is probably the best course of action here however.

    • @matthewmcconnell3011

  • @AxmihaMeuSaco

    The issue is just one: talent. Ali doesn't have it and Ronnie does. Talents like Ronnie, when they come, are a blessing and whoever is involved should be learning and being grateful to be able to be in the same room. Even Ronnie himself is learning with his own talent all the time. It's not about WIN at all costs, except for technocrats like Alister. If it's just about winning, then build a robot strong AI or whatever and voila. It's not about that at all. Not with snooker, or music, or anything creative. Ronnie fans are not devoted to Ronnie, but to talent. That's what they like and acknowledge. And I'm not a Ronnie fan.

    I'm a massive Ronnie O'Sullivan fan, BUT I am not going dislike a video or a person cause he lost against him. Ali Carter is a class act(don't think he can win it but best of luck) and as he fought his way back from cancer was great.
    Journalists tried to give him words to have a good headline but like in Ronnie's case in the other interview didn't work out quite well.

    Has to be said, whether it was nothing or not to them, if a 'mate' was being like Ronnie was during a snooker match with me I'd think 'what's he all getting shitty about?'. People don't get shitty like that round me, I tell ya.

  • @N1755L
    @N1755L 6 років тому

    I've always been a fan of Ronnie, to be specific, a fan of Ronnie's snooker play, but what happened in the 19th frame was very disappointing. Outside seedy pool halls, one should not witness such things.
    I sincerely hope that Ronnie is going to think this through and finally fess up that he got frustrated and made a mistake for which he would like to apologize to Ali. Going about a press conference and insisting that it was nothing, keep smiling, is not good enough.
    If you think it was just tight space, watch the video over and over until you can no longer deny it, it clearly was intentional and the honourable thing for Ronnie to do at this point is to apologize for having allowed his emotions get the better of him. It need not be anything more than that, it is nothing more than that, all it is is that an apology is in order.
    The interviews with Ali show that he understands that the shoulder barge was only just about frustration, maybe pressure, and they show that he is more than willing to accept such an apology and move on. Denying the obvious is not the proper way for Ronnie to handle this.
    I kind of expected Ronnie to eventually concede "Yeah, maybe I did get a bit irked about:
    my not-up-to-my-standards play this afternoon
    about Ali not looking at the table
    about Ali not missing any critical shots nor cracking under the pressure
    about Ali consistently making top-notch safety shots
    about my not getting any real chances at a run of frames"
    about... you the commentators might have other suggestions as to what was getting under Ronnie's skin?
    Pretending nothing happened could tarnish Ronnie... please Ronnie, not at this stage in your carreer.

    • @billywhitewolf
      @billywhitewolf 6 років тому +2

      It won't tarnish anything Ronnie's done worse in the past including walking out mid-match and deliberately throwing frames by playing erratically. It was two people that know each other for years had a bit of a shoulder brush a bit like a quarrel with a friend or relative that they both got over and forgot about seconds after it happened. Don't harp on trivial crap.
