Lived 5 years in a very hilly area of New Jersey. Had two front wheel drive cars with snow tires . Worked great.
Still some ice up there, I was there yesterday and 2 weeks ago. The ice is further up past the white gate at Stockton flats. I saw a jeep slide backwards and crash into another jeep. Yesterday there was still ice 200 yards from reaching yellow post 13 in dog bone canyon.

I had those Yokohama Geolanders 003 on my Jk and never had any issues,even in the snow.They are great tired...Great video

oh dude, watching Jay slip back like that was scary! Good video Kevin! After sliding forward uncontrollably in death valley on the way to the saline valley hotsprings, I started using chains. I like Jayz attitude, chain up, haha!
Yes! They're rigs are heavy with all the overlanding gears. I think I should invest on chains just for safety. I remember your saline video lol! Thanks for watching Jon!
Jon, I was watching your post too with Nick up in the Sierra Nevada, that was tiring lol. I saw you chained up but only when you got stuck and not the rest of the way?
@@simplyjjay yeah, it was only for the specific obstacle in my Instagram post today. We had a tiring, but fun time before I mounted the chains. Lots of snow in the eastern sierras

I have a stock trd pro 4Runner. I’m new to the whole off-roading thing would I be fine doing something like this.
Hey brother! Thanks for watching! Definitely you can do this! Depending in the type of trail of-course especially when you have a stock vehicle. I recommend getting some tires first and researching local easy trails.
What was the elevation at the point where the vehicles were slipping?
After the big open area in the 3n06 maybe 400- 600 meters more.

I was there on Monday Jan 2nd and snow was gone.
