I think the important part of the Jojo Siwa story is that she is not natural blonde and her mom has been bleaching her hair since she was like 5 or sth. She was practically abused by Abby and her mom didn't really protect her from the life in reality tv show. She has been growing up around toxic adults and in showbiz since very young age. I think we need to look on how she thinks, she was exploited as a child and has been famous her entire life. Yes, that messes up someone. Exactly. Have we not seen this so often before? It's not sustainable. Being loud and obnoxious or starting trouble draws people in for a while. Tana Mongeau and Gabbie Hanna spring to mind but I haven't seen anything to do with them in terms of onliners talking about them nor ever get anything about them recommended when once you couldn't avoid them. When I saw that reunion thing some of the other girls seem have to turned out well. A few even stopped dancing altogether and didn't look back. Not all of them turned up of course but those that did seem well rounded and happy with their lives. She stood up for Abbie whatever her name is when the others wanted to air their grievances which they had every right to do. Maybe because she's still in that line when the others that were there didn't seem to be.
The people at those pride events aren't all there for her. It's like a festival. There are different acts throughout the day on the same stage and you get there early to be close to the stage for the other acts. Maybe I'm wrong and everyone is there just for her, but I doubt it.

The funny thing is, I think that Jojo actually liked being the wholesome role-model for kids. She keeps talking up her new direction, but I don’t actually sense any resentment for how she was previously coming off of her. If she wanted to do something shocking, she would nuke her old image entirely and scrub it off of the internet, kill it like Miley killed off Hannah Montana. But... she hasn't. She protects that image because it means something to kids and honestly, that’s kind of sweet. I think somewhere in the glitter and bows is the real Jojo. What I think she's really craving is her the ability to set HER OWN image without studio or family meddling. I hope she gets that someday.

I commented this on another video a few days ago, the clip of her in that stupid vest where she’s talking about make a wish and asking the organization how old the kids who requested her were because she didn’t want to show up how she is now, so she threw on a glitter rainbow dress and a bow when she found out they were super young. THAT’S maturity and being an adult, that kind of genuine golden retriever energy is why so many kids resonated with her. That’s what she SHOULD have done if anyone around her for a second thought about it and wanted to successfully market adult Jojo, they would have made her out to be a wholesome LGBTQ+ *alternative* to the Chappell Roan’s and Miley’s of the world, she could’ve actually made a huge positive impact for the community by saying “yeah I’m not a hyper sexualized ‘bad girl’ I’m a normal person that just wants to make people happy and entertain them” and marketing her music or whatever as a kid friendly look at life growing up how she did, she would’ve killed it! I can't help myself to pity her. She was never allowed to develope an identity on her own and got exploited and abused by her mother which seems to have led to kind of a stockholm syndrome making her defend the worst kinds of people because admitting to herself what they are would mean to admit what her mother is as well and without her she is literally nothing as far as identity goes. I don't see how she could have turned out any other way under the conditions she had to endure, honestly. Don't get me wrong, I really don't like her - but I fear that's not her fault in the end.

I also suffer from CPTSD and that is much more harmful. And that would be a large part of her issues-she has been and is being abused and used and knows no other life, so yes, she cannot see it at all. Which may land her in the land of psychosis eventually. If that happens, she is no longer responsible for her actions. BUT, I knew my abuser was doing wrong and I stopped the cycle, as an adult. I saw other families that did not act the same way. And they are very much keeping her busy and surrounded by ‘yes’ people. It stinks of Michael Jackson, and that was a tragedy all around. So, we should hope that she sees some of these comments at some point and thinks, ‘wait, maybe I’m not ok.’ I hope so.✌️
Here's my take. Jojo was a big deal in the TLC Mom universe with Dance Moms. She was a sympathetic character because she was picked on by Abby. So, Moms let her into their children's world because she was so sweet and talented. She was honest and kind and came by her fame through hard work. Then she came out gay and TLC Moms turned on her, but the gay community and woke moms rallied because nobody puts up with homophobes anymore. Once they gave her the platform, she couldn't stay interesting enough just being gay. So, she went obnoxious. Infamy is not fame and I'm sad for her.

I remember going from cute young vibrant thing to the goth and emo sort of "styles" when I was 13-15. She was offered it, declined, and the song was passed to Britt Smith who did record it but didn't release it. Choose Your Fighter was written by someone with a large TikTok following and they are also write for the same record company that Jojo is under. Something about how writers don't actually own their songs but the record companies do.

Let’s not also forget that the woman that abused and victimised Jojo - Abby Lee Miller - got sent to jail for fraud amid EVERY OTHER PARENT turning their back on her due to her terrorism of their children. Jessalyn, who repeatedly made Jojo apologise to this monster just to keep her opportunities open and to keep ingratiated with her, engineered things so that once Abby was released from jail and was found to be very ill with cancer, she had Jojo run to her side and very publicly pledge their allegiance…to the woman who called a very young Jojo ‘a greedy little monster’, told her she ‘deserved nothing’ and consistently treated Jojo poorly…but let’s not let child abuse prevent us from any potential business opportunities that may pop up from Abby’s connections.
This whole situation is just unfortunate and complicated in ways Jojo clearly isn't equipped to handle. On one hand, she had what most would think is a perfect dream-girl childhood where she got basically anything she wanted, only for her to give it all away for practically nothing. Though on the other hand, her entire youth wasn't about her, but rather her image. Even Dance Moms created a foundation of surface-level appearance in spite of suffering from the lack of authenticity that a child needs to express. This whole new debacle is certainly cringy and immature, but at the same time in a lot of ways you can hardly blame her for just wanting to have the freedom of expression for what's likely the first time in her life. She's probably doing just about as well as anyone else would if you gave what's effectively a rebellious teenager millions of dollars and an international stage in the midst of their teen identity crisis

As someone who's a few months younger than Jojo, who is also queer and afab, I always forgot that we're the same age before her rebrand because she always felt a few years younger than me, but when I was reminded of her age, it never shocked me. It was just; "Oh yeah, haha!" However, the rebrand doesn't make me think, "Oh, she's an adult, she's the same age as me!" If anything, it makes her feel even younger to me. Her vision of a "grown-up bad girl" just gives the impression of what a 16 y.o would think that would be.

The funny thing is, I think that Jojo actually liked being the wholesome role-model for kids. She keeps talking up her new direction, but I don’t actually sense any resentment for how she was previously coming off of her. I commented this on another video a few days ago, the clip of her in that stupid vest where she’s talking about make a wish and asking the organization how old the kids who requested her were because she didn’t want to show up how she is now, so she threw on a glitter rainbow dress and a bow when she found out they were super young. THAT’S maturity and being an adult, that kind of genuine golden retriever energy is why so many kids resonated with her. Here's my take. Jojo was a big deal in the TLC Mom universe with Dance Moms. She was a sympathetic character because she was picked on by Abby. So, Moms let her into their children's world because she was so sweet and talented. She was honest and kind and came by her fame through hard work. Then she came out gay and TLC Moms turned on her, but the gay community and woke moms rallied because nobody puts up with homophobes anymore. Once they gave her the platform, she couldn't stay interesting enough just being gay. So, she went obnoxious. Infamy is not fame and I'm sad for her.

She was offered it, declined, and the song was passed to Britt Smith who did record it but didn't release it. Choose Your Fighter was written by someone with a large TikTok following and they are also write for the same record company that Jojo is under. Something about how writers don't actually own their songs but the record companies do.

This whole situation is just unfortunate and complicated in ways Jojo clearly isn't equipped to handle. On one hand, she had what most would think is a perfect dream-girl childhood where she got basically anything she wanted, only for her to give it all away for practically nothing. Though on the other hand, her entire youth wasn't about her, but rather her image. Even Dance Moms created a foundation of surface-level appearance in spite of suffering from the lack of authenticity that a child needs to express.
This whole new debacle is certainly cringy and immature, but at the same time in a lot of ways you can hardly blame her for just wanting to have the freedom of expression for what's likely the first time in her life. She's probably doing just about as well as anyone else would if you gave what's effectively a rebellious teenager millions of dollars and an international stage in the midst of their teen identity crisis

As someone who's a few months younger than Jojo, who is also queer and afab, I always forgot that we're the same age before her rebrand because she always felt a few years younger than me, but when I was reminded of her age, it never shocked me. It was just; "Oh yeah, haha!"
However, the rebrand doesn't make me think, "Oh, she's an adult, she's the same age as me!" If anything, it makes her feel even younger to me. Her vision of a "grown-up bad girl" just gives the impression of what a 16 y.o would think that would be.
