Lady, your core ring sampling for bulk density is NOT correct. You shake the soil too much and the bulk density will be disturbed and NOT accurate anymore. You should place another ring on top of the first ring and knock gently to ensure the first ring completely buried deep before taking the ring out again. Again KNOCK the wood gently not too hard like what you are doing.
That's true. It's either that or, in peat soil, we usually just use knife and gently set in the core ring. It was incorrect how she hammer it in. It's no longer a sample fit for bulk density analysis cause technically, the pores has already been initially hammered.
Way to go..! Beautiful sample, Katie... ;)
Thank you very much! We don't have so clear videos to explain this test in portuguese! Thank you very much!

Hello! Great video. At what temperature should we bake the sample for 24 hours?
Usually oven dry at 105°C

Not correct
Not correct because the lady is compacting soil and the results will not be representative of natural / undisturbed soil. Not good at all!!!
