Salada de Polvo com Coentros - Portuguese Octopus Salad

The Octopus Salad is a typical Portuguese recipe that can be served as a starter or snack. The octopus must be tender and the spices well balanced.
This delicious snack is one of the most traditional in Portugal and is always present in restaurants, snack bars and on our tables.
Seafood is abundant off the coast of Portugal and octopus is found on most menus.
This octopus salad is made with onion, garlic, and fresh coriander leaves, the whole thing topped with olive oil, some vinegar and with a touch of salt and pepper. You can also make this recipe with tentacles.
P.S.: It might be surprising, but frozen octopus is better than a fresh octopus. The process doesn’t change the flavor, on top of that, it breaks the fibers which make it more tender.

- 800 g frozen octopus
- 1 onion
- 1 clove of garlic
- fresh coriander
- some olive oil
- some vinegar
- some salt and pepper
